Thanks Slick...... shocked was an understatement!

Made a small donation the other night, first pay packet for a while with a bit left over - but I'm getting there, albeit slowly

More to come when the cheques in and cleared :D

Any idea what the operating costs are or is that privileged info?

Not wishing to pry but I've gained a lot of knowledge on here and it would be nice to know what that knowledge is costing and if theres any way of helping.

Hi Gez,

Thanks for the donation you've already made. :D

If you contact Admin, they are the peeps to answer any Q's about the site's running costs, but I'm not sure how much they can tell you.

The main problem is that donations are at an all time low. They fizzled out quickly when CAGgers stopped winning their cases after the Stays imposed on bank charges claims, back in July 2007.

But the site still has ongoing expenses which have to be paid, regardless.

:)

We could do with some help from you

Case Reference Number ENQ0.......................

Dear

Thank you for your email of ..th September 2009 concerning Grattan. Unfortunately Mr R......... no longer works in this part of the office. The matter you have raised has, therefore, been passed to me to respond to.

You have made a complaint that relates to the Data Protection Act 1998 (the DPA). The DPA has eight principles of ‘good information handling’. These give people specific rights in relation to their personal information and put certain obligations on those organisations that are responsible for processing it. Under section 51 of the DPA the Commissioner also has a general duty to promote compliance with the law.

As I understand it, you are concerned that Grattan have disclosed information to you that relates to a third party.

The seventh data protection principlesays that:-

‘Appropriate technical and organisational measures shall be taken against unauthorised or unlawful processing of personal data and against accidental loss or destruction of, or damage to, personal data’.

It may be that Grattan’s procedures for ensuring compliance with the DPA could be strengthened. I will therefore write to them to recommend the steps they should take to help ensure future compliance with the DPA.

As I have enough information to take this forward with GrattanI do not think I will need to write to you again about this matter. If, however, you need to contact us again about it, please be sure to quote the above reference number.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

Yours sincerely

Case Officer.

Just have to wait now for the balancing payment from them.

If you haven't already done so, check that the CRA data has been removed. This may take a while so, if it's still there now, warn Grattan's to remove immediately and check again in 2 weeks.

When you have your settlement and the adverse data removed from CRA records, you should contact the court and inform them of the discontinuance of your action.

Happy to report that CRA is clean (for this account anyway )

Cheque for remainder received today, thats a total now of just over 200 squid for the damages previously sorted, 600 balance write off and 900 odd for the dodgy PPI.

Will make a donation as soon as this ones cleared me thinks and spend the rest before Natwest get their hands on it ........lol

Thanks Slick, not sure if it means much but can assure you that I'd have had my doubts with proceedings without your continued support.

Never did quite get to the bottom of the companies act but guess it must have hit a nerve with the CEO of Grattan

Thanks again

Hi Gez,

The result is enough, but your appreciation is icing on the cake !!

Haha, the Companies Act stuff seems a long while back, but I think you can rest assured that it was some of Grattan's finest quality Taurus Excretum !!
