Hi All I have been struggling to pay last year's tax bill like many people not much work about at the moment , I applied to have the pay 50% up front for next year taken off as I believe next year to have little or no tax to pay as may not even brake even but HMRC refused my bills about £4K I have paid all charges and interest that I owe them on this amount I have just rung them and asked if I could set up a payment agreement but they said no and will refer to a debt collection agency is this the norm ??? I don't argue that the tax is due and want to bring everything up to date but just needed some time.

Thanks
