theyve broken the data protection act and MUST be reported to the OFT/FOS and ICO.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

If my advice helps you, click the star icon at the bottom of my post and feel free to say thanks

Go online for the OFT, forget about the FOS, they won't do anything for 8 weeks and then will take 8 months to 'investigate'.

If you don't know what this debt relates to say so to them, no point SARing them at all. I don't believe in CCAing anyone other than the original company as it is a timewaster - far easier to ignore the initial threat letter and THEN hit them with 'the legal stuff' should they be foolish to chase further.

The OFT are at http://www.oft.gov.uk

The debt they are referring to dates back to a old pdl from quick quid. On checking my back statements i have made payments to this debt back in 2009.The sum they say i owe is £551 but say's nothing about the £160 i payed off back in 09. Any advice on how to deal with these low life **** bags would be a great help also i will be reporting them to OFT

I'd be tempted to send them a prove it letter and go from there.

Ignore it for now, they haven't got much to go on.

If you do get court paperwork acknowledge it and do a short factual defence stating you made a payment of X on X date and do not recognise the amount claimed. State that it is a payday loan and was of short duration and therefore any added interest is not accpetable.

Beyond that I can't help any further with this thread as I no longer deal with payday loan issues on this forum.
