Phoenix Recoveries bought my debt from kays & Littlewoods back in 2007/8.

I've not heard from them in over a year, but i wanted to send a letter to them asking if they would waiver the debt due to ill health and being out of work for several years.

When i looked online for the address a few posts from the C.A.G came up. with one of them saying that the company dissolved in December 2010. so i've checked companies house and they confirm that the company is dissolved.

i spoke to kays yesturday and they never mentioned anything about them being dissolved when he gave me their phone number.

Does anyone know if this is the same company? and what rights i might have in regards to my outstanding debt with them (about £200).

The address i was given by kays last year was :

Phoenix Recoveries UK LTD

Unit 16,

Boundary Business Centre,

Boundary Way,

Woking

Surrey

GU21 - 5DH

Any advice would be appreciated :-)

That is a DIFFERENT company. The Phoenix you want is based in Luxembourg. I'd let sleeping dogs lie - they will not waive a debt.

“The industry is rotten to the core, whether it is in-house recovery and collection, or where agents are used, or where the debt has been sold.” Andrew Mackinley MP, House of Commons, 22 April 2009

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

You would not poke a wasps nest would you?

Have a read of the new OFT directions of things DCA's like to do!

Then consider that you are going to ask a DCA write off a debt based on ill health when they are happy to visit hospitals as 'friends' and harass people in their beds

These people are without moral fiber and border on evil, god forbid another holocaust but your average DCA is the first place they would find people to herd women and children into gas chambers. Stop treating them as humans or something you could possibly reason with.
