well just to confuse matters further I received a letter from response credit management this morning, for a debt I have NO idea what is for, for £45.20!!

on the top in small letters it says skytrial...is this to do with sky because if it is fur will fly because I cancelled sky tv when I moved, so won't be happy at all if they've kept it going and I've now a debt in my name, not to mention what these cretin's are doing to my credit scoring no doubts!

do they have a DCA database...oh and yet ANOTHER that can't seem to get my MARRIED name, and if it is sky that WAS also in my married name....AGHHHHH!!!!:mad:

which letter do I send off to say what's this for please, again another that says ignored attempts when this is the first letter, will put what they said below, with saying skytrial in small writing am half tempted to phone but the advice here says to not phone?

and why do they always land on a Saturday, is it to ruin your weekend, oh no other letter with 'invoice' as yet neither! :p

letter from this one below...

Final Demand

You have previously ignored all our attempts to contact you to resolve the above outstanding balance that is due under your contract with our client. From our investigations we are aware that you are:

clearly listed as a telephone subscriber

resident at the above address

ignoring our attempts to contact you to resolve this situation

Should you not contact us to arrange payment you may leave us with no alternative, but to:

Refer your account to ScotCall who specialise in doorstep collections. This may result in an agent calling at your address to make the necessary arrangements to fully satisfy the debt.

Refer your account to our legal partner Geoffrey Parker Bourne Solicitors to progress via litigation

YOu MUST contact response credit management NOW to make payment and avoid further action being taken against you.

err...I ain't paying til know what it's for, and if this is sky as I cancelled as per their contract I'll be kicking up a right stink sadly, as for ignored, this is the FIRST letter I've EVER received from them...and I moved a YEAR ago!!! also are they using threats of 'specialise in doorstep collections' in that letter to try to scare?

Yep they are trying to scare you. Don't worry about doorstep collections as there is a letter you can send forbidding any doorstep collections coming to your home. Unfortunately I am a bit of a newbie and cannot remember where that letter is, BUT one of the vintage gang will be along soon and will help you with that.

Beating the DCA's day by day

My fight:

NDR - CCA'd 12+2 passed

Bank of Scotland - CCA'd 12+2 passed

CFS - Win by Technical Knock-out!

HFC Bank - CCA'd 12+2 passed

Chantry Collections - CCA sent

Time flies like an arrow

Fruit flies like a banana :D

Here's one for you:

Dear xxxx

Account Ref xxxx

Please be advised that I will only communicate with you in writing. I have noted your repeated attempts to contact me by telephone over the past few weeks/months and these have been duly logged by time and date.

Furthermore, should it be your intention to arrange a “doorstep call”, please be advised that under OFT rules, you can only visit me at my home if you make an appointment and I have no wish to make an appointment with you.

There is only an implied license under English Common Law for people to be able to visit me on my property without express permission; the postman and people asking for directions etc (Armstrong v. Sheppard and Short Ltd [1959] 2 Q.B. per Lord Evershed M.R.). Therefore take note that I revoke license under Common Law for you, or your representatives to visit me at my property and if you do so, then you will be liable to damages for a tort of trespass and action will be taken, including but not limited to, police attendance.

Yours faithfully/sincerely

Amend to suit, DO NOT SIGN, print your name, send recorded and keep a copy with the postal receipt.

purp, dont worry about it. Send the 'prove it letter' recorded delivery and dont sign it.

This should put your account in dispute (which should then stop the threat-o-matics)
