Hi,

I would like to reclaim PPI and payment penalties on debts I am still paying off from 1999.

The debts were transferred to collection agencies.

My question is how do I go about reclaiming my PPI? Do I write to the original lender or the debt collection agencies?

Is it possible some of these debts are unenforcible and if so how would I go about doing all 3 ie PPI, unfair charges and unenforceable agreements?

Sorry for all the questions but new to this and really confused!

Thanks

Send the original creditor a Subject access request , go into cag library and find it there , they have 40 days to comply .When you get your documentation ..loan details we can take it from there :)rs

If you want to work out EXACTLY what they owe you then send a subject access request like i did ...They send you copies of each loan youve had with them , from that you can workout the premiums you paid and the interest due on each of them .So if your complaint is upheld you know how much the redress is and not what THEY tell you .sup to you though regards rs

I only just became aware that the foslink3.gif have a provided a form for the initial approach to the business on their website.

Apparently it is " designed to encourage more efficient, co-ordinated and consistent handling of PPIlink3.gif complaints across the financial services industry"

http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.u...notes/ppi.html

There is a standard form which can be completed by the claimant and sent to the business. That same form can be used to make any complaint to the Ombudsmanlink3.gif if the business rejects the claim or goes outside the 8 weeks. So a copy should be made before sending to the business:)
