  1. Cheers for the replies. Yeah I have had an issue with eBuyer before. It wasn't a main branded one, it was by Powercool I think, I can't find much about them online. They are paying for the collection as they have booked it though Yodel (May never turn up then lol.) But with the whole offering you less then what you paid is that allowed, can I not insist a full credit to put towards a new one ? Cheers
  2. Hello again guys, So I need some help in finding were I stand when it comes to this item and the return process. I bought a power supply for my gaming rig 13 months ago yesterday and it had gone faulty (The fans bearing has gone and all I can hear is an almighty whirring sound,) first of all they washed there hands of me and fobbed me off saying they only cover it for a year and it was up to the Manufacture to resolve. I came back with SOGA and they said they would email me in regards to what can be done, after a week no email so I posted a post on the Facebook wall for the second time expressing concerns for their after sales support. Last time I got my issue resolved and compo doing it this way. So I then got the return authorized and now they are telling me that if they can't repair it I will get a fraction of the price back (around 2/3s,) under SOGA am I not entitled to a replacement of an item of the SAME value or specification just they don't carry this product any more. Also this fraction of the price on any products returned under warranty after 6 months is this even legal ? It proved to be costly on their part when they tried doing me over with it, I got my item back and around half of it's value in compo. One more question they are asking for all of the original parts and packaging, I no longer have the box as it was the most flimsy bit of packaging in the work, it was made of thin card and spit when I opened it, sneezing on it would of soaked it through. Cheers for the help guys, just they are collecting the part Tuesday and want to have it sorted before I potentially never see it again.
  3. Hey guys, So I am posting this on behalf of a friend. So just over 2 months ago he bought a Pug 206 on a 53 plate from a local "dealership," (a little allotment and sing garage between two houses.) He has had nothing but problems with it and I want to know were he stands. So the car was bought with approx 90K miles on it for £1100 and it was in average condition a few marks and dents here and there but nothing to major. So anyway here are the problems that he has had; 1) The seller put it in for an "MOT," and it passed with no advisories but it had a tire with .6mm depth, crack in the tire wall and no reverse light, he only noticed the tire after buying it and I got to admit I didn't see it either as I was there with him. (Cost £29 too put right) 2) Both doors check straps had disintegrated after about a week of owning it. Meaning that the doors could swing freely (Cost £90 to get put right.) 3) As of about two days ago his check engine light came on and it turns out his fuel injector has failed and causing it to loose power. (Cost £65 for diagnosis and £220 for the repair and oil change) So far he has had to spend in excess of £400 to put all this right and it has been driven for about 1000 miles over this two months. He isn't too fussed about getting the money back for the first two issues but he wants to try and get some money back to cover the cost of the injectors as they should have been serviced and noted before sale to say they may need replacing. So any help would be appreciated and I shall pass it on and keep the thread updated. Cheers guys.
  4. If my ordeal was anything to go by you will be stuck with it or be forced to pay out more money to buy a booster box. Don't bother with the drones in their 1st line support all they do is read a script and ask you do take the same steps each time. Lee wasn't helpful but it was only because the company is a shambles. I have 3 contracts with them and they worked fine for a week or two and then in my house I couldn't pick up a signal. Just because there heat maps (Shows signal quality in the area,) said that can't be the case you are in a good area and that was it. So far I am dealing with the Ombudsman to get it resolved as Voda refuse to do a thing.
  5. So I got a letter today saying that all complaint procedures has been exhausted. They say they can do nothing except for me to pay for a £50 booster that cost pennies to make. I pay them about 3 times that a month in the 3 contracts in mine and partners name, yet they are not willing to waive the costs, unlike all the other phone companies for example Three (3,) that give them to customers for free. All this because they refuse to believe me over there coverage map that isn't always accurate down to a precise location (I work with Wi-Fi heat maps at work and they are not 100% liable to go off for signal quality.) So essentially they won't (not can't) do anything even though I can give them detailed dates and times when my signal drops and the areas of the house it does drop in. So now it looks like I have to go to the ombudsman to launch a complaint against Vodafone. And this is all over them refusing to give me a booster as there service is not a promised.
