Got a strange letter from Barclays this morning after having requested info on a long closed account.

"We have been able to locate some information that relates to you within the banks systems but please be aware that this is limited."

"In order to ensure safe delivery of the information, please indicate on the enclosed form details of the branch from where you wish to collect the package;..."

All very strange. All the other stuff I've had has just been posted to me directly. Is this a standard procedure used by Barclays?; is my "limited" amount of information so large that the postage would bankrupt Barclays?; do they intend to kidnap and murder me to prevent the payout?

Yep,

I got the same although I only have a few statements. I Sent the letter back requesting it to be sent to my local branch. They never cashed the £10 postal order so I now have a useless £10 lying about.

Just some guy. I try to help, but all advice is my opinion.
