  1. I was just preparing to write my next letter when I received an email from Cex. It contains a printable Cex voucher for the full amount they owe me! Looks like they are just realllllly slow, but I've now received the refund. Thanks for all the help
  2. Thanks silverfox. My letter did not include any 'Notice before' or anything like that. So, do I send the same letter, but include the 'Notice of intended court proceedings' part, or do I need to make an LBA?
  3. I've still not received a reply or refund from Cex. I even tried the email address posted by silverfox above, but it just bounced straight back with the message 'Abroad'. Can anyone advise what I can do next?
  4. This was received this morning. Do I now give up or send to the ombudsman?
  5. I've had this reply from Barclaycard today.
  6. The letter was received by Cex on 14/11/13.
  7. It's now nearly 9 weeks since BC received my FOS questionnaire regarding the Providian card. Not heard anything else about the BC claim.
  8. Letter sent recorded delivery today.
  9. It was sent on 23rd Sept (received by them a couple of days later). (see post #121)
  10. Will do. I've not received any earlier statements for the Providian card though, should I remind them, or just accept i'm not going to get those?
  11. This is the latest letter received today about the Barclaycard.
  12. Thank you. Does it matter what colour the envelope is?
  13. Silverfox, yes that's correct it is store credit in the form of a voucher. My only communication with them so far is by email, so this would be my first letter. Should I be marking it with "NOTICE OF INTENDED COURT PROCEEDINGS" or have I got this wrong?
  14. I'm having a problem with Cex online. I bought something from their website for over £100, and wanted to pay by Cex voucher. Their policy for this is - you make payment using Paypal or a card, then you have to post your voucher to them, and they will issue a refund to the card used for original payment to the value of the voucher/s. As soon as I'd received the item I sent off the voucher. A few days later I came to use the item, but it was faulty. I emailed Cex, and they replied saying to send the item back which I did. A few days later I received a Paypal refund for the full amount. Shortly after that, I emailed them to ask what was happening with the Cex voucher I sent to them, and they replied saying it had indeed been used as payment for the item ordered. So, I have now bought the item and paid by Cex voucher. They now owe me a refund for the faulty item in the form of a voucher. I've emailed them a few times trying to explain and ask when I'll receive my voucher refund, but they keep emailing back saying I've already had a refund back to my original payment method (Paypal). They don't seem to understand how their own system works. I think I will need to send them a letter to try to get the money back, and have drafted this... any thoughts?
  15. Thanks slick. I do see where dx is coming from, but wasn't sure if/how to put it, and wasn't sure if they'd buy it as all hubby's employment details are on the application form. Do you think I should mention anything about this (having savings as thinking of becoming self employed) or would it just complicate things?
  16. Thanks slick. We are unaware there was any accident/sickness cover as hubby only worked in a small factory which closed about 10 years ago. If I put that he did have this benefit, would they ask for proof of that though?
  17. Hi slick, The reason I gave for being mis sold was that they gave the hard sell and pressurised hubby into taking ppi saying taking it would give a better chance of being accepted for the BC. We didn't actually have any savings to speak of at the time, but could have had help from parents if we needed. We don't have any statements from that time, or any proof that parents would have helped us.
  18. Thank you. My Hubby was not self employed at the time of taking out the BC in 98 (that was when taking the Providian a couple of years later). He was employed in 98. I feel I should be putting more in this letter, but don't know how to word it
  19. Thanks dx. So basically I should write - Thanks for your letter dated... I do not have any records of savings from the time I was sold PPI, so am unable to provide any evidence. Regards Will this do, or should I be adding anything else?
  20. The letter arrived today, and it's like I thought, they want proof of savings at the time, or proof if we had any other way of paying if unemployed. We don't have any statements from then (not even with the same bank), and would probably have asked parents to help if the situation had occurred at the time. Can anyone advise what to do next?
  21. Well the man started to say some thing like he wanted to check some things with hubby, that's when I told him to say only in writing in case the man was going to try to catch us out with awkward questions. I assume the letter will be a fob off one or asking us for proof of savings or something.
  22. We've just had a phone call from Barclaycard about hubbys claim.. I told him to say only in writing, the person was ok, and said there'd be a letter in the post.
  23. Ok. Do I need to start a separate thread for card protection? Also, on the statement I posted up, it has 'Card membership renewal' on it, is this something I can claim back too?
  24. Hi slick, No I'm trying to claim the ppi first, as I understand the card protection is separate. The card protection is showing as £12 on one of the statements I got, would I be right in thinking it is £12 per year.. So I'd be claiming 3 x £12?
