  1. Hello again, Yet again something absolutely stupid has happened to me. My car has been stolen, but it couldn't be that simple. I have a red Alfa Romeo, SORN and uninsured, I took the engine out of it an transplanted it in my car, and took a few other bits and bats so it was just a rolling shell full of junk (became our skip as we knew we were getting rid). We towed it to the local scrap yard this morning (on an A frame which wasn't really legal). When we got to the gates, we realised we had forgot the V5. So unhooked the car, drove home and got it. When we got back to the scrap yard they were closed and the car was gone. It has no engine so it cant have been drove and the sod was heavy, on space saver wheels and with partially seized brakes so couldnt have been pushed. You can see the full scrap yard and it isnt in there, what do I do? It was towed illegally by my friend so I dont want him to get in trouble if they see him on CCTV. We also technically abandoned it to get the V5 so dont want the 2.5k fine for abandoning a vehicle. But I also dont want it to crop up a few months down the line when its found burned out, or dumped somewhere. So I cant really report it stolen can I? Also what do I do, just keep sorning it every year??
  2. Hi I have a default dated 26th October 2009 on my credit report. The default was actually issued 26th August 2009. Can I get this changed. or do they report a default as 2 month later for some reason. With thanks
  3. Seeing so many people that are having issues with loans company Provident I thought I would post up there 2014 year report so you can se where all of you fees and charges go. That is to get even more new customers to make their lives harder and get even more fees/more money. See the attachment of how they are doing including some of the other known companies under their umbrella.. Satsuma Vanquis Moneybarn and many more including the other countries the are in too
  4. "This report looks at how local welfare reform has developed over the last two years from the local authority and social housing point of view. It includes a look at some of the innovative ‘good practice’ that local authorities are using to address it. Our report is concerned with: • the impact of reform on the strategy, finances and administration of local authorities and their partners, including housing associations • the impact on welfare recipients to the extent that this has direct consequences for local authorities and housing associations • what the future might hold." This report makes for interesting reading and a worthwhile read see attachment (PDF) This information was gathered from here including the link to this report: http://localgovernmentlawyer.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=23008%3Acouncils-and-housing-associations-see-rent-arrears-and-evictions-rise&catid=60&Itemid=28
  5. My noddle report is pretty poor as it has 2 defaults on it which are 5 years old (and both currently being disputed). Today I paid the fee and viewed my experian report and that says I have excellent credit and no record of the 2 defaults? I have an old experian report from 2012 and that has one of the defaults on it, but not the other, but now they no longer appear on it. I even called experian to check, and she said there was no active record for them, so they are not part of the credit report. My 2012 report was in the region of ~700, but now it's mid 900's, and even says at the top that it has improved because there are no longer delinquent or defaulted accounts on it. One other thing that confuses me is that Experian have no record of my current bank account. They have my main bank account down as an old closed Barclays account. Again, I asked them and they said if the account was opened over 10 years ago it may be that my bank never agreed to share the information. So my credit score is now so good, do I risk calling my bank to ask them to share info? I've been a customer for 15+ years, have a 1500 OD that I basically live in. This may look negative!
  6. Hi, I'm hoping to get some understanding of exactly what an update of my credit file means and how, if possible, I can get it corrected. I have a mortgage with GE Home Lending. Around the time of a divorce, June 2013 I missed a payment on the Mortgage. I continued to pay the mortgage thereafter with one payment of arrears. About a year or so after missing that payment I contacted them to make an arrangement for the arrears to be cleared. Their response was along the lines of 'We will not enter into an agreement as the arrears are not serious enough' Based on that I decided to pay off 50% of the missed payment straight away. Six months later I paid off another 25% of the arrears. In early March of this year I paid off the remaining 25%. All is good so far. However, a few months ago I applied for a new mortgage in order to move house. I received an offer in principle so decided to market the house and sell it. I struggled to find a new place but last week I finally did. I needed a slightly higher mortgage amount so re-applied. I was immediately declined. The lender suggested that I look at my credit report as an adverse entry was added on 7th April. Having looked at my report, GE money added a '2' against my credit report for April. This applied to both Equifax and Experian. My credit report for this account shows Green for every entry prior to this. The new lender is reading this as me being two months in arrears with my Mortgage. I have provided bank statements to prove that I've been making payments on time but they are not interested. A huge black mark for obvious reasons. I have take this up with GE but I'm not making much progress. They accept that they have added an incorrect entry for April. They are proposing that they move the '2' entry to February '15. They claim that this two entry means that a payment was made later than 30 days, but less than 59 days. According two Equifax and Experian the 2 means that I missed two consecutive payments in February. Dealing with GE is like wading through treacle. I make countless calls and send numerous emails but I'm getting fobbed off time and time again. One minute they are fixing it. The next minute it's the credit reference agent's fault. I guess my question is a) what's the forum's view on the interpretation of a '2' recorded against a given month and b) if there's any advice anyone can give to help me get this corrected. Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for any help I.
