This is a very useful site for anyone who is being asked to sell their home to pay for Care Fees http://www.gpss.tripoduk.com/nhscare/
  2. Wow Lawstudent, £400,000. Hope you got it! This makes my pal's £17k look small

    The NHS

When the banks have been finished off, how about a new Action Group for those of us who have elderly relatives who are being asked to sell their homes for Care Fees. Under the Coughlan Court Case if would appear that most of them have a right to Continuing Care from the NHS. Does anyone else have any experience of this situation.
  4. Citi Card have conceded that we do not have to fill out their form. Have sent of ID, but do they now have 40 days from the receipt of the money, or from the receipt of the ID. Have told them 40 days from receipt of money

    Court News

Does anyone know what this case is about? Against Lloyds of course http://www.lawreports.co.uk/WLRD/2006/CACIV/mar0.9.htm
  6. This is Citi Card, just stalling I expect This will be the third letter to them for DPA request.
  7. Thanks Princess BUT the DPA office has said we have to send ID and fill out form and that the date will start from when they receive this?
  8. ALSO - the DPA office said that they will have 40 days from the date they receive the Forms and the ID. Have we spoken to the wrong person in the DPA Office?
  9. Just rang the DPA office, they say that we have to comply with their request for ID and fill out their forms. Citi are being really pedantic - warn everyone else
  10. Citycard won' t play ball with the DPA request. They still insist of two forms of ID and the form filling. They also say the letter is wrong?
  11. Hi Horace 4831 Have already gone down that road. See "Quoting successful court cases" in Everything else
  12. Wonderful news, congratulations - down with the bully boys, here's to the big one with Lloyds
  13. Will see if the letter turns up. They won't get this one past me. Will be watching them with an eagle eye
  14. Just looked at my Vodafone bill and guess what New Item 3 Months Free Insurance £1.35 Credit 3 Months Free Insurance -£1.35 I never asked them for any insurance Phoned them up, said "don't even go there" Answer: We shall make sure it gets removed, before it is billed and send you a letter to that effect. They tried it on last year with Itemised billing charge, which I have had for severals years for free. Wonder what the next [problem] will be to try and increase my monthly bill?
  15. Yes what a great site. I do the books for several small businesses, and I see the result of the grief it causes these hard working people. Am helping several get their money back, and enjoying it. 8)
  16. Update Citi Card. Letter back today, asking for another £10 , complete with silly forms. Have they lost the cheque? Letter (RC) back to them immediately saying no forms, no ID and your time is running out! and threatening them with Information Commissisoner. We shall see what turns up.
  17. Maybe we should have a "Latest News" Department! Just an idea, where we could pass on anything we hear on whatever programme etc.
  18. Thanks for that correction, did not quite hear who it was, but its great fun listening, they deserve all they get
  19. Steve Wright in the Afternoon on BBC 2 radio happened to mention that the bailiffs had visited a large bank to collect against a judgement for fees, did anyone else hear this today?
  20. Friend posted off £10 Recorded delivery today, no intentions of filling out silly forms.
  21. Thanks BankFodder, will make sure he ignores the form, also will try and scan to you! Should be interesting.
  22. A friend of mine suddenly found out that he had a bad credit rating, it turns out that Citicard had accepted an application from him (unknown) and someone had been using card. To cut a long story short, family member, sorted it out and paid, when applying for mortgage found they had a defaulted credit reference. Don’t know what charges were, but after seeing your site applied to Citi with the DPA letter on Wed 8th. Today 6.45 (Citiman working late obviously) ,,,, guess what,,,,,, they telephoned him. Conversation went as follows: TRIED TO REMEMBER WORD FOR WORD Friend: I would like statements for last two years under the DPA. Citiman: reference your letter requesting these statements, we need you to fill in a form and there will be a fee for this service. Friend: No, Its my right under the DPA to request this service. Citiman: Your wording of the letter is not quite right. Friend: Why Citiman: Went on about the form again, and then said you will need two forms of ID Friend: Then said to him if you had taken TWO for ms of ID when this card was taken out, we would not be having this conversation now, we’re fighting back. Citiman: Where did you get this letter :? Friend: From a good source (The Forum of Course) Citiman: Well I would like you to fill out this form (WHEN IT ARRIVES?) Friend: Said he accepted the £10 fee, but not the form!!! :? Citiman: Fair comment, but can you tell us where you got the info about the DPA letter from? Friend: If you say there is something wrong with it, perhaps you can send a correct version of it! Citiman: Jokingly said yes, we have a few of these at the moment. 8) Any suggestions as to what should go in the letter to Citiman tomorrow?
  23. How much could the fees be if you lost on a larger claim, does anyone know yet? And if previous cases are anything to go by, the banks would not want the embarrasment of having ripped someone off with large amounts, they know they should not be doing this and the press would make a meal of it.
  24. I organised some finance and paid it off, but I want the insurance back, I also want to know how to work out what interest they charged for the loan. Could the interest be unreasonable, looked like it? Could I claim back the insurance that was paid? Must be worth a try!
  25. The question here is "was anyone else out there told they had to have a loan, and that the overdraft was not working", practically bullied into it.
