  1. Oh dear, I have spent from 8 am this morning till 3 pm at Manchester Eye Hospital. I parked in a Disabled Bay, correctly displaying my blue badge. I could not drive because of the eye drops which were not wearing off - giving me extremely blurred vision, so at 12 noon my daughter came to pick me up until my vision improved. At 3 pm she drove me back to retrieve my car only to find a Parking Notice Enclosed stuck on the windscreen. When opening it it states that 'Blue Badge Not Displayed'????? I find this rather odd as my badge was clearly displayed. My daughter went inside to challenge the 'parkie' guy only to be told that had gone home for the day. We took pictures of my car parked in the disabled bay, clearly showing the hospital in the background with my badge displayed. I really don't know what to do as I am loathed to give them any of my details..let them buy then from the DVLA if they want to go that far. It is not clear who the company is?? Back of ticket just repeats PARK SOLVE in big blue font. Parking notice states who to pay it to: Civil Enforcement Ltd. Do they not have to make it clear who the company is? I looked up Park Solve on companies house and there accounts so far show only £46 in the bank with a few addresses of a South African guy with lots of different companies..very weird. Any advice would be helpful as I have to return in a few days for more treatment. As an aside, there was a car parked nearby with at least 8 parking notices on it..wow, must have got a job lot. Do they not take photos of the offence as I would love to see my car without a blue badge displayed to back up their claim as this would be a miracle.
  2. Good morning, I have recently received a parking charge notice from parking eye, to which I have appealed and provided proof of parking twice and they have rejected both times. Can you please help? please answer the following questions. 1 Date of the infringement 06/07/17 2 Date on the NTK [this must have been received within 14 days from the 'offence' date] 21/07/17 3 Date received 26/07/17 4 Does the NTK mention schedule 4 of The Protections of Freedoms Act 2012? [y/n?] Not that I can see (howver I am looking at a scanned copt at the moment could be on the rear will check later) 5 Is there any photographic evidence of the event? Yes 6 Have you appealed? {y/n?] post up you appeal] Yes. I am afraid I do not have a copy of my appeal but all I wrote was "Please see attached proof of parking, I accidentally enetered my old cars registration in error" The above is from memory so wording may be slightly different. I attached a copy of the parking ticket. Have you had a response? [Y/N?] post it up Please see attached Dated 01st & 23rd August. 7 Who is the parking company? Parking Eye 8. Where exactly [carpark name and town] Crown Wharf Shopping Park, Walsall car park For either option, does it say which appeals body they operate under. BPA If you have received any other correspondence, please mention it here. I received another parking charge notice, to which I appealed again the same as above then I received the below the attached dated 12th October 2017. Many thanks for your help and support. 23 August 2017.pdf 12 October 2017.pdf 01 August 2017.pdf
  3. Hi, Last week my husband took the children and an elderly relative for a bite to eat and to the cinema. After entering the car park it took him a while to find a suitable parking space big enough to get our elderly relative out the car and also get our son out of his car seat. They then went to get some food, went to the cinema, returned to the car and left the car park. Today we have received a pcn from parkingeye saying that we were allowed a maximum of 3 hours but the time from entering to exiting the carpark was 3 hours and 16 mins. In all honesty he didn’t actually realise that there was a 3 hour limit and due to him spending most of the time in the cinema we were quite surprised as some films can be 2 1/2hr plus long, not including purchasing tickets etc. is there anything we can do or should we just pay the parking charge?