  7. New Which? research has revealed a startlingly low awareness of the 7726 text service that enables you to report spam texts for free. A whopping 90% of people said they have never heard of this number to report spam text messages to their mobile phone provider. The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is now warning of an imminent increase in spam text messages following the changes to pension rules coming into force on 6 April. You can report spam texts directly to your mobile phone provider. All operators now use 7726 - with the exception of Vodafone who uses 87726 - as the short code to report spam texts which is free of charge. Once reported you should get an automated response thanking you for the report and giving you further instructions. http://www.which.co.uk/news/2015/04/most-people-in-the-dark-about-reporting-spam-texts-399675/
  8. I have noticed for the last few months, one debt appears twice on my credit report, with two companies - Nationwide and MKDP - both applying monthly defaults. A screenshot is attached. I am guessing that Nationwide sold the debt onto MKDP. However, if MKDP are listing a default date of 8 January 2009 (when it was sold on?), why would Nationwide then state a default date of 3 August 2009? Furthermore, if the debt is indeed owned by MKDP, then why does Nationwide continue to apply monthly defaults? Also, having read another thread on here regarding MKDP, is it likely that as of January 2009, MKDP did not actually hold a Consumer Credit Licence?
  9. Evening all, I'm looking for advise on a statutory demand. Today I have had a letter through the door saying they have tried to serve a sta demand and will return on the 3rd Of October to attempt again, saying if I'm not in (which I won't be because I will be at work) they will post it and class this as served. Now I'm not sure what I should do next. I've not made any payment or acknowledged any debt for nearly 4 years but still quite a way from the 6 year limit. what should I do about the stat demand,
  10. Had a good job, career, home, money, etc. Then had a prolonged period of inactivity, debts piled up, not opening letters, spiral of anxiety and stress. blah, blah. Now, for past year or so, been earning, and getting back on feet. Looking to start paying back, and deal with all my debts. Have done as much due diligence as I can, and need some pointers. I have a number of creditors, with debts totalling around 45K. Have been paying token payments of £1 to most, some more. Looking to get StepChange advice and help. But also need some idea of full and final offers to really motor down the debts. So, as a starter, here are some of my most pressing questions: 1: I am having difficulty filling in my Income and Expenditure, as my income fluctuates. (I am working freelance, as am probably too old to be employed by a company.) I am wary of entering payment schedule and failing. Prefer to keep paying token amounts, then offer surplus every 6 months or so. Would creditors go for this? 2: I understand the first step may be to get CCAs from my creditors. Are there any downsides to asking for CCAs? Would creditors sense that I am trying to wriggle out, and go for asking for more, or get heavy-handed? 3: Are CCAs only for debt companies, or even the Originating creditor? (some of my debts have been off-loaded to debt-companies.) 4: What is the purpose of SARs? How does that help me? I understand they might be for finding penalty fees, etc? I know I accrued a lot when I couldn't pay any amounts when I started my downhill slide. 5: When offering Full and Finals, do I go for the biggest first? 6: I have been sold from one debt-company to another on some debts, I dont know what I am paying for on some of the payments!! Can I just phone them up and ask where the original debt comes from? (I have signed up with noddle, and got my list of creditors and credit file, so I have a starting point. I have been reading this forum for a few days, and have built up some knowledge, and seen how helpful this site can be. I would like to ask for some help in taking the first steps for an eventual bright future. PS: would it be ok to list my debts (with some fudging to protect myself) as a starting point?

  13. Hi My son bought an Advent laptop from Currys around April 2013. In October last year it developed a graphic card fault and he took it back. The store told him that it was out of warranty and it was a chargeable repair. He thought fair enough and, not being able to afford it, left the store. I was telling a friend about it last month and he said to get it independently tested to see if it was an inherent fault. If so Currys would have to arrange a repair or replacement under the Sale of Goods Act. That's now been done and the report says it was an inherent fault. The store said to contact knowhow which my son did. They say they have to test it and it will cost £60. My son told them he had an independent report saying it's a manufacturer fault but they stll insist that they will charge £60 before taking the machine back. If its a manufacture fault they will refund the £60 He's worried that if he pays the £60 they will say it isn't a manufacture fault and I agreee as I wouldn't consider Currys the most independent of people. What are his rights please
  14. Last night (no doubt in preparation of Barry Beavis's Court of Appeal case in a few days times) the RAC Foundation issued a 64 page statement from a highly respected QC questioning the legality of private parking tickets. The document is stunning and is a 'must read' for anyone with an interest in these dreadful private parking tickets. http://www.racfoundation.org/assets/rac_foundation/content/downloadables/RACF_Private_Parking_Public_Concern_John_de_Waal_Jo_Abbott_February_2015.pdf
  15. ve just registered with Noddle to check my credit file out and couldn't quite believe what I saw. ( I cannot post a picture yet) so I have added a censored version below: Active Securities LTD Address Mark _________ Is A F**king Dead Man Cheshire WE'RE COMING I'm going to hit the "something wrong" button, but surely they shouldn't be able to post stuff like that on there? And just because I''ve got some finacial problems they shouldn't be able to threaten my life. just shows what low life **** were dealing with. Should I report this to the police? if so how?

