I was preparing a tribute-by finding some of his more memorable posts.

Many of these had the team in stitches-he had a great ability to turn a crisis into chaos in a funny way of course.....that was Bob.

It only seems like yesterday when he was around-I guess because in searching I see some of his posts almost daily.

Top man.:first:

Bob is still sorely missed. He had the gift of the gab and you could see the empathy he felt for others in his posts (even those whose point of view he didn't share). I hope his real life friends and family are all doing well on this sombre anniversary.

If in doubt, contact a qualified insured legal professional (or my wife... she knows EVERYTHING)

Bob was always thinking of others-in fact he posted this for BB in Feb 2010 when he was actually quite ill himself-although no one knew at the time.

Re: Babybear.... GET WELL SOON

The worst part is the waiting.

Lets hope that it is a case of no news is good news.

He was one of the first to respond after freecycle was mentioned on CAG;

Re: Freecycle - It's just amazing

We've re-homed a TV that was surplus to requirements.

We also passed on a 3-seater settee and an armchair to the Birmingham Mission who amongst other things help un-married mothers in sheltered accomodation.

The whole concept of Freecycle is brilliant, IMHO.

Responding to someone who had a noisy dog;

Re: how can i stop my 4mnth old dachshund barking at night!!

The pup needs to know that just because he can't see you, it doesn't mean that you are not there.

Three good suggestions have already been made.

1) An old alarm clock, wrapped in a blanket. (Make sure that you don't set the alarm or you'll have him trying to climb the walls
:lol:
)

2) A stuffed toy (especially a dog) that he can cuddle up to.

3) A radio left on at a low volume. (You'll have to experiment to find what genre of music he prefers).

Whatever you go for, you need to deal with it now, before it becomes an in-grained habit. It will be much harder to deal with then.

Good luck.

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long already. His humour and wit is what I will remember him for. And boy, what a sense of humour that was!
