I hope this is in the right section, aplogies if not ,

I took a payday loan out to recover from christmas, and iv had a more serious issue occur where iv had to start paying back a debt for benefit fraud :/

So my payday loan is back of the que, I took it out from round the corner from where i work,

Its due today , the lady rang me 4 times today and threatned to come into my work, and to keep calling my work if i dont pay the roll over fee or full loan back by tomorrow.

Is she allowed to keep ringing my work or is she allowed to come into my work. She kept saying she will call my work persistantly untill its payed back.

Where do i stand and what can i do . Theres noway i can pay the roll over fee or full loan back untill i clear my other debt to the council. Please advise

Im worryed that ill get in trouble at work

I dont know where they find these people to work for theses companies, next time she phones tell her you are recording the call and you will continue to do so everytime she calls as you feel harrased, thats all I can tell you, there is a form you cand send to them to stop them calling at work, but I am not really sure about this. Someone will come along and guide you in the right direction. Complain to there head office officially, do that tonight and tell her you have done so

Each and every time they call whilst your working - hang up

but do try and communicate with them in another way in a method that can printed, cause they won't go away until something is sorted

People work for these companies because they are as desperate as us and sometimes I imagine they don't like what they do - remember their just paid to do it by someone who gives them orders to follow just like the rest of the working population : (

asmile, honestly I am desperate and I would probably work for such a company if the oppurtunity arose, however I would not and could not take orders from any 'boss' that made me harrass and threaten people like this, its just not in my nature sorry, I would leave first no matter how desperate I was. There is no excuse for bullying

A friend started work at a payday loan shop on Monday and was told by the boss to leave her morals at the door. She walked out today. Total tosspots.

I dunno I feel for the person at one payday loan company who didn't bully (far from it) yet got all the blame - made out to be the "scapegoat" now that is discusting and despicable.

Gazette - Hope your friend finds something better she is worth more then that and had lucky escape, but I can appreciate there are people out there with mouths to feed and little choice, the same situation as those who take loans no doubt

Hi Fairy - have a look in the CAG library at the top. You will find letters to help you deal with harrassment. Tell this low life that you will report her to Trading Standards and OFT if they don't delete your work number from their database. Also, might be worth sending them an email and recorded delivery letter (keep receipts and copies of all letters sent to them). Word it something like this (below). Then work out how much you can pay them monthly and make them an offer. Do NOT set up a direct debit. Ask for their bank details and set up a standing order. Good Luck x (Letter below)

Re: Harassment by telephone

ACCOUNT NUMBER: XXXXXXX

Dear Sirs

I am writing in relation to the quantity and frequency of telephone callslink3.gif that I have received from your company, which I deem to be personally harassing.

I have verbally requested that these stop, but I am still receiving calls. (Delete if necessary)

I now require all further correspondence from your company to be made in writing only.

I am of the view that your continued harassment of me by telephone puts you in breach of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.

If you continue to harass me by telephone, you will also be in breach of the Communications Act (2003) s.127 and I will report you to OFCOM, Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading, meaning that you will be liable to a substantial fine.

Be advised that any further telephone callslink3.gif from your company will be recorded. (**Even if you don‘t yet have recording equipment!!**)

Yours faithfully,