  4. My Guess is there are a few of these, I will try and make this as short as possible. My partner works at Asda I dropped her off in the morning and came to see her again at lunch. Parking Eye says I was there for the whole 4 hours. (I was at work about 2 miles away in between) This is the letter they sent after I said what happened, where do I stand? Dear Sir / Madam, Thank you for your correspondence in relation to the Parking Charge incurred on 23 November 2017 at 13:27, at Asda Milton Keynes car park. You say that you were not on the site for the stated period. After reviewing your case, there is no evidence to substantiate your claim therefore the Parking Charge still stands. In order for ParkingEye to consider the appeal further, we will require evidence confirming you were not on site for the time as stated on the Parking Charge Notice. ParkingEye have placed this charge on hold for 28 days to enable you to provide the evidence requested. If this information is not provided within 28 days, the appeal may well be rejected and a POPLA code provided. Alternatively, payment can be made by telephoning our offices on 0330 555 4444 or by visiting or by posting a cheque or postal order to the address detailed below. If this charge has been paid and you choose to provide further evidence relating to your appeal, please forward this to us for consideration
  5. Hi, First the details of the alleged 'offence'... 1 Date of the infringement - 01/07/2017 2 Date on the NTK [this must have been received within 14 days from the 'offence' date] - 21/07/2017 (20 days after the 'event') 3 Date received - 23/07/2017 4 Does the NTK mention schedule 4 of The Protections of Freedoms Act 2012? [y/n?] - Yes 5 Is there any photographic evidence of the event? - Yes, images of the vehicle entering and leaving the car park 6 Have you appealed? {y/n?] post up you appeal] Have you had a response? [Y/N?] post it up - No, thought I'd ask for advice here before doing anything. 7 Who is the parking company? - Parking Eye 8. Where exactly [carpark name and town] - Premier Inn, Deansgate Locks, Manchester For either option, does it say which appeals body they operate under. - The notice only mentions POPLA in respect to appeals but it says they are a member of BPA. My son and daughter-in-law used this car park and my son paid for a ticket for considerably longer than the time they actually parked for. He can't remember the exact period he paid for (and they've lost the ticket), but as they were going to an event they didn't expect to finish until after 10pm, he knows it was for considerably longer than the time they spent there. Having said that, the Parking Charge Notice/Invoice makes no mention of why the charge has been issued, we're just assuming it's for staying too long. Is it normal that the 'offence' isn't mentioned on these charge notices? If it is, how is someone meant to appeal or defend themselves against an unspecified transgression? I've read in other CAG posts that these notices must be received within 14 days of the alleged 'offence' (it's termed an 'event' on Parking Eye's invoice) - does that apply in this case as well because it turned up 22 days later and was issued 20 days after the event? I've attached a copy of the PCN as a file - can't seem to figure out how to add it as an image like others on here are doing, hope that's not a problem. Can anyone suggest the best course of action to take? Many thanks Parking-Lie.pdf
  6. Hi. I have read through some posts and believe i need to respond to the questions, below. Apologies for not replying in Red but the formatting will not allow me. Very poorly lit Only machine visible not working PE do not provide any reason for failure of appeal. Many thanks in advance and hope someone can help... it will be Greatly appreciated. Matt 1 Date of the infringement - 23 September 2017 at 21:20:49 2 Date on the NTK [this must have been received within 14 days from the 'offence' date] – 05/10/2017 3 Date received – 10/10/2017 4 Does the NTK mention schedule 4 of The Protections of Freedoms Act 2012? [N] 5 Is there any photographic evidence of the event? - Yes 6 Have you appealed? {Y] Ticket machine was not functioning and had a message on the screen that confirmed it. Have you had a response? [Y] Please see end of post 7 Who is the parking company? – Parking Eye 8. Where exactly [carpark name and town] - Lido 1 Margate For either option, does it say which appeals body they operate under. - NO but they are BPA members Reply to appeal dated 26/10/2017 Thank you for your correspondence in relation to the Parking Charge incurred on 23 September 2017 at 21:20, at Lido (1) car park. We are writing to advise you that your recent appeal has been unsuccessful and that you have now reached the end of our internal appeals procedure. Our records confirm that no parking was purchased on the date of the parking event, despite there being payment methods available on the day in question. Please be advised: There is an independent appeals service (POPLA) which is available to motorists who have had an appeal rejected by a British Parking Association Approved Operator. Contact information and further information can be found enclosed. See also .popla.co.uk As a gesture of goodwill, we have extended the discount period for a further 14 days from the date of this correspondence. If you appeal to POPLA and your appeal is unsuccessful you will not be able to pay the discounted amount in settlement of the Parking Charge, you will be liable to pay the full amount. If you have already paid the reduced amount, the Parking Charge will be increased to the full amount and you will be liable to pay this increase. By law we are also required to inform you that Ombudsman Services .ombudsman-services.org/ provides an alternative dispute resolution service that would be competent to deal with your appeal. However, we have not chosen to participate in their alternative dispute resolution service. As such should you wish to appeal then you must do so to POPLA, as explained above.
