  1. Hi Everyone, I'm really worried sick at the moment and i was hoping someone on here could be of assistance. I've had all of my paypal funds sent to various dodgy looking companies to the total of £950. I had recently been doing a bunch of selling on eBay so the funds were sat in there so i could pay the fees. I raised an unauthorised transaction report for all of the transactions as well as changing all of my security questions and login info and they've come back saying that they don't detect any unauthorised usage so will not be assisting me. I called them and they said there is nothing more i can do. Since this has happened, i've lost loads of sleep and been feeling very sick with worry and their unwillingness to help me is making it all worse. Does anyone know what else i can do to get this money back. As it came from my PayPal balance, i'm not able to raise a card dispute. Thanks
  2. Ok this is a lengthy issue but I'm going to add this step by step rather than just rambling on. 1. Purchased a contract phone via affordable mobiles. FREE Samsung Galaxy S5 on a £35 a month contract with EE/T-Mobile. 2. Very soon realized the signal was terrible and hardly anything worked, calls, texts, 4G etc ... 3. Contacted T-Mobile to cancel ... They said I would have to pay up the contract in full since they only promise "A Service" not a "Perfect Service". After an hour of talking they agreed to cancel the contract without a termination fee ..... IF I could get affordable mobiles too agree. 4. Contacted AffordableMobiles and they said they would need it in writing from an EE / T-Mobile staff member that they would be happy to cancel. 5. I managed to get it in writing from a lovely woman at EE after using some charm on her. 6. Emailed it to AffordableMobiles who informed me that they accepted the written agreement and too send the goods back. Ok here is where it gets a little ..... strange. 7. Sent the goods back via Hermes around December time and ...... They lost it!! 8. Hermes paid out compensation and confirmed in writing that they lost my parcel. 9. I contacted AffordableMobiles and informed them of this with proof and they said ok I'll just have to pay for the goods instead and they will contact me in due course with a bill and confirmation that the T-Mobile contract had been cancelled. 10. A month went by and heard nothing so I emailed them and they just repeated the same. 11. Then in February I received a bill from T-Mobile asking for the full contract amount which I agreed to pay £10 a month as I assumed AffordableMobiles instead of cancelling the contract just decided to let me rot with T-Mobile. 12. However this month I have now received a bill from A1 Comms stating "Since we cancelled your T-Mobile contract you owe us £335 for the goods you received from us" (Phone is now worth £266 in stores) 13. I contacted AffordableMobiles (Since A1 Comms only seem to have a business email and not personal) but they are yet to reply. That's over a week ago And here is where you guys come in. Clearly the contract was never cancelled since I'm paying it off with T-Mobile as we speak. The phone is FREE aslong as I'm paying the contract which I am. So I feel it's impossible for me to owe two places for one contract agreement. Any advice would be nice.
  3. Hello, need some help on this one. I just got a PCN in the post. I stopped in a yellow box, they have evidence and I was in the wrong - That's all fact and that's fine. The problem is, the issue date of the letter was 27/5/2016. Today's date is 15/6/2016. That's a 19 day difference and means I have not had a chance to pay the 50% reduced fine. What do I do? The envelope has no date on. It's from hammersmith & fulham council. :-x
  4. Very unhappy. I cannot reach your complaints team so I'm tweeting you and using Facebook too Monday morning I will be contacting the FCA and possibly the ombudsman. We had the optica 7042c, primarily for the screen response time (8ms 100hz) as I'm a gamer, cash price on this is £897.99 (£1558 total with interest). With this we had the all sorted (cash £270 total £470) and EPS insurance premiums (£280) both of these covers we never asked for. when our TV broke we were shocked that we had cover. The TV was found to be not fixable - you told us you're replacing it. The TV we have received is second hand and unacceptable I would Value it between £50-£100 the screen refresh rate is no good and I get serious motion blur now. I feel like I'm being ripped off I do not expect to pay an extra £750 for cover, especially cover i did not ask for, to get a second hand piece of junk. Your t&c's state that a TV of similar age and specifications would be provided if my TV was from the valueline range, it was not, not at £900 before interest. P.s I will be posting this to my wall and keep re-posting to various pages and sites periodically until I feel this has been resolved. I very annoyed that you would try to take me for a fool. Anybody have any idea about buy as you view insurance and warranty policy? We were given extended warranties and insurance without permission from ourselves, TV broke down with nine days left so feeling OK about that. The problem is they have replaced our £900 TV with a second hand refurbished set that I would not pay £100 for. They say they replace with similar spec but I picked the old set for the screen response time and this replacement doesn't come close.
