  1. Good afternoon it's been a while, actually June 13th since the last letter and now this has hit the doorstep. May I ask, are they selling the debt on to a third party which I'm sure they can't do and if not should I worry about this resolvecall. Once again appreciate all the help. 2019-09-25 DM Might doorstep me.pdf
  2. resolvecall were scotcall, just a powerless DCA not part of lowells, that threaten powerless DCA at your door.
  3. Hi guys, It's been a while but things are starting to affect my day to day living once again... Here is the background. October 2007 I purchased a laptop from PC World under HFC agreement. July 2013 HFC transferred an account to HSBC Bank plc. In October 2013 this account then got sold to IDEM Servicing. During this time I was in a fee charging DMP paying various debts off, but I killed them off to attempt my own free repayment arrangement, but due to various reasons, I struggled and put it to one side. On 6th January 2014 IDEM served me with a default notice, with a written intention to terminate my loan agreement. I sent a CCA request on the 10th January enclosing £1 and included the revoke access for sending someone to my home address etc. With no response... Sure enough on the 22nd Jan, a "Notice to Terminate" letter came through demanding full payment of balance. I should have kept chasing for CCA but certain issues at home meant it took a back step and i got distracted. .. unusually hearing nothing from IDEM, until just recently. 1st October 2014, a letter comes through the door from "resolvecall" referencing the Idem account with me. But claiming they were contacted by "Arden credit management" to make contact with me to arrange contact with them (Arden.) I have never had any correspondence from Arden Credit Management. This is an Idem account. the letter from resolvecall stated if i did not contact Arden, one of their reps would make a personal visit within 28 days from the date of the letter (1st Oct). Today is the 8th of October and this evening at roughly 5:30pm, a rep arrived at my door... my Dad answered, the guy asked for me, my Dad advised I was unavailable. (I was upstairs in the bathroom at the time but I could hear him talking.) -- this is where I need your help too guys -- I heard the guy, after being told i was unavailable at the time, tell my Dad that he has been instructed by HSBC to make contact with ME so he could then put me in touch with someone over the phone that he held in his hand, to discuss an account I hold with them. Before I could get downstairs, the guy then started to ask if I held any debts at all.. . my dad at this point simply shrug his shoulders, I went downstairs and kindly asked him to leave the property. His response "Do you not want me to put you in touch with anyone then?" I repeated myself. He then said "ok" and closed his ring binder and left. I got his name.. but I have to admit , I am a little shaken up, my heart was doing that fight or flight pounding in my chest. Where do I go from here guys?? Who the hell do I send letters to now? I am still only in a position to offer £1 for any debt that I owe, there is no special treatment here. But did the doorstep guy from Resolve call breach any rules by talking to my dad and asking him questions? I really hope, after all that typing, you find time to offer your advise... Regards David
  4. Hi since late 2010 I have been managing my debts with the help of advice from CAG members. Most of my creditors accepted monthly reduced payments, with one exception. Two creditors, Sainsbury's and MBNA apparently 'sold off' or assigned my accounts to debt collection agencies; Sainsbury's to Arrow Global and MBNA to Idem Servicing; whilst I do not recall receiving any official document to confirm this I have checked my credit file and it confirms they have been assigned Last year to stop the bank repossessing my flat I sold it, fortunately I had sufficient equity to buy a property outright; I have not updated my creditors with my new address, my mail is re-directed. I still pay all my arrangements to the O/C's, and have heard nothing from A/G however I/S have instructed Arden Credit Management to collect the money. I receive telephone calls/texts regularly asking me to contact those 'appointed' all have been ignored. Now I am receiving threatograms from Resolvecall stating they will send a representative to my address (THEY ONLY HAVE MY OLD ADDRESS); not worried about telling resolvecall to 'fudge' off but unsettling to have to start fighting off creditors again. I have checked my credit file today and was just about to update my address, however I am not sure if this is a wise decision. Whilst I have no mortgage, I am self employed and work is still sparse and there is no money to increase my monthly payments or make an offer to pay off these debts. Not sure how I should play this; there was no PPI with the assigned debts so no claim there. Do I update my credit file with new address, write to Arden/Resolvecall and say no idea who you are or how you became involved., lots of questions I know any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Removed the links That site is very wrong almost Freeman of the land stuff Resolvecall or scotcall do not buy debts They like moorcroft and wetcloths only chase for clients They are not BAILIFFS No dca can ever be and no dca has any legal powers anyway on any debt anyway if they turn up do not engage film them on your phone tell them to leave and not return or you'll call police 101 Dx
  6. just had Resolvecall at the door, recording the conversation !! Are they allowed to do that ? Asked DOB, Name, address etc so got chased. Where do I now go from here ?? J ust keep sending packing ?