  6. To be honest a premium number can be anything up to £9 a minuete (From what I have seen,) and due to it not being "capped," he can freely spend what he likes and it is yours/ his responsibility to make sure you don't call numbers that may cost this much. It would be in all the Ts and Cs unfortunately. If you want a breakdown you may have to request it as on mine I only get "inclusive," "Premium," and "other" costs, but not an actual list underneath of what was called. So I reckon with this you may be liable for the costs of the contact.
  7. They are supposed to refund you first and then chase the money from PF I believe.
  8. Red-ed can you forward to me how to get in touch the the correct Ombudsman in regards to Vodafone as a service provider ? Just I will have exhausted there complaints procedure after the next contact I have with them and it will help get the ball rolling. Thanks
  9. So an update is due, we are stuck going round in circles. Can't get a signal booster for free even though I pay out £70+ and my partner pays £30+ a month and these things cost pennies to make. (I would be happy with getting once of these for free and leaving it at that.) Can't end the contract and return the phone as the signal in my area shows that it is fine (These things are not always accurate as I work in an IT background and we use WiFi (Heat maps) to determine signal and someone in a great area that then goes inside there house or hotel home will then completely drop off the network. Voda won't see that as a possible reason they are assuming just because they have something in front of them stating that it SHOULD work that's it, there is no arguing, they also don't seem to take into account that people don't think like a business and may make choices based on price and deals at the time or even just pure impulse, we have all done that, it is human nature. I think this complaint is being raised to one higher than Lee as a "final judgement," then if I don't like the outcome I will have to take it up with the ombudsman. All of this would be fine and I would be happy if they just stomached the cost of one signal box but by the sounds of it they would rather loose two customers that bring them in a decent amount of revenue a month over a couple quid for the cost of manufacturing a box. I will not be returning to Vodafone after all of this and will warn all others I meet or talk to of the issues faced with them. But on a positive note Lee was good to talk to and try and get this resolved.
  10. Got a reply from them today, here is is below, "Dear Mr Atkins Your gas account reference **** **** ***8 Thank you for your email to us regarding a letter you have received. Please accept my apologises I have investigated and I cannot see any such bill on your gas account. The meter was installed before you moved in and there is no balance due. I sincerely apologise but this has been a mistake on our part. Kind Regards Nicola Gordon" I reckon they may be sending these out to see how many would be to scared to fight them. It is mad how they have linked that much to my account out the blue and to even get there meter wrong. Cheers for the help.
  11. Just signed up to Noodle and my credit rating is 1/5 Why is it so low ? The only bad mark I could see was one late payment from British Gas (Shouldn't be on there as it was a cock up on there behalf.) I only have finance against two items (One for £300 and the other for £200) They are both being paid off fine, I only got them on finance as I thought it would improve my score, if they won't I will pay them off. Any ideas on how to up my score ? Cheers
  12. Hey guys, So I signed up to Experian under a 30 day trial. I got what I remember being a credit report (A bunch of paper stapled together) but I never got my actual credit score. I am just curious on were to go to see if I have any "bad marks," when it comes to getting credit approved. All help appreciated. Cheers
  13. Hey cB, I have posted the above post of mine on there Facebook wall and I got a response at around 8:15am this morning. They have asked me to give me the details of the letter and they will look into it. They have also said they will call me in up to two days, I replied requesting that all correspondence is done in a physical form ie letter or email (I can print these off.) I will let you know how this goes and if "Jonathon," can sort this out for me. Cheers