  17. Hi, I am posting this on a few of the Shop Direct posts as I have been working on 3 claims on behalf of a relative and want everybody who has been charged by them to reclaim their charges and all applicable interest as these are possibly the most arrogant of all the companies I have dealt with and will firstly refuse your requests and then as it goes on breach the court procedures and ignore the judges requests until they ultimately settle as of they have no defence and no desire to go in front of a judge. The final outcome on the claims is posted below as the e-mail sent to me for my relative. Shop Direct have still not paid the sums stated in the e-mails in full and have part paid so still looking to court. Please click the star if this is informative and feel free to contact or reply to this post for any assistance. I have just advised the defendant to make the following account credits, which I believe satisfy your *******'s claims: Claim No 1QT08206 re account ref ******** (Littlewoods) Credit to the account of £175.79 Claim No 1QT09646 re account ref ******** (Very) Credit to the account of £251.72 Claim No 1QT24916 re account ref ******** (Choice) Credit to the account of £137.12 - to include the charge of 30/4/11. I understand that the adjustments will take place on Monday. Regards

What Action should i take? Regards Consortium
  19. Hi all, Today I received a claim form out of Northampton CCBC from MKDP dated 20/03/14 and in the amount of £6500 inc court fee PoC: The claimant claims the sum of £6XXX.XX being monies due from the Defendant to the Claimant under a regulated agreement originally between the Defendant and HSBC Bank Plc. The Defendants's account number was XXXX and was assigned to the Claimant (end of) 2011, notice of this has been provided to the Defendant. The Defendant has failed to make payments in accordance with the terms of the agreement and a default notice has been served pursuant to the Consumer Credit Act 1974. The Claimant claims the sum of £6XXX.XX and costs. The Claimant has complied, as far as is necessary, with the pre-action conduct practice direction. From information shown on my credit file I THINK the claim is for a credit card. There is an entry for MKDP for the same value relating to an HSBC cc but the partial account number bears no resemblance to that quoted on the claim form. The account opened date shown on the credit file info is March 2007. I do not recall receiving a Notice of Assignment, nor a Default Notice from the original creditor (although I could not categorically deny it). I have prepared a CCA1974 request to MKDP (from the templates section) and CPR34.14 request made out to the solicitor named on the claim form (I assume that I send this to the address show for the Defendant?), both of which I intend to send recorded delivery tomorrow. I have also enrolled on the moneyclaim website and accessed the claim ready to respond to the claim but am a little confused as to which response I should choose... do I at this stage complete the Acknowledgement of Service and request 28 days or do I start a dispute? Given that I have very little/no information regarding the original account am I right in thinking I should also issue a SAR to HSBC? Anything else I need to do/consider at this stage? All help GREATLY appreciated; thanks in advance!
