I received a new Toshiba C660 satelite laptop bought from argos as a Christmas present. It has been completely fine until tonight. The left/right click buton and touchpad have stop working. I have done a recovery but it didn't change anything. I am now considering returning it to Argos and I was wondering if it would be possible to get a new one.

Please help.

Thanks

hp are the same

If the F9 key shows pad disabled, you need to hit F9 again with FN still punched to enable pad. Also, go to Control Panel-Mouse-Device Settings Tab and make sure that the box for "Disable internal device when external device is attached" is unchecked.

You really need to check that you have not turned off the trackpad inadvertently first

Some lappy's have a touchpad disable button.

I've checked that and in fact it was off. I turn it on but it still didn't change anything.

thanks for your help I've manage to fix it. A friend of mine asked me to remove the battery and put it back. I've done so and everything is fine now.

£50? You must be joking lol. that's a bit expensive just to remove the battery and put back.

PS: I would be more than happy to help others if I can. :-)
