take it back to them - regardless of whether the item is discontinued, they are still responsable for the warranty. if they can't get it repaired then you tell them you want it replaced or your money back.

but that's my opinion - best wait for a more experienced bod to advise how to approach this.

That about sums it up.

Asda is normally quite good with returns. If they do not have that model then it will be a case of replacing it with another one or refunding you (which will probably not be the full amount but not far off).

Let us know how you get on

May be worth taking it back again and either hoping someone else is on customer services or asking to talk with a manager. Failing that do you have another asda store nearby

Or wrote in. Part 5A of SoGA is clear. If it cannot be repaired it must be replaced. If it cannot be replaced then a refund (partial) must be given or you can ask for money back (reducing the purchase price)

  • 5 weeks later...

I am suprised,as has been said,Asda are usually quite good.

Would have been better to have wrote a letter to CS rather than an email,or even a call to head office would probably have got you a response.

Anyway keep us posted.
