For some 25 years now,i have Receiving DLA Mobility Rate High and for about 10 years or so i have been on Incapacity Benefit and and housing benefit.

My Doctor advise me to Claim DLA Care componement,as it has got to the stage in my life i need help around the my flat,Cooking, cleaning and so on

and when i go shopping i need help with that now and need help when im out and about.

When i rang the DLA office up in Blackpool for a claim forum for DLA Care componement,i was told my Mobility componement may or may not be looked into again.

I must admit i did Panic a bit and i said i would seek more advice before putting in a claim for DLA Care componement.

To be frank i dont know what to do now,i need extra help ? but i dont want to end up risking my Mobility componement High rate been reduced or loosing it All Together.

Any advice would be welcome and please feel free to ask me any questions about my health within reason

Technically, when you are applying for your claim to be looked at again, your whole circumstances will be re-examined. this may lead to a decision which will increase or decrease your award. The "change of circumstances" form arrives in two parts; one is about your mobility and one (2a) about help with caring needs. There is also a letter which asks you tick which of these components you are asking to be looked at. in accordance with the ticks, you will be asked to fill in relevant form.

In practice; unless your change of circumstances gives rise to a reasonable suspicion that the other part of the DLA (in your case mobility) has changed, it should not be questioned. So, unless your current claim is not consistent with the information already provided, the agency will probably leave it alone.

Focus on your needs and compare them to how they were when you originally applied.
