Police charged my neighbour with burglary today. Does this mean she will go to Court and if guilty what would the penalty be and compensation awarded to me for damages and theft would be paid by who?

No news on other matters!

Call the solicitor again

Go to your local council and show them proof that your neighbour has been charged with burglary and that you now fear for your safety, they should have a duty of care to re-house you

callumsgran, I will do that tomorrow. Good advice and divert my mind to somewhere else. Only prob which may stop me is waiting for the paper from the police confirming this.

 

Right now nobody is answering my calls or emails, this is why I am getting nowhere fast!

The newly formed Tenant Services Authority may be able or willing to help you. Thanks so much everyone. I did a bloody stupid thing on Saturday and took an overdose. Ended up calling 999 just before I keeled over into oblivion. I didn't want to die just felt so damn depressed and couln't take the situation anymore. Now I am covered in bruises with a very bad sore throat and my daughters are not talking to me.

 

After two more episodes of harassment over the Christmas and New Year period, one being human or dog faeces put right outside my door and the other where my front window had been forced open I went to Housing Options. I took various documentation to support my housing claim but was turned away with an application form for Westminster. I was told that they could not help because I wasn't homeless and should discuss it with Octavia. I gave them a letter from my HA dated 02 where it clearly states that I am on the transfer list catagory C but if I could provide medical evidence would be moved to A. My doctor wrote the same day. I tried to explain because of arrears I had not been considered for a transfer or home swap. They basically didn't give a toss.

 

I have decided that it is unsafe for me to return home and have taken refuge at a friends for the next few days. I am not sure how long I can stay and don't really want to be here but there doesn't seem to be anything else I can do.

 

My solicitor is writing a letter before action under the Judical Review and will send this to Westminster. Does anyone know what this means and how long it will take?

 

Also I have been reading cases that I found under the Housing Ombudsman and I have to say they are pretty grim. Not much compensation for what people have had to go through and quite a few people died before the cases were resolved. So right now I am not holding out much hope.

 

One has to know the law inside out and I cannot understand how a girl who falls pregnant can go and rent a private place for 100's each week and get it all paid for. Pity I am 50 otherwise I think that would of been my next move.

 

Maybe I should start a new thread as this is getting too long winded for me let alone all of you.

God Bless you LondonNW. I am so angry that you are having to go through all this. If I win the Lottery I will buy you a house, as long as you promise never to overdose again. Im sure it was just a cry for help. This happened to one of my best friend's mother, years ago. She was depressed and took tablets to end it all, but just as a cry for help, unfortunatly, she died. Please promise us all that you will never do this again.?!

Your Solicitors letter should carry some weight.

Its true that Local Ombudsmans intervention can take some time,but its likely that once the council get wind of you involving them.then they are likely to move more quickly than they have in the past.

No doubt your solicitor has quite a file of incriminating evidence now.

Theres not a lot more I can say thats not already been said-only to hang on in there.

 

An Ombudsmans rap of the council will offer good support for legal action later,and so while its true to say they may not award megabucks-they do have the powers to fine the councils good style.

If the Ombudsman therefore upholds your complaint and chastises the council,then it hould add more ammo for any claim against the council.

It Was Obvious From The Letter Octavia Sent Back To My Mp Who Is Being A Help, That They Didn't Even Bother To Take Some Time To Look At My Case And We Are Talking About The Director Of The HA.

 

It Is Disgusting.

 

There Answers Were That I Had Never Applied For A Transfer But If I Would Like To Make An Application They Will Look Into It. I Have A Letter Here From Them Confirming In Black And White That I Am On The List And Have Been Unable To Get Further Due To The Arrears.

 

They Stated That I Had Never Notified Them About The Harassment Until Recently. Hmmmmmmmmmm I Have Letters Again Going Back To 1998 When One Of The Nuisance Families Moved In Above Me And Threatened To Throw Me Over The Balcony.

 

They Ended With Because Of My Complex Financial Situation I Still Owe Them 3000 And 8.00 Per Week Has Been Deducted From Rent To Pay Back Housing Benefit But I Never Paid Them For Long. I Have Proof Here That I Paid Arrears Back From When I First Went To Court In 01 Right Up Until 07 And In Fact Cleared A Debt Of 2900 Only To Have Another 2015 Slapped On By Housing Benefit.

 

Omg I Have Tried To Be Patient But As You All Know In These Situations It Is Hard And I Guess I Couldn't Take It Anymore The Other Day.

 

When You Are Down You Get Kicked Further. I Am Just Wondering If I Manage To Get Hold Of About 1000 Could I Go And Rent Something Privately Or Will I Still Be Viewed As Making Myself Intentially Homeless. I Am On DLA Could I Apply For A Grant Or Social Loan, Anything Like That Because This Could Go On And On?
