Hi,

I am currently living in a flat with a company "Redpath Bruce" being the property factors. Within the flats, we share a drying room and apparently a complaint has been made about my items stored in it. They sent me a letter reading,

"We shall be obliged if persons responsible for these items would remove them by Friday, 6th July 2012. The drying room will be inspected on this date and please note any items remaining in the drying room after expiry of the time limit given will be uplifted and disposed of".

Are they within their rights to do this?

I am living in Glasgow, UK.

Property Factors (Scotland) Act 2011: legislation.gov.uk/asp/2011/8/enacted

Thanks.

Basically yes the drying room is just that

and no a storage area, you good may also

be a fire risk.

Any Letters I Draft are N0T approved by CAG and no personal liability is accepted.

Hi

Agree with Brig.

What you need to remember as its flats the property factor needs to follow the required legislation whether its Health & Safety to Fire Safety of the properties.

If the property factor is for the whole building and they consider your items a risk then YES.

I would also check your agreement and if there is nothing signed to say you can use this as a storage area then they could also class it as a breach of tenancy so be aware of that.
