At terraced houses, if a satellite/Sky dish is installed at the front of one house, between upper floor widows, and points mainly alongside/parallel to the the shared outside front wall, could the radiation/microwaves/reception/transmission disrupt neighbours' WiFi and/or affect health of children in bedrooms?

And is it allowed to install a satellite dish at the front of a house?

sat dishes are "RECEIVE ONLY" there is NO RF coming off the dish,

as for install normally not a problem unless its a listed building / conservation area / local council or private landlord may write into the tenancy a big NO

Thanks for responding. Regarding RF coming off the dish, is the dish acting like a magnet to focus or amplify reception of anyting that can cause health risks if these fields are travelling across neighbours' bedroom windows? Can it interfere with wireless broadband?

Also, can one find out online if they are in a designated conservation area?

I wont go into the tech side

the signal is received on the dish, because of the curves of the dish the signal received is then directed to the LMB ( low noise block ) the bit that sticks out the front of the dish, not towards anywhere else

even what gets to the LNB is so low a signal would not have any effect if you put your hand in front of it , its in microvolts ( 1/1000 of a volt )

there is more signals bouncing around of any metal objets in the street inc buildings, lamposts metal raillings out there , including Mobile Phone , Police / ambulance / fire engines / Buses / taxi etc / radio hams / CB'ers etc pumping out RF from 2 way radios far in excess of any sat signals that are about

NEVER FORGET

Yes but those other signals probably wouldnt go through walls and in any event are farther distance than a satellite dish right outside bedroom windows where small children sleep.

Are the dishes automatically not allowed at fronts of houses in any conservation area?

Hi,

Think you'll need to google it, just put in Satellite Dish and your local council name, that should throw up something.

actually the lower the frequency as in every day radio such as 2 way police etc 130 - 170+ meg VHF / 400 - 470 meg UHF will go through buildings higher frequency signals such as SAT wont as such , even mobile phones 900 / 1800 / 2100 meg are very reduced when travelling through buildings etc

to clear up a bit of confusion sat signals are pure line of sight , with only the odd aircraft and bad weather to get in its way, normal everyday radio has so many obstructions including the curvature of the earth to contend with