  7. I have received a charge for leaving a car park 52 seconds too late According to the time on my clock we returned to the car park before 6pm. By the time we had loaded the boot with pushchair, then put our young 2 year old daughter into the car, we did vacate the parking spot before 6pm and in fact left the car park according to my clock before 6pm but their camera picture states 6pm and 52 seconds. I am really annoyed. Also even if their time is correct that is still only 52 seconds over , the picture they show is with the car on the giveway waiting to exit the car park on to the road 6pm and 52 seconds. This is absolutely scandalous. I have no intention in paying fine , any feedback appreciated.

  9. The Parking Prankster has posted a very interesting and helpful case where the Judge stated that the Witness statement included facts that were were "tantamount to perjury"-strong stuff. http://parking-prankster.blogspot.co.uk/2017/09/ In the Blogspot summary the PP points out that PE and others quite regularly send out Witness Statements that are a tissue of lies and can get away with it because they have no intention of having the witness appear in Court . So there is no comeback on those parking companies or their tame legal advisers who mislead the Court. The PP thinks this is wrong and urges all defendants to call for the Parking Company's witnesses to attend Court thus putting an end to one of their disgraceful practices. Obviously any current members who are having problems with PE should fire off a letter to them stating the above case and advising them that if they issue Court proceedings against them, not only will their witness be called to give evidence, the reason why that is being demanded will be included so that the Judge will be forewarned of the type of company they are dealing with. One imagines that PE will decide that it may be wiser to find some other motorist to take to Court.
  10. From the Daily Express "ParkingEye took Nicholas Bowen QC to court after he refused to pay the parking ticket for exceeding the free two-hour limit at Membury Services on the M4 in Berkshire. But the firm, which brags of winning 90 per cent of its county court hearings, was ordered to pay £1,550 in legal costs when the judge dismissed the case. 11. Hi, I received a parking charge notice through the post today. There is a photograph of me time and date of arrival and departure. The pay and display meters were not working I wasn't able to purchase a ticket. Could you advise what I should do please thank you.
  12. Got a APNR notification from parking eye - will fight this as genuinely I did not see any signs,. I have taken video and photo evidence of the sight and there is no visible signs stating parking restrictions on entry. This is a huge retail carpark where there are signs dotted around on walls and high level posts (10ft). When I entered the car park there was an immediate space to my Right hand side which I parked In. At this point there was no signage around and I Went and did some shopping. I met a friend After Buying goods in Tesco (With a ProvenReceipt, Time 11:37A.m.) We had lunch and I then went to the petrol station Which is on-site but i had Forgotten To buy some something And went back and bought Again in Tesco (Timed receipt 14:16 p.m.) The ticket says I left the car park at 14:24 PM. On returning to the car I saw the parking signs as i walked through the actual carpark for the first time, got some petrol and left the premises. I then had an after thought and feeling very cheated , decided to turn the car around, went back and parked again and took photos to show exactly where I was parked. (I believe this can be a cause of 'double dipping"- I will mention it in my appeal as i do not believe i was parked for all that time. Any tips would be helpful my thoughts are that the signage was solely on clear even though there are plenty of signage in other areasI was not looking for car park signs after I had parked. And also disputed in the time I was actually parked compare twoOn site.I have completed the details belowPlease let me know you your thoughts. I About to send a templated Bog standard appeal Letter to Parking eye online As we speak. i must mention that the car is a leased car and parking eye said they had to write to my lease company to get my details as registered keeper as I am the not owner. I think they have 28 days to inform me under this circumstance , and not the stipulated 14 days.? 1 Date of the infringement 14/06/2017 2 Date on the 04/07/17 3 Date received 07/07/17 4 Does the NTK mention schedule 4 of The Protections of Freedoms Act 2012? yes 5 Is there any photographic evidence of the event - ambiguous - 2 photos of front of car not parked but assumed entry and leaving 6 Have you appealed? yes. Have you had a response? not yet . 7 Who is the parking company? parking eye 8. Where exactly Woodfields Retail car park , Bury lancashire (retail shops Tesco, next, Sports direct etc) For either option, does it say which appeals body they operate under. There are two official bodies, the BPA and the IAS. If you are unsure, BPA i think? please check HERE If you have received any other correspondence, please mention it here