  5. Hi I'm contacting you about an issue I'm having with xercise4less gym as I've seen you helped people on here , i cancelled my dd on 13th November last year thinking this is all I had to do not having a contract, I have received in total 4 letters 3 telling me my dd has been cancelled and each time an admin fee is added of £25 totalling £69.98 i sent the first letter you told someone to send about not being able to enforce the fees and I've since received a 4th letter now saying- Further to our recent letter to our offices , You will need to send this information to exercise for less directly as we do not deal with cancellations. Please note: your account must be up-to-date with all payments with a direct debit in place in order to be eligible to cancel. Filling in the online form without these requirements met will not work. Your missed payments consist of your November and December payments and two Administration charges as per the terms and conditions for the total of £69.98. We will await to hear from them regarding the cancellation. Yours sincerely , Please could you advise as to what if anything I could send back thanks in advance.
  6. For those that haven't seen this. Some tumble dryers from the Hotpoint- Indesit- Creda range have had a safety alert issued. If you have one of the affected models, complete the form for a free modification. http://safety.hotpoint.eu/ Unfortunately, I am one of those affected
  7. Hi All, I took a contract out in my ex-partners name in 2010 (Very silly of myself) He managed to default a account and also open another account under my name as he had full access to the account via customer services. The second account has numerous late payments on the account. The first account is now closed with the defaulted account being satisfied as of 2013. Upon looking at the accounts, and my main question which I want answering/help with escalating. Both accounts appear under his address (which is different to mine) as he paid for the bills, he had to enter the address as his own for the payment to be accepted. My issue is, obviously three say that the accounts are my own financial management and I accept this, but legally are they allowed to change the address on my credit report? I never have lived at his address. The payments what made the link have ALWAYS been paid via his Debit card in his name, surely a payment from a different name does not justify the change? How can I argue this with 3 to remove the address link and possibly remove the account information? Thank you in advanced. Sorry!! the first sentence is wrong, I took out a contract for my EX partner in my name.
  8. Hi all. Hoping someone can help me. I claimed universal credit on 12th april and believed i had to incur 7 waiting days which is fine then my payment period would run from 20th april to 19th may. I am now being told i wont receive a payment til 2nd june. I believed the payment should be on 26th.....has anyone got any idea of how i can calculate when it should actually be as this seems an awful long time to wait
  9. Hello, Looking for some advice on an issue I currently have with Three UK. In 2013 I rang Three to discuss a cheaper tariff for my ongoing phone contract. The call went well and they offered a new tariff at £15 a month. Brilliant! However, last week I received a demand for payment for a three account that I had no idea was in existence. It appears the new £15 a month tariff was actually a new contract! I was under no impression that when I agreed to £15 a month they were in fact opening a new contract in my name, and not changing the tariff on the contract I already had in place with them. Three are not being helpful at all - they say that when I used the new £15 a month deal I accepted its terms and conditions. They did send a new sim but in my naivety I just thought this was normal practice for changing tariffs. I should have checked this, but at the same time I had no further contact regarding the original contract, which was accruing monthly line rental up until the point they cancelled the contract due to non payment - some 2 years ago now. No request for payment has been received until Lowell sent me a letter saying they have bought the debt (including a dodgy looking notice of assignment from Three). All correspondence with Three has been with their Executive Office, and they are flat refusing my version of events and claim I must have known there was two contracts as I have used the sim card in question. They can't provide written or verbal evidence that I accepted the contract while on the phone back in 2013. The new/later contract was issued by their direct sales team in Glasgow over the phone. Could anyone suggest the best line of action from here? Thanks for taking the time to read.
