I purchaced a advent lap top from pcworld january 2nd 2010

it has been in for repair twice to have the left and right click and the mouse done

and the right click dosnt work again and i couldnt install anything including office 2010 which should have been installed when i purchased it

so i had to pay £40.00 to have that done and they never touched the left click the last time and so it has to go back again.

Im an oap and not very clever

i know but i realy feel let down by this.

As i am housebound and have to get someone to take it back for me and the 12months guarantee is up soon .

Everyone says to me that they should give me replacement

is this true as it has already been back twice

and in that twice was 3 weeks in all that i was without it.

It is very skimpy and just a thin piece of bendy tin or very low quality steel where the clicks are.

I had a compqak for ten years and never had any trouble with that but i gave it to my grandaughter

and she had it took back to factory settings and its as good as new again

.i do hope you can advise me on this matter as i do use it to keep in touch with everyone

thanks sandra

office should not have been installed when you purchased it - its a separate licence which is around 100 quid normally for word etc so 40 quid aint bad!

from my understanding they should repair within a reasonable time usually 28 days i thought anybody that knows better please post good luck anyways!!

I got someone to take this back for me again just before christmas they said there was nothing wrong with it and that i should press the left click down harder and it didnt have to click so why did they make it to click the first time it was took back and now the left click and the mouse only works some times. It is as bad now as what it was the first time it was in for repair and they were told that you said it should be replaced and they said noway would they replace it.

I think this is disgusting . Reguards ...........

with microsoft works (office) which includes word this is usually already installed on new laptops on a trial basis so when the time limit is up on the trial it then starts asking for you to pay for the full software when the trial runs out but if your meant to have the full microsoft office then why did they ask for money all i can recomend is ask if the microsoft office software was a trial already installed on the laptop or was you meant to have the full office software just so everyone is clear in the store that they made you pay for it when its meant to be free for you now the office disk i assume you have may also be a trial vresion you need to find out if the software was a trial or full software hope this helps you out