  13. Hi, Just looking for some advice please. I recently went to a small local supermarket and had not realised that there was a time limit on the parking session. There are various signs up but the main entrance sign says "car park for shop users" - see signs for details, I assumed the car park was for users of the car park and that there was no time limit. Unfortunately the time limits were displayed on the other signs up in the car park. I just got a letter with a parking notice, as I was 14 minutes longer that allowed. The reason I took long was my child was feeling ill and then fell asleep in the car I stayed in the car with her until she woke up and I then went shopping in Asda. I paid cash on the day. Just wondering if I should pay the reduced rate or if I should try appealing. I don't think I have a leg to stand on I honestly did not see there was a time limit. Any suggestions? Thanks, Chris pparkingeye.bmp
  14. I have read through a number of posts to try and assertain my position in respect to a recent Parking Charge Notice issued to me for overstaying in a Aldi car park for 10 mins. The vehicle parked in a space at the Aldi supermarket. Signs state that the maximum FREE parking time is one and half hours, the stay according to PE was 1hrs 40 mins. There wasn't any machine to extend the stay at the car park. I got my Parking charge notice through post i have overstayed for 10 mins, can you please advice. Thanks & Regards Krish
  15. Hello September 2016 I visited our local hospital purchased a ticket and left before the ticket expired. . Although this was after my dads death I parked in the same place i had done loads of times whilst visiting my father who was in and out due to this illness until he succumbed to the disease. This was 08/09/2016 whilst visiting the fracture clinic on the 25/11/2016 I received a parking charge notice saying I had parked on private land without appropriate permit/authorisation. Luckily I had left the ticket in my door though it was two months after scanned it and sent them via email. Received a reply that stated I owed the money (£70) which didn't acknowledge the ticket just stating I owed the money. I have to admit i didn't pay much attention to the dates as I really believed their had been a mistake and the pay machine hadn't worked together with the cameras so I cant be exact on the replies to parking eye, though most were emails. After some correspondence tennis I appealed to POPLA as they instructed me i could do, then heard nothing for months and months then a letter came through saying the £70 was still outstanding. I contacted them to restate their must be a mistake I had bought a ticket (attached the image of the ticket showing had paid for the time they stated) appealed to POPLA as they had told me to do and heard nothing for six months so presumed the matter had been finalised. They said they had written to me and told me my appeal was rejected (which they never did) and I informed them this did not happen. Eventually two letters came through the post recently one was a parking charge notice, the other an appeal determination. Funny thing is the parking charge notice is dated the same day as the appeal rejection letter 25/11/2016. these were followed by a letter from EQUITA with the usual threats. I looking to resolve this matter but it appears parking eye are not willing to do so, what are thoughts on how to resolve this? Thanks
  16. Hi All, I got a PCN for exceeding parking time paid for by 4mins. I appealed based on parking ticket not fixed to my car, and sign displayed in the car park states to pay and display but did not have any information about camera enforcement. My Appeal was dismissed in march 2016. I did not make payment, and no correspondence was received from Parking Eye until june 2017, when i got a letter demanding payment within 14 days , else i will be taken to court. My question is, is this right? I did not receive a Charge Certificate. Am I still liable. I assumed that the process was to issue a Charge Certificate prior to being taken to court. Does anyone knows the deadline for the issuance of Charge certificate? I look forward to your help, thanks you.
  17. I have received a parking ticket from Parking Eye. My wife was driving the car at the time. There is a 1 hour limit on the parking and she over stayed by 17 minutes. They are demanding £85 or £50 if you pay up quick. This is the shortest time limit in Grantham Is there any obligation on my part to inform them that it was my wife driving? How can I check if they have planning permission? Can I ask they directly?