  10. I am a 51 year old male living in Kent and really could do with some help please? Long story short, I got into trouble 13 years ago when my partner passed away leaving me with joint unsecured debts of around £10k. I foolishly turned to Spectrum in mid-2005 and I entered into a DMP where I thought I was clearing it. Sadly, I was mis-sold this and was told 2 years ago, I had not cleared any of it and the interest had accumulated. I cancelled my agreement with them, I contacted Cabot (I think as that was the only company I remembered) at the time in the spring/summer 2014, I didn't admit to anything and I never heard anymore. I have been working abroad off and on (Freelance Cameraman and gotta go where the work takes me) and was not aware of how bad the situation until Friday when I got the Northampton court letter which was dated on Feb 10th for a loan from Cabot via MBNA. I do not have any of the original paperwork as my car was set on fire in the riots nearly 5 years ago and my case with papers were gone. I am wondering what I should do? I have acknowledged the action and sent a CPR-18 letter to their solicitors asking for more info. Please can someone throw some light on this for me please? I'm quite worried this may go the wrong way and will have an impact on my new wife. Ta - Mike
  11. Hello there. I have been served an N1 claim form from a dodgy builder I sacked for substandard work. The Statement of truth has been filled in by an unknown party ( Name printed and signed) but they have not stated who they are. They are NOT the claimants solicitor as he doesn't have one. Neither Claimant ,Litigation friend or Legal representative has been selected from the options and neither has the name of firm or position held . It seems clear to me that the statement of truth is not binding and the form should not have proceeded through the court system with this error. I am in court this Wednesday the 20th April. The question is - Is this claim form legally binding . What is my legal position. Is the claim void in its current state. Thank you.
  12. Hi folks - any help would be well welcomed me and my now wife signed up to lifestyle on a 12 month deal but in december we found out she was expecting our first child knowing we wouldnt get the use i rang and cancelled the direct debit ( we had paid 10 months each ) silly of me i know! i received a letter or two from harlands and now ive received the one from the crs group - i rang and spoke to someone who said they could help me out buy taking £50 off the total in a panic i said i wouldnt be able to pay because of lack of funds and i thought we would have to go down the bankruptcy route . the guy said he would make that note on my account and hang up the phone im really worried now have i done something really stupid ? can this effect my credit rating that i need to keep in good condition should i just ring and pay ?
  13. Hi, It's been a long time since I needed to come onto this site but it looks like I'm back again. I need help but really don't know if helps going to be possible now. Ok here is what's going on so far. background info For the last five weeks I have been at my mums house, I'm diagnosed with bipolar and things have been pretty bad. I've been back and forwards to the doctor to get help, their mental health clinic and 9 days ago things hit critical mass and the doctor called in the mental health crisis team who have been visiting me daily and will be for the foreseeable future. I live alone and after a massive problem with new meds given to me by the doctor I moved back to mums for my safety. I'm on yet another set of meds that at least has started to let me focus on things hence being back on here for help. My problem Arriving home I have found two letters, the first a notice of issue of warrant of control. Dated 15th March 2016. It states that I owe Marlin Europe I £804. To be paid by the 29th March 2016. Posted on the 18th March. The second letter was hand delivered I have no idea when and this is a notice of first visit, talking to neighbours there was somebody at my door earlier today but the date on the letter is the 1/4/2016. My daughter went to check the house on Saturday and said she didn't see any mail so I don't think it was delivered on Friday of Saturday. The letter also stated I have until 10am on the 6th of April to pay the amount owed. Now the bit I need help with I haven't to my knowledge had anything to do with Marlin Europe, I have no idea who they are, I also have no idea when all of this was started and have had no paperwork from the courts. I have been through everything I've received since Christmas to check to make sure I haven't missed anything. I really don't know if I have any options or do I just roll over accept it and try to come to some agreement with them, but since my income is esa at the moment they can't have a lot. I would be very grateful for any help, this has come out of the blue