  7. Hi all, I recieved a letter yesterday from a company called resolvecall from Glasgow stating that they had been Instructed by Mercers to reclaim the debt. I immediatly sent them a letter telling them that the account was in dispute and Barclays should not have got Mercers involved and Mercers should not have got resolvecall involved. I also Included a copy of the "In Dispute" letter I sent to Barclaycard. I have also recieved from the FOS my complaint form on this matter. I have included in my Information summary to the FOS that the account was in dispute because of the non provision of the CCA info and the fact that they had charged me for Late Payments, The payments were never late just somewhat reduced. They have also been sent copies of the letters from Mercers and resolvecall. In the section of the FOS claim form where they ask what I would like Barclaycard to do, I stated that I wanted the harassment to cease and if it was barclaycards intention to take me to court then I was happy to do this but pointed out that if they did, they would have to produce the information I requested so why not save everyone involved a load of time hassle and money and just send me the info. I dont expect much to happen until late in the week, i.e. reply from mercers and resolvecall along with acknowledgement from the FOS that they recieved all the info I sent them, which may take a little longer. Just to try and pre empt a comment, I did not send the letters to mercers and resolvecall by registered mail as I wont have funds available until mid week, but if I hear nothing by the weekend registered copies will be sent. NEVER LET THE B******S GET YOU DOWN
  8. haha resolvecall like any DCA are NOT BAILIFFS. and are totally powerless. IF IF IF they appear do not engage film them... tell them to leave your property and not return else you'll call police 101. dx
  9. Thanks dx1000uk Stress levels increasing again......Latest update is a letter recieved today from Cabot saying they’re sending Resolvecall in next 7 days Is my next move to send the letter about only coming with appointment or am I continuing to ignore ? Thanks in advance for any help or advice with this ongoing matter.
  10. Afternoon All, Many thanks for re-opening this post. This has been going on years! Has all been quiet from Cabot until today. Received the attached letter. Not too bothered about it - we did get a man call to the house some 5 months ago and posted a note through saying he had been from Resolvecall and to call them which we didn't. Am I right in thinking this could be statute barred in another 13 months if nothing else happens?
  11. Are you saying they will just ignore it? how about disallowing them to share my data with a third party ie Resolvecall, under the gdpr regulations? H
  12. So an update, and I must admit I am getting a bit worried now. For my 2 DFd Idem/MBNA accounts, I get automated Resolvecall phone calls which I ignore. Someone did call out and they left a card. Nothing else. Automated calls carry on, but not daily. But for my husband's 1 DFd Idem/MBNA account he doesn't get the phone calls (I assume they have no number for him) but a large A4 letter arrived from Idem, to let him know that they are passing his details to their litigation department (I haven't had this). They have enclosed the previous 2 years statements (they bought the debt in December 2016) and a 'pre-action information sheet'. They are asking him to complete an income and expenditure sheet. They say (and this is what worries me) that is they don't hear from him within 30 days, they will look to take further action. They then may: * Obtain an attachment/arrestment of earnings order * Obtain a charging order against your property * CCJ They say we have to do this to avoid court action. Having looked on this forum, I can see that Idem DO take court action so I am pretty worried now. Looking on another site, there's a letter which people have been advised to send back, which demands that they prove that the debt is unenforceable. Why does my husband have this and not me?? HELP PLEASE!!!
  13. I will get phone out and threaten 101. And does anyone know how long the bother for or what Idem might do next (aside from Resolvecall)? Apologies if this has been answered, I don't think it has......