  18. Called to Aldi for some bits at the End of May, unfortunately the clutch went on the car when I was attempting to leave. I rang my mate who told me he'd sort it out after he'd finished work. As the store is only 5 mins away I walked home and my mate called for me later and sorted it and I drove off. Id been parked there over 4 hours. Is there anyway off defending this post the SC case?? Regards
  19. hi i am new i and my husband moved into a lovely home but we are getting ex tenants parking fees ive tried ring the company only to be told they will pass me on to another person and i get a dead tone i dont want the police or bailiffs coming to my address is there any thing i can do thanx
  20. hi all been a while since ive been hit with a speculative invoice, i went to park in a free overspill car park at work a few weeks back, the attendant stopped me entering as it was only for vans, the guy recognised me from work, told me to park in the adjacent hotel car park, gave me a sheet of paper to put on my dashboard and sent me on my way. i parked up for 40 minutes, came out went home, then receive a pcn from parking eye, contacted said hotel, explained what happened, they then inform me its nothing to do with them as parking eye control the car park, tbh ive never parked in there before so had no idea it was controlled by parking eye, the last time i had one of these i appealed to p/eye got my popla number then in my appeal i asked to see the contract between landowner and parking eye etc etc, parking eye never submitted an appeal and ticket was quashed,, ,,is this what i should do in this instance ? and if so what would my first appeal to parking eye contain ? not sure what i should be doing this time round any help much appreciated thanks for reading
  21. A friend has received a Parking Eye PCN after a car in his name was driven by a family member (with permission and insurance) into a small retail park when it was closed. The driver felt unwell on the way home one evening and drove into the car park, stayed in the car and then left 40 minutes later. The signs are clear and it does say no parking is allowed once the stores are closed so it may be that this unfortunate mistake has cost them dearly but if there's any way out of it I'd like to help them. Can anyone give any advice? (Apologies if this is already on here but I have one day left to write them and a long working day ahead of me so don't have time to read them all.)
  22. Friend got a ticket in a car park managed by Parking Eye. Ticket machines were not working and several people weren't able to get a ticket. Sent letter to PE advising that machines were not working and that others were in the same position. We assumed that the other car owners would have got letters from PE and written back saying they couldn't get a ticket. However, PE have sent their usual "get lost" letter - what specifically should we be asking them for in the appeal to POPLA - is it proof that the machine was working ?
  23. My Mother In Law has got several scary warnings from Parking Eye for parking without a ticket, despite having bought one. She's found the ticket and she put the wrong reg in. Is it worth replying to, or just keep ignoring it?
  24. I also got caught and had to pay £60.00. But what I have done is called balance the books. To recover the £60.00, I have stopped contributing to any Charity organization. Stopped tipping. When asked to contribute to those save the children Charities, I do not provide. Taking this route I Intend to save £100.00 , which would otherwise of left my pocket. at the end of the day my financial position will not change. until the government do something about “Parkingeye” the Charity organizations will suffer and not me.
  25. Default Re: Aldi customers told to register their vehicles in-store or face a fine. I drove into Romsey on 8th Feb at night (in the dark) and the first safe place I found to park was Aldi. I live in Staffordshire and had travelled down for a family wedding. I went with my daughter to find the registry office, then went into the Aldi store to pick up some munchies for the B&B. I returned to Romsey Aldi the next day (9th Feb) for the wedding, sent my 16 year old daughter to the parking meter for a ticket as we weren't going into the store. A few days later I received a parking letter from parking eye. I didn't realise that you had to enter your registration into a machine, as our local Aldi doesn't have that? I appealed to parking eye with a copy of my online banking page as I didn't have my receipt (who keeps receipts for junk food?). they said it was unsuccessful and to appeal through POPLA. I appealed through POPLA and sent them the full online bank statement page, they said my appeal was unsuccessful? I am being charged for not entering my reg number into a stupid machine. .. I was a genuine paying customer?! Please help as I don't want a CCJ Thanks,