  14. Dear all, Please find my account details below. Cancellation and porting date: 29/12/2015 Having spent over 150 pounds a month for years with Vodafone I was unable to upgrade at a better rate than that offered online for new customers so decided to move my service to O2. I spoke to a customer service agent to cancel and port my number on 29/12/2015. I was told that I would not incur any penalties but would have the pay line rental for the 1 notice month period. Was given a PAC code and moved my service to O2 on the same day. I have been up and running with O2 but for some reason all my incoming calls are going straight to Vodafone voice mail. I have been in touch with both O2 and Vodafone at length with this issue and the problem is still not resolved, instead being told that Vodafone is not at fault and that they are no longer my service provider. Having further investigate into this matter I can see that Vodafone have been having issues with porting for some time now due to a new system they have installed and have even been investigated by Ofcom. Furthermore EU regulations require that phone numbers be ported within one working day, and that customers do not lose their service for longer than that and it has been over 2 months! I rely on my mobile number for business and have missed out of business opportunities, employment opportunity and almost missed my flight due to this issue. As you can see I have also copied the Ombudsman services into this matter and will be passing this email to Ofcom as this issue just does not seem to get resolved. Last week on the 11th of March they sent me a text that they will refund me something not sure what and also I got a cancellation of direct debit email and I finally started to receive calls and messages after 2 months. I was happy and hopefull only to find out today 15th of March that they haven't cancelled my account, that the porting is still not done and they sent me a new bill for 66£ due by the 24th of March. I spent in total in excess of 50 hours with them on the phone, their web chat where they sent you doesn't work and I email them and I ask for them to respond in writing as they lied to me via phone numerous times since December and they refuse to email. I asked to set up a meeting to show them my contract with O2 since 29th of December and explain face to face what they are doing wrong I was refused. All the store managers are telling me to call Vodafone customer service which is sending me in circles to speak with O2 and O2 is telling me the porting is done correctly. I believe O2 because since the 11th of March both my outgoing and incoming calls are O2 and I have a written contract with O2 since 29th December 2015. I think is just a way Vodafone keeps you hostage in a contract and untill they decide to resolve the issue they drain you and charge you. For 3 months I am paying 2 bills, 2 contracts on the same number Vodafone and O2. Why Vodafone is not letting me go I don't know!?
  15. Hi, Thanks for reading this thread and any help or advice will be appreciated. We were with Vodafone for quite a few years before being enticed away to a new provider. We had 3 phones all registered in my wife's name under 1 account. My wife contacted Vodafone 3 months before our contract was due to end and was told they could do nothing and requested that she call back with a months notice. Not a problem, one month before the end of contract my wife contacted them and requested the contract end in one months time. Now, Vodafone cancelled ONE PHONE from the contract but left the other 2 active. A company called Fredrickson International have now been in contact seeking to collect £400, Fredrickson to their credit have been very good. We have had many discussions with both Fredrickson and Vodafone all to no avail. Vodafone insist we owe £400 and we must pay. We are very keen to take Vodafone to court over this. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks Graham
  16. I created a UseNeXT account not long back and after creating the account, I went to paypal and did my usual check of seeing if it was a recurring payment setup and to my finding there was none, so I had thought I was safe. Well that was until a few hours ago when I just noticed that I've had a paypal charge of £79.84 or so and as a student I simply cannot afford that.. I have my flat to pay for and food. I've contacted UseNeXT support and hopefully should get a reply soon, so I'll have to comment on what happens. *EDIT* As a update, they've replied and fortunately have been very forgiving. Paypal needs to easily display what you have transactions that you can be charged from. I looked for it as soon as I opened the account and saw nothing when clicking "Details" on a transaction.
  17. Hi all, Have what I think a slightly odd situation with Barclays at the moment, appreciate anyone's thoughts. Years back I got into a dispute with Barclaycard, that ended with me being issued with a Default in December 2010. They then sold on the account to MKDP not long after, who hounded me for years, took me to court, but I saw them off. I recently checked my credit report and noticed that this same account had had all this time 2 defaults registered against my name, by both Barclays and MKDP. MKDP registered their default 30 days after Barclays, who did theirs 7 months after the Default Notice, so there was obviously an overlap of some kind. Naturally I complained to the credit ref agencies who said they could do nothing, so I complained directly to Barclays. They upheld my complaint, but their response still puzzles me. I'll quote:- '...I have been unable to locate any record of a formal demand being issued to you. In view of this we can arrange for the default to be fully removed, however we would have to replace the default data. As your account has been in arrears since that time, this is what would be reported. The default will be removed 6 years from the date it was registered, however if we remove this the account would remain on your credit file 6 years from the date it was settled. This could mean that it would impact you for longer.' Are they saying that yes, we messed up but ironically if we sort it out you will be even worse off? if the default is removed how can that make things worse? when would the 'settled' date be, when it was sold on to MKDP? bit confused by this one. Barclays have offered to change the date to match the (later) date of MKDP so only one default should show (not even sure if that would work). Any thoughts welcome. I'll decide if I should just let it run its course, or choose to pursue further. Thanks in advance.
