  1. We've been to the branch this afternoon, and finally received the SAR. Aparantly it's been at the branch all along, and they have tried to call us.. the number is withheld, and they're not allowed to leave a message..? (Should I try to cancel the ICO complaint)? Looking through it, they've sent a Barclaycard application where the ppi is ticked, and a credit agreement which says Providian at the bottom, which has 'self employed' ticked on it, but it only has half the date on this. My husband was self employed as a market trader in the early 2000's so he may have applied for the card then, and that's why self employed is ticked. (I have not sent off the FOS Questionaire for Providian yet). The Barclaycard application shows he worked for an employer (which he did at the time), but the ppi is ticked. I have already sent off the FOS questionaire for Barclaycard (not heard anything yet), and the reason I gave was that 'I was lead to believe I wouldn't get the card if I didn't take the ppi'. Not sure where we stand on this as the box is ticked. The statements only go back to May 2004 (Barclaycard), and Aug 2003 (Providian). All of the "Statements" they have sent don't show any ppi, but when we were in the branch a few weeks ago it was confirmed ppi was on the Barclaycard between 1998 - 2002. All of the statements look like this, but obviously have different balances etc. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  2. This SAR request gets stranger.. received a letter today from Barclays SAR team, Knutsford. "Thank you for your letter dated 09.09.13 informing Barclays that you have made a complaint to the ICO on the 09.09.13. I must inform you that we had already sent your information to the branch that you had nominated "XXXXXXXXX" branch on the 12.08.13. Please make contact with the branch to arrange the collection of your information. If we can be of any further assistance... blah blah..." I've just called the branch and spoken with the same lady we spoke to last time in the branch who found out the info had been sent to my old address. She looked in various places and said she couldn't find anything addressed to my husband. She asked if we can bring the letter in and they will investigate further.
  3. No advice sorry, but just wanted to say good luck, and your letter sounds great.
  4. ICO complaint posted today. Regarding this, should I just send Barclays a copy of the cover letter I sent to ICO, or the whole lot incl. evidence? I take it I also need to send with a cover letter?
  5. Yes that looks great, thanks sooo much for your guidance on this slick . I'll post it all off on Monday.
  6. Thank you. I've filled in the ICO complaint form, and included a brief covering letter (Not sure if this is needed). Is this ok?
  7. I've filled in an ICO complaint about BC sending the SAR to an old address, Is it ok to send that by email, or should everything be done in writing?
  8. Thanks Slick. Will the ICO be able to make BC send the SAR?
  9. This complaint letter was received by Barclays on 23rd Aug 13. So 14 days is up tomorrow (or is it working days?) I have not received any response, nor have I received my SAR. Please could you tell me what my next step is?
  10. Hi Slick, Yes, they received my complaint letter on 23rd Aug. I'll post here if/when I get a reply.
  11. Just wondering how I'd go about doing this.. is it here? http://www.ico.org.uk/complaints/handling
  12. SAR complaint letter received by BC today. Also I sent a FOS questionnaire for the BC today.
  13. Thanks for your time Slick. I'll get that letter in the post tomorrow.
  14. You're a star slick Could I ask your opinion on my question in post 85 please?
  15. Thanks so much Slick. The bit where it says "This refers to the Barclaycard account formerly run by Providian." Does that need to be in there, as I thought the SAR was just all info about my husband (the Barclaycard and the Providian card).
  16. With regards to filling in the FOS form, will they require any proof of employment or savings at the time? The company my H worked at at the time closed down about years ago, and we don't have any paperwork.
  17. Thanks Slick. Here's my letter, please feel free to tell me about anything that needs adjusting
  18. I've been sending letters to - Barclaycard Customer relations, PO Box 9131, 51 Saffron Way, Leicester, LE18 9DE. The reply I received had this address at the top - Privacy & Data Protection, Radbroke Hall, Knutsford, Cheshire, WA16 9EU. And the address the lady in my branch gave to send the FOS form off is - PPI, Barclaycard House, 1234 Pavillion Drive, Northampton, NN4 7SG. Should I stick with the original address or switch to one of the others for my next letters?
  19. Thanks. Do you think I should send this FOS questionnaire anyway?
  20. Hi slick, well its like I said in post 76. When I sent the SAR, I put in the address we were living at at the time my H held the card to help them. I thought they would have sent anything to the address I gave at the top of my letter(s). I will draft a letter tomorrow, although I'll need one of you clever people to look over it as I'm not great at these things lol
  21. I used my current address, but they said as the old address was the only one on their system it went there. We didn't bother updating any addresses of old cards, as we assumed they were closed and were not used since about 2001, and (thought) this one was paid off in about 2007.
  22. But how would I go about getting statements? The SAR went to an old address so has been destroyed, or returned to sender, I don't know which. Will BC be likely to send replacements if I complain?
  23. Went back to the branch today, and spoke with a lady who appeared to know what she was doing. She made a phone call to someone at BC who told her the SAR had gone to our old address on their file, and there was PPI on the BC between Dec 1998 - Aug 2001. They said they couldn't 'see' the Providian one on their system. She said the account had gone to collections, and is still there (said there is still a small balance, although I thought we'd paid it off). The lady asked why we wanted the info, and when we said for PPI, she said we don't need it, and she gave us a FOS questionnaire to fill out. Said if we send it off, BC will write to us saying how much they owe us + interest. Is all this correct? If so do I have to fill in one FOS form for each account?
  24. Thanks Slick. We're going back to the branch on Tuesday, so if we get no joy, will write a complaint.