  14. Hello again guys, I now have another problem with a different company and as you can guess from the title it is British Gas. I came home from work today to find a letter addressed to me from British Gas and I thought that was odd as I only have gas and it is a card meter. I thought it may just be a letter informing me that they wanted to rape my wallet further. How wrong was I, it was a letter stating I owe them £516.62, I have no idea were this figure came from as stated before I may use about £20 of gas every three month or so as it is only for the cooking and heating. the letter essentially says that I have fallen behind with my agreed weekly gas payments, I have NEVER had anything of the sort agreed with them and I have never owed them anything maybe the odd £5 of emergency credit but I put it back on within the next couple of days. I also noticed on the back of the letter were it showed the amount owed it also gave the date 07/03/2011 for when the meter was fitted, the meter was here well before that as it was here when I moved in and that was 01/01/2011. I have spoken to my Land Lady and she doesn't know anything about owed money from previous tenants but she will find out for me and also she also doesn't agree with the date they gave for the install as it was there when the people before me rented the place and I know who they were as they are my ex half brother and his other half and they did have money issues as we used to get a lot of debt letters but none relating to British Gas. So what would you suggest I do? I did try calling but due too my work hours I missed there opening hours and I won't be able to call till Monday. All help appreciated. Cheers
  15. Cheers lee, If possible can you call asap. Just I may be traveling today. Not 100% yet though. Cheers Rob
  16. Hey OP, Hope you don't mind me jumping on your thread. I have the EXACT same issue that Lee is trying to sort out. I hope you don't mind but I used your post to compare how identical the stories are and how I want an identical outcome. Here is the email I sent him "Hey Lee, Before you call tomorrow can you have a quick look at this thread on the CAG forum - http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?361567-Can-I-Cancel-My-Contract-with-Vodafone-Service-Issue His issue is identical to mine and yet he got his contract terminated. Even down to the point were it shows good signal on the map but no signal within the house hold. So if possible I would like to go through the same procedure you helped him go through in order to get all the contracts terminated. Cheers Rob Atkins" Cheers bud.
  17. I took a contract out for her and when her credit rating went up she took over the payments.
  18. Hey guys, I have had yet another issue with Vodafone / Phones 4 U. So I went to start a new contract as phone for you offered to "Buy out," my old one, so I signed all the paper work and the direct debit agreement only to find that it has come out of my partners account. This is the second time that this has happened, were I have signed the DDA under my name and my card and it has been taken out of her account. She doesn't have as much money as me as she isn't in work at the moment and I just make sure her account are level and her bills are paid. I didn't account for this and now she will be getting a charge from the bank. So seeing as my agreement was in my name with my card details on and they have taken an unauthorized payment from my other half's account were do I stand ? What action can I take ? Can I cancel the contract as they have broken the conditions ect ? Please help me. Regards Rob
  19. Cheers for the replies, but just to clarify it is a pay monthly contract and the contract is with 3 and not apple. So it is 3s responsibility to sort it out ?
  20. Need some advise, my other half has bought an iPad via three on contract and it has gone faulty out of the initial 28 days warranty they give, after that they state it has to go to Apple. I don't really want to go to my nearest store as it is about 60 miles away. So the question really is, are 3 responsible for the replacement or refund for the iPad as I am covered under SOGA, the contract is between me and 3 and not Apple. Any help would be great. Cheers
  21. I have nothing but good things to say about this company. 1 - Always make pick up on time (Well the couriers) 2 - Every claim I have made has always been approved and paid out 3 - Next day upgrades when a collection has been missed. 4 - Refunds for mis-given labels (Wrong bar-code ect.) I started using them two years ago when RM started ripping me off even more and never looked back since.
  22. Any idea how long he takes to reply ? Sorry to rush just anxious to get this sorted. Thanks
  23. Lol, I take it you are a member of the 10 ways group, I bought three of those TVs when the price glitch happened. One of them had a fault (pressure mark under the screen,) and they wouldn't do a like for like swap. But they now have the TV in stock as I got mine replaced at the door, they bought a new one I have them my old one. So if they still have it in stock and yours has gone missing get them to replace it.
