  1. Hi. I just have a question regarding ESA. My husband had spinal surgery in October and has been on ESA since the end of September. He has received a letter saying he has to attend a medical on the 13th February but thats the day he is due back to work and all being well he will go back that day. Do I ring and tell them that he is back to work that day and they should cancel the appointment for the medical? Many Thanks
  2. Hello all i too have been stopped at a shop for shoplifting (it is very stupid of me and i do regret it) and i have undergone the as before mentioned procedures. i was told i'll be receiving a letter by RLP to pay a fine and i'm currently waiting on this letter. i have read on this forum a lot that i should ignore the RLP fine, however i would like to know how people on this forum know about the lack of significance of RLP. It has been reassuring, but I would like further reassurance. I am very worried about my CRB record as i have had no criminal history before, and i would like further information about why RLP should be ignored, and why the shop that i have shoplifted from won't call the police after i have been taken to the back and warned etc. Many thanks

  4. Hi members, I'm a muslim and I'm working in European Retail super market for more than two years. If I guide muslim customers about halal food, then do I do something wrong? Today one muslim man bought some food item, which was not halal, i told him that the food item, what you have bought is not halal. Then he asked me to do refund that food-item. I did refund. But my supervisor did my complaint to my manager and my manager got very angry on me and spoke with me very harshly. He was just about to kick me out of my job. I just want to know that 1) did I do anything wrong? 2) Is this valid reason to terminate my job? 3) I felt that now they will deal me in different way, and they will try their best to get rid of me? what I should suppose to do in this situation? I will be thankful to you guy, if you will share your knowledge with me. Looking forward for replies. thanks
  5. So i was filling out my provisional drivers license and i filled it out, had to put 50 pound fee in as well. guess what herpa derp i had a brain fart and simply put a fifty pound note inside the letter with my form and sent it off to DVLA Swansea. it wont arrive there until tomorrow afternoon earliest but is there anyway to recover the letter or the money? i was thinking of calling them and saying a letter with the bar code xyz has my letter in which i put 50 pound in. could you not open that letter and send it back to my address or whatever. The question is "should i kiss that 50 pounds good bye" and secondly "do they have high tech robots opening letters and scanning the forms etc? or a bunch of lackeys with letter openers taking the letters out and then putting them in a scanner" please tell me...that 50 pound....i might just kill myself...just kidding
  6. Hi Can someone confirm something please, have an ongoing complaint with MEM Consumer Finance (t/a PDUK). They have written stating they are not legally obliged to issue a Default Notice and confirm that they did not do so before reporting a default on CRF. They also go on to say they do not terminate credit agreements and Default Notices are only required in the case of a creditor terminating a credit agreement. The end date of the fixed sum agreement is the end contractual due date. I have a copy of the of the Fixed Sum Agreement and able to upload that and copy of the companies response letter for reading. Also to note I was hounded by Mucky Hall as they sent it to them when nothing was due, fully repaid!

  8. Hi, I entered into an IVA in August 2007. Approx £40k was involved. I defaulted and emigrated in August 2008. I have now returned and am looking for a rented property, so need to pass the credit check before a tenancy agreement. I have had no contact with creditors or the IVA company since August 2008. Am I right in thinking that in one more year the debts contained in the IVA will be statute barred? Rather than wait for that year to pass, would it be better to write and ask for legal copies of the original credit agreements in the hope that they no longer exist? I'm in a bit of a quandary so any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
  9. has anyone got their ppi claim back despite not escalating it to the FOS within the 6 months. We received a letter back in 2008 from Halifax saying that they had done nothing wrong and that we had not been missold. We believed them (stupidly) and I did not take it any further. With the media coverage I tried to start it up again with FOS and Halifax but halifax would not reopen and FOS would not go with it. nb FOS have been terrible. I sent them info from FSA website about banks having to reopen previously rejected cases, they said would look into it. I didn't chase as thought they were and a month and a half later contacted and another officer said the case was closed the person had just failed to tell me and in fact just emailed saying she would be in touch after looking at all I'd sent. Our case is cast iron I know now. My husband has always been self employed and has had ppi on loans, mortgage and credit cards and so the amount owed is substantial. Can I go to court?>? Or should I give up now. Will the court just say you've gone past this stupid 6 months etc. nb I'm sure they could not today agree with what they have written in their letter in 2008 as haven't they mostly agreed they have missold these things. ie in 2008 Halifax policy was clearly to write 'lies' and not admit any misselling. Help - am at last stage and Would try small claims court but not if I'm not sure if we'd get anywhere. thank you
  10. Hi There, Over the past 18 months we've got ourselves into a bit of trouble with Payday loans and now owe quite a bit of money to them (I'm just getting figures off the several companies we used). I've read on here about paying just balance & 1 months interest. Is there a tempate I can use to send to the companies requesting this. Many Thanks
  11. Hi guys, I'm waiting for Natwest to respond to my SAR so i can see if I paid PPI on my loan. I've just received my credit reports from the 3 main companies (experian, equifax and callcredit) and I've also found a natwest summary stating my interest rate. from this info I know that: loan amount was £12,665 rate was 6.9% repayments were £280 x 60months Total amount of repayments comes to £16,800 I may be wrong but I've workled out that £12,665 at 6.9% over 60months should be £248.94 totalling £14,936.40 making a difference of £1,863.60 Does this sound like PPI was added? is this the sort of amount I would have paid? or are my calculations completely wrong! I did default on the loan and now have a CCJ so I am a bit worried because if I did pay PPI I won't know how to work out how much I paid etc. I took out the loan July 2004 and defaulted March 2007, my balance now shows £11,240 so I guess I strarted struggling to pay in March 2006 after only paying back 20 installments of about £5,600? will have to check my records! I know I can't do much without my paperwork and statements but just wondered what your thoughts are so far Thanks Lisa

  13. Hi all Bit of an odd one so I thought Id ask. My friend was getting calls from a company called Palladium who were recovering an unpaid overdraft/unsecured loan for about £17000 in total that had been with Barclays. He knew he owed monies to Barclays but not so much. I sent them a letter quoting the consumer act and an authority and they sent me back some stuff which had no relevance (no signed agreement, no relevant contract, just the terms and conditions of Barclays current accts!!). I brought it to their attention that they were in breach of the act, and that any more chasing of this debt would be classed as harassment. To my shock they replied and agreed to everything I said! They sent me a load of rubbish – apology for this- also they would close their interest in this. So what happens now? Debt is unsecured, over six years old (statute barred?). Will they sell it on? If they are part of Barclays will they give the debt back? As they are in total breach of CCA 1974 (and they have admitted this) does my friend have any future rights?