  14. resolve call are not bailiffs and have zero legal powers if they do rock up tell them to leave and not return else you'll call police 101. do not engage with them. TBH though cabot have sent 100's of these resolvecall letters out recently, think they must of done a deal with scotcall [sorry that's their oldname] or bought them out, as cabot don't have a doorstep wing like most others AFAIK. dx
  15. do the debts summary, not the calendar, now say defaulted them or still what was it arrangement? don't worry about resolvecall, . tell them to leave say nothing else or you'll call police 101
  16. Egg (or CCAgencies) passed the account to to 'Resolvecall'. One email to them after they came around and left a card and they've handed the case back. My email mentioned no default notice, Eggs failure to reply to my letters meant dispute was terminated, and Egg having been informed several times (and I have proof of delivery) that any communication other than in writing would be deemed harassment. As they had contracted the case to Resolvecall and apparently not informed them of this, I am adding harassment to my FOS complaint against Egg. I said the only communication I expected from Resolvecall was to say they were handing the case back - and one day later, that is what I received. I did also say if they called around again, I would be complaining about Resolvecall to the Financial Ombudsman.
  17. I had a visit from Resolvecall this morning, didn't last long, but the little fella put a 'letter' through my door after I closed it which turned out to be a 'we called today' card which was nice.. I'm assuming I'll be getting more of these visits, I'm also assuming a polite 'no thanks' and shut the door is the required procedure? Many thanks..
  18. Hi I had a debt with Barclaycard in 2004/05 for £476 and then facing financial trouble, I have an IVA in 2007/08 which failed because of emigrating to Australia for 4 years. Since 2006/07, I had no contacts with any financial companies and didn't pay any money to anyone, other than GE. I have come back to UK and since then paid off GE. But, I have no communications from any financial companies. I checked my credit history and there was nothing showing from any financial debts from 2006/07. I did get in touch with Barclays but that was for a PPI claim which they paid up. I am now suddenly being chased for that debt with Barclaycard from 2006/07 by a company called Cabot Financial. In the letter they sent me, it says they'll send a company called ResolveCall to visit me and discuss the debt, if I don't call them within the next seven days. My question is I am sure the debt is statute barred. I have never made any payments to Barclays since 2007. What are the next steps - bear in mind, I haven't contacted them and I have never admitted to the debt to them. Thanks for your help
  19. Give barclaycard a ring and ask for the last date of payment. Cabot have bought a ton of bad debts and will try anything to cash them in. They do not enforce legit debts. They only go after unenforceable ones, as they know the vast majority of debtors are totally uneducated and ignorant of their rights and debt collection procedures. If its statute barred, barclaycard will tell you. Remember, cabot wont tell you, nor will they care or even have ANY paperwork whatsoever on the debt apart from your name address and amount allegedly in debt. relax, and give them a quick ring tomorrow morning If it is Statute barred, send them out statute barred letter and then ignore everything they send unless theyre dumb enough to try and issue a court claim ( yes, they really are that dumb sometimes). regarding resolvecall, totally ignore the muppets. They have absolutely no authority over anything, and if they come to your house, tell them in whatever way you like to leave you alone, or youll call 101 and say some random person is at your door demanding money and harassing you.
  20. Hi! I'm new here so I apologise if I am posting in the wrong place. Long story short I have received a letter from Cabot advising that they are going to instruct a company called Resolvecall to call at my house and "put me back in touch with them". This is regarding a loan which was a CCJ but that dropped off 18 months ago. I have received nothing else regarding this debt I just realised there was a CCJ logged on my credit file. I was very ill and going through a difficult separation when this debt defaulted (originally Santander) and missed one payment. Despite me offering to catch up by paying £50 extra per month Santander refused and it has never been resolved from there. Do I ignore the letter in the hope they won't bother to send someone round? I have looked at all the other threads but am confused regarding CCJ's over 6 years old which weren't enforced during that 6 years. Thanks in advance!
  21. resolvecall ae a powerless DCA and are NOT BAILIFFs but I doubt they'll call anyway, as for it not being enforced within 6yrs they can try but probably wont succeed. only start to worry if the court write to you or a real court bailiff. so why did you not defend the original claim?

Resolvecall seem to think it ok to make threats of doorstep visits to collect money then tell a customer that they should direct any complaint about their action ( resolvecall ) back to Egg. " As the instruction to contact you was initiated by Egg it would seem appropriate that your complaint be directed against Egg and, as stated in our previous email to you, resolvecall has closed its records and returned the matter to Egg. " The above the words from email received from Resolvecall. I have replied insiting they send me a copy of their code of practice and complaints procedure, I wont hold my breath.
  23. Oh, okay. I'll send a second letter to Robinson Way today "signed for", and see what happens. What should I do if Resolvecall do contact me please?
