Hi. I took a loan for £100 with txtloan a while back. I was supposed to pay back £117. To cut a long story short it didn't get paid and is now with equidebt. Apparently I now owe £254.37. When I log into my txtloan account I am greeted with this break down...

Loan-£100

Interest-£59.50

First Warning-£25

Second Warning-£25

Debt Collection Fee-£44.87

Total-£254.37

I'm not at all worried by this, I was just wondering if it was worth having a go at getting them to drop some of these stupid charges? Thanks!

Paul

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

The emails have been flying back and forth between myself, equidebt and txtloan over the charges. But they are digging their heels in. They tell me the charges are clearly listed in the agreement and will stand.

I got a letter from H.L. Solicitors today with the same. Well, the letter makes no sense, it says TXTLoans at the top, then the first line reads -

We act for HSBC who have instructed us with regard to your outstanding account with them in the above amount.

Have nothing owing to HSBC!

So, I gave them a bell and asked what it was all about.

Poor lad on the phone mush have been some kind of junior because he told me they cannot send out information about the charges as 'it is in the t&c's', and also got really confused when I asked when the debt was from ('they don't appear to have given us that information').

I suggested they contact their client and get all the relevant information, and then write to me again. Are H.L. Solicitors just a load of kids playing at Judge Judy or something?!

I got a letter from H.L. Solicitors too today. Should I just email them and say I am disputing the charges on the account? They have given a website where I can pay them. But for every payment I will be charged 40p. lol

It would be a good idea to make sure there is no money in the account they have debit card details for on original date of 4th July.