  20. I got into quite a bit of financial trouble some years back and, through hard work and kindness from my family, managed to climb out of most of it. Unfortunately, MBNA were one of my creditors and they weren't at all helpful in resolving my problems. To cut a long story short, I paid off pretty much all of my debts apart from MBNA who were receiving a minimum payment each month (and I was watching the debt reduce by maybe 5% of the minimum payment). I had a 20% pay cut and something had to give - MBNA were it. I rang them and explained what had happened and asked for help; they refused to give me any. Eventually, I didn't have any choice but to stop paying them. I'm now back on full pay, but before that happened, I received a letter from Link Financial Outsourcing telling me the debt had been passed to them for collection - all £8,000 of it. Fair enough, my own fault. I rang them and asked the guy I spoke to if I could set up a repayment plan. I racked up the debt, I expect to have to pay it back. Somewhat unbelievably to me, he refused. When I asked why, he said they like to give people time to try and arrange a full and final payment. I told him that wasn't going to be possible and that I'd like to set up a repayment plan. He refused again, again citing that I should be able to raise the funds. In three weeks. I asked how he expected me to do that and he said I could probably get it from family and friends. I told him I wasn't going to do that, couldn't do that. He said I'd have to try. I accused him of being less than helpful and he said he'd been very helpful and very reasonable - after all, he'd offered to reduce the final payment amount to £6000 and given me a month to raise it. Then he terminated the call. They called me a few more times to see if I'd raised anything. Each time I spoke to them, I asked them if I could set up a repayment plan as it wasn't going to be possible for me to raise such an amount in such a short time. They refused each time. At one point, I asked why I couldn't pay them back over time.. . I was told that because I was a home-owner, they wouldn't accept a repayment plan, they'd just take me to court. I asked what they hoped to achieve from that, and they said it was their company policy. This morning, I've received a Letter Before Action stating that court proceedings will now be issued against me by IDR Finance UK Limited (who?) without further notice. I'm pretty stressed about this and I really have no idea what to do. Please, please, help! I am not trying to weasel out of the debt - as I said, I made mistakes and I admit I owe money and I want to pay it off; but there's just no way I can pay £8000 (or even £6000) in one go. I'm terrified that they'll take me to court and somehow find a way to take my house. I don't know if that's possible, but it keeps me awake at night. I have a wife and three young children and times are tight. All I want to do is to come to some agreement with them and start paying them off! If anyone has any advice on what I should do, I'd be very grateful. Thanks for reading.
  21. Have there been any recent changes in what cca request we send ie Credit card cca and loan cca? Mr W
  22. Hi Everyone, I used to be a director of a estate agency around 8 years ago, the company was dissolved quite soon after that. As far as I know there weren't any debts owed to anyone. I checked my credit report a few days ago and am shocked to see a CCJ for £192, after calling Norwich County Court its turns out that the money is allegedly owed to a a company called Agency Express which provide for sale signs to estate agents. Although we did use that company I am not aware of any debt owed to them, even if I did all business was done though the ltd company. The CCJ is under my name albeit, not my full name, Ric instead of Richard and the address on the CCJ is the wrong door number, I live at 150, the door number recorded is 153. The CCJ was granted in Aug 2009. What can I do about this, can I have this set aside as any paperwork would have gone to the wrong address, also I feel that I cannot held be liable for any debts relating to the ltd company. I hope someone can give me some advice
  23. Hi All, I'm hoping someone here can assist me with MKDP/Compello/Raven etc. For some time (years) I have been receiving letters from the above to my mothers house about an outstanding debt to Welcome Finance, I was duely ignoring them as I was not aware of any debt. Some time ago I re-registered on the electoral role after getting married and moving to a new house with my now wife, it would seem this meant the "group" knew to send letters there instead. I finally decided enough was enough when the "group" started calling the house, and so wrote them the attached letter. They responded after a few days saying they would supply the requested information which arrived today In the envelope they sent is a signed Welcome Finance Personal Loan Agreement that I had taken out in 2003 and several "Welcome Financier : Loan History" sheets showing direct debit payments that I had paid with the final one on the 22/02/06 (which is when I started University not that this is relevant). Then there is an entry for a "Cash Payment" on the 22/12/2008 which I have no recollection of at all. I guess my questions here and advice I require are: By my asking for proof of the debt mean I have accepted knowledge of it? I believe this is to be Statute Barred this year even working off this dubious cash payment date? Could it be possible this Cache payment has been fictitious added to skew the dates? Thanks in advance, Glenn
  24. Hi all, I have 2 bank account, one is Halifax other Lloyd's. On my Halifax account I could go overdraft £1250, in 2013 I move to new place and forget to inform Halifax bank about my new address, and at that point I did not use Halifax account at all. I was on overdraft around £500. At the beginning of 2014, Halifax canceled my overdraft, which I realize in March 3 months later, I quickly repay outstanding fee, informed about my new address and start using this bank account more often. Recently I was shopping for mortgage and have been informed that I had 3 late payments on my Halifax account (outstanding £500 - my overdraft has been canceled). This mess up my credit score big time from 966 went down to 677!!! It was my fault I know, but is there any chance to fix that for example by witting a goodwill letter if yes, have anyone did it? Has other advice? Thanks for helping
  25. Hi All, Hoping you can help. A couple of years ago I got in a mess with payday loans, all were paid off via step change last November. However CFO lending and Payday Express are still causing me a headache. Payday express show a default with an outstanding balance of £645.00 and CFO lending are showing as satisfactory but with an outstanding balance of £645.00 - I have tried calling and emailing both companies to get this resolve but I am getting no response whatsoever. Is there anything I can do about this??? Thanks in advance