  18. A bit of a strange experience today. I had to wait about 45 minutes for a train, I thought that I would do that inside the station concourse as I usually do. I decided to wait near some shops inside, all of which were closed. A security guard approached me, told me that he was closing the retail section of the station and asked me to move on. I did as instructed and, headed for one of the waiting rooms. After entering the gents, I noticed that he had followed me in there. He didn't seem to use the toilet. He just stood there watching me. I left and sat down at a seat in the waiting room, planning on getting some work done on my laptop, only to have him stand in front of me staring at me. I asked him what his problem was, but he didn't reply. I left the waiting room, hoping that he wouldn't follow me, but he continued to do so. I asked him to leave me alone, at which point a British Transport Police officer walked by and asked what was going on. The security guard told him that the station was closing and that I was refusing to leave. I explained to the BTP that the station was still open for over two hours as I knew the time of my last train home. BTP then asked the security guard if I had been asked to leave the station, to which the reply was 'Yes'. I explained that I had been asked to leave the retail section, not the station, and that I had done as instructed. At this point the BTP asked to see my rail ticket. I showed it to him and he claimed that it was invalid. I claimed that it wasn't. The dispute was then taken to a revenue protection officer, who decided to issue me with a penalty fare as, despite the station I was at being the station I had to change at to get home, the ticket didn't permit me to wait inside the concourse for 45 minutes. Apparently I should have left and stood outside the station before returning to catch my train. My ticket was confiscated and I was left with a long walk home. I'm not really sure what to make of this as three members of rail staff appear to have got it all horribly wrong. What can I do from here though?
  19. Hi, I have a problem which I know I am partially to blame for and not sure how to go about it. I took out a loan with Naylors Finance back in 2011ish (not exact sure on date now) it was all cleared up on time. I found Naylors through my sister who is a regular customer. Over the last 6 months or so I have been working hard to get my finances on track and build my credit record up to a better level. When I joined one of the credit companies it was showing that I had renewed this loan many times since I had finished paying for it, after speaking to my sister she admitted it was her renewing it in my name as she has got herself in a bit of a mess. we talked and she said she was paying it and wouldn't take out anymore when it is cleared. After checking today the account is now in arrears as payments have not been made since christmas. So of course it is affecting me, My only option is to pay this off myself to try and save my file again. Even though I am annoyed with my sister I understand what she is going through and how desperate you can get when in financial trouble and credit is easy available. but I am angry at the fact the agent that has been allowing these loans is the same agent that did my original loan back in 2011 so she knows that the fraud was happening and allowed my signature to be forged on the documents, also the address that is been used is a previous address of mine so it looks like i'm still taking out credit in old addresses. If I ring the company up and pay this loan off then report this agent will they take this further with my sister or do I have to let the agent get away with it also. Thanks in advance
  20. Hi to everyone on the forum. If anyone could offer any guidance with this problem I would be grateful. Traded in my car and purchased an Audi A4 from SSc Huddersfield on 17.01.16. Informed by the salesman that the car came with a spare key. Agreed at time of purchase that I would call by at a later date with the spare key of my trade in vehicle and I could collect the spare key of my new car. Stated on the sales invoice "spare key to be exchanged for p/x spare key". I received a txt on 03.02.16 asking to contact the sales guy regarding the spare keys. I phoned the guy and it was agreed I would call in their showroom on the following Saturday. Went to the dealers on the Saturday and handed over the spare key to my old car only to be told the key for new car was locked in a desk drawer and the person with the drawer key had gone home but not to worry we will post your key out Monday recorded delivery and that I would have Tuesday. I got home from work on the Tuesday evening and nothing had been delivered, I phoned the car dealership to speak with the salesperson only to be told he was busy and would call me after 18.00. No phone call received. I phoned again Wednesday and got hold of the salesperson I had been dealing with from the start, he told me that his assistant had been trying to phone me to confirm my address details so the key could be posted to me but she couldn't contact me . I told him I had not had any missed calls or voicemails, his reply was "oh I need to speak with my assistant, your key will be posted out tomorrow (11.02.16) and you will have it Friday. here we are today and no key has been delivered, I have emailed the dealers for the courier details and tracking number but have not received any reply yet. My problem is that to replace the spare key it costs around £250 to replace then the car needs taking into Audi and all keys need recoding, so not cheap. What steps would the people on this forum recommend taking next?
