Hi guys

I purchased a 200WS TFT monitor on 06/01/2009 from Cdiscount.co.uk and recently it has developed a fault. It buzzes for 10secs when turned on from cold, a quick whack to it and the buzzing stops.

So i called Philips today for a repair/replacement

they said it will be replaced but they do not have any of the same monitor in stock and will contact me when they have stock! i asked for ETA and they are not sure and said it varies so they cant give me a date.

Can they do this? the TFT has a 3 year on-site warranty from purchase date (06/01/2009).

This is the first time ive been told to sit and wait for a warranty replacement.

Is there any thing i can do to hurry the process up?

I called Cdiscount who said that the first 30 days is with them and after this it goes to manufacturer warranty.

Thanks

you should really do this under soga to the seller.

however as philips are playing ball, i'd go with them then.

you should get a equiv replacement, philips are admitting the fault so its an 'unfit for purpose' soga claim i would assume.
