This log on issue only seems to occur when I use the front page login. If I click on quote on a thread I can get logged in that way.

Tried logging in via the normal login box on the top right of a forum page and was redirected to the same address that others have been, but not logged in to the forum itself.

But (as suggested) replying on a thread seems to log me in to the forum OK.

I can't try logging out as it doesn't allow me to log in in the first place. As soon as I hit the login button it transfers to Consumer Action Group

This happens on both the portal and the index page. As somebody pointed out log in works fine via reply.

I have tried logging in using Firefox on 3 diff pc's running both Windows and Linux and the same thing happens. Cookies and cache have been cleared and one was a fresh install.

Opera and IE still work fine.

My suggestions were directed to Conar, whose thread this is.

If anyone else has the same or related problems, then please start your own thread on the subject.

Please don't hijack someone elses thread for your own problem.

If this problem is common I do not mind the thread being used.

Not wishing to appear paranoid, I do hope I am not the subject of a 'miserable user' sanction, this covert means of moderation is in my mind totally unacceptable.

What is occurring and the time taken for it to be resolved is symptomatic of this hack. Miserable Users - vBulletin.org Forum

I require assurances that I am not subject to the above 'covert' moderation from the site team.

Conar let me assure you that you are not subject to the MU.

The problem you are having has been brought up in the past by users. As far as I can remember it usually sorts itself out.

Have you tried Roosters suggestion? Also try deleting all your cookies and try again.

Freaky I regularly use CC cleaner and Adv Windows Care to ouse keep my machine.

Re the MU sanction, thank you for your assurances, its more an annoyance rather than anything else.

I'll ask one of my IT engrs to look into the problem to see why I'm being directed to this site. They're all BYM so will prob come up with something.

Do you mean the CAG front page or the CAG forum front page? If if it the portal page, have you tried to log in via www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum ? That takes you straight to the forum bypassing the portal page.

Tks Bookie, it still takes me to the site stated above

Tried that Rooster, still being directed to that site. Is this site associated with CAG or is this some sort of 'attack' by the finance industry on the site users.

Any other ideas welcome, thanks for the tip

Good Morning Conar

I had a simular thing for weeks, and after Webby made some adjustments to the site, i have had no problems since.

What i did find out at the time was that my broadband provider, throttled back my broadband connection from 16mb to 2mb, because of the fair usage policy that they have. With my step sons downloading and gaming, the web became very slow for me. That maybe an area to check as well.

I will flag this up to Webby again in case he missed the original request made by the other mods.

That link Josie, gives me the forum main page.

UK A

Chk'd my download speed tho not sure why that's pertinent and its within acceptable parameters. Its not speed that the issue its the fact I'm being directed to some mickey mouse CAG site that does not transfer me to the forums nor does it allow said.

I'm starting to get a bit suss that I'm on some sort of secret moderation as mentioned before.

Interesting. :|

Certainly not a speed/connection problem. I can't imagine how it could be. ;)

With my current Firefox profile I am redirected as below when I attempt to login normally.

316kchu.png

However, with a brand new fresh and unsullied Firefox profile the problem does not occur.

It doesn't happen with a fresh Opera install/profile either.

But this is from a Linux box, so it's not a Windows problem that CC cleaner could fix.

What browser is this happening with for anyone else?

From my end it 'appears' to be a problem with Firefox in some way. Whether cookies/cache or extension remains to be seen.

I use Firefox.

If I Google "Consumer Action Group" and use the first link

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/

I will get the CAG main page.

However, if I use the second link

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/

It takes me straight to the forums.

No problems though either way.

If all else fails, kick them where it hurts and SOD'EM;)