  21. I have been trying to resolve an issue with my credit file with Barclays for a number of months. The reason for missed payments on a barclayloan was related to a serious illness which was impacting my memory. Unfortunately I am having to chase up the Senior Complaints Handler from Barclays Executive Office, every day. But there is no progress in resolving the issue. As the missed payments started towards the end of 2009. There was an amendment to the collection date and funds that should have been collected from the account to pay for the loan were not being collected at the correct date and therefore there were in sufficient funds in the account. This continued throughout 2010. I have tried to escalate matter to other senior management within Barclays from the CEO downwards but my issue is always referred back to the Senior Complaints Handler who advises there's no point in me trying to escalate matter as the issues will always come back to him to deal with. I am going round in circles, can anyone help.
  22. Sent RD two days ago and as yet has failed to show up on line as signed for..
  23. Hi All Is there a representative from Scottish power on cag ? Andy
  24. I really do not know if anyone can help me with this but I need some advice. It is a long story my ex-husbands daughter accused my brother of rape about 5 years ago and said that it took place when she was 6 in my home. (my ex and his daughter was staying at my home as he was beaten up where he was and I allowed them to stay temporarily). She was 13 at the time she made the allegations. My brother was arrested and went to court where she changed her story 3 times and my brother was found not guilty by jury. She was placed in foster care due to her behaviour and making allegation against male teacher at her school and her own father. Further to this, she accused my brother of rape a second time in my parents home a year later and again my brother was arrested and my parents home stripped by police (one room) and he was let out on bail. She then absconded from her foster home and with friends went to my parents home and smashed a window in the front door. She also went around telling some of the neighbours that my brother was a paedophile and he was nearly beaten up by a few boys however they were spoken to by Police. About 2 days later his daughter texted me and apologised and said that she lied. We were informed by the local Police that a voice note had been placed on her file stating that she made false accusations and she had been moved out of the area. When she turned 16 she moved back in with her father who lived in our borough and he moved to another borough. I have now been told that although she has moved to another borough she will have the options of moving back to our borough when she i 18 in 2 weeks time. She has already sent me a message last year on facebook messenger with abuse a nd has also sent my brother messages under an alias which unfortunately he deleted. My brother has learning difficulties and what she did affected him very badly and continues to affect him and also affected my parents. We do not want her back in the borough but how do I go about informing Social Services in this borough about this? Help please:sad::sad:
  25. I have been with the same company for many years firstly when they were Telewest and later companies. I have had reason to complain regarding their 14% package increase from February 2016. The increase is on a package that costs me just £24.49pm. Now with this increase I was given a GWJ of a nice amount. The issue arose due to their DD system and my banks one. This resulted in VM taking a DD 5 days before the due date. I sent an email to the CEO's office and was called back a few minutes ago. The result was well surprising to say the least. VM have a little known or advertised service that helps those customers that have a Care line pull cord alert system. What this means is if the customer notifies VM that they have one installed they will be placed in a priority group for repairs to the landline if it goes faulty even on a same day repair. This I never knew about until moments ago. Although I have had a pull cord installed for a few years now. Since VM are now aware of this my account now has a flag attached to it. This could be great news for anyone else that is a customer of theirs and has a help cord installed that links to their local authority care service. So some great news from VM for a change. I have posted this information here because it could help customers in this group from being without their landline. Also within this group VM has stated they will not suspend or terminate a user if they are registered, they may lose any other services like TV and broadband but their telephone line will remain open. Good news for a change well done....
