  1. I personally would exercise EXTREME caution before involving myself in any MLM scheme. Very few of them offer anything other than heartache and despair (unless you happen to be the person who set it up in the first place). Some basic info on MLMs can be found here. Summary of an MLM scheme: 1) The business model is fatally flawed. 2) It suckers people in with an appeal to greed. 3) People can be convinced of it due to wishful thinking. 4) It can get a grip of people due to indoctrination and self-deception. 5) It may result in the loss of money, credibility and self respect. 6) The perpetrators of the scheme will have made a profit out of you regardless. They are the ones that can't lose! skb
  2. I have bought some, not arrived yet though and was about a month ago (gig in mid december). Just make sure you use a credit card and you will be covered if anything goes wrong skb
  3. It just kind of looked scandanavian or germanish, so I simply went through all the germanic languages until one of them worked. I did originally try it as swedish and got an almost complete translation. Some words were still untranslated so tried Norwegian and then Dutch. skb
  4. Yep, think you can confine it to the old spam folder For info: if you get any more go to Google Translate# and it will translate them for you
  5. Here you go: For info it was in Danish skb

  7. I have seen in HMV (or maybe it was Zavvi) a music CD with a promotional sticker OVER the original barcode which allowed you to get said CD for half price. They had the same CD labelled up full price without the promotional sticker on the same shelf. There was some wording somewhere, cant remember if it was on the shelf edge or on the product which said that ONLY items with the promotional sticker on would be half price so if you werent careful with what you picked up or couldnt be bothered to read what was right in front of you they would sting you for full amount skb
  8. Hi 74656 I had a mystery payment (£414 i think) go into my account (lloyds) several months ago, it wasnt BACS but was some form of electronic transfer. I didnt touch it and about 2 months later they took it back out of my account ( I did call them about it but got absolutley no where). A couple of days later I recieved a letter from lloyds explaining that an erroneous deposit had been made which had now been refunded to sender. I then recieved a duplicate of this letter a couple of days after the first one. I would have expected them to inform me before taking out, which they didnt. I had been tempted to move it to my savings account to get the interest and thank the FSM that I didnt otherwise I would have went overdrawn and been the proud recipient of several charges. So my advise would be to not spend it, leave it where it is and contact them to try and get them to sort it out skb
  9. I would add Debenhams and House of Fraser to that list. Case in point: The G/F had a pasta maching from HoF which became faulty after a couple of months. I went with her when she took it back expecting a scrap only to be greeted by an immediate "would you like a refund or replacement?" skb
  10. Hi Spurious Did you pay by credit card?? If so you should be able to do a charge back through your credit card company skb
  11. ...unless it was very, very old I would doubt that you could find any scales that only had imperial measurements on. Far more likely to have both imperial and metric skb
  12. I had thought these things had been banned due to human rights issues, but apparently not. Some useful info here skb
  13. Hi Mymoneypls and welcome to CAG, I personnaly cant help but am sure someone who can will be along soon good luck skb ETA: just to clarify cos im a little bit confused, you say you gave your employer your mothers account number and sort code. Abbey then say these details could not be used for BACS payments and the money ended up in someone elses account who has the same account number and sort code?? This just doesnt make sense. so questions 1) were the account details your employer paid the money too the same as the ones that you gave them? 2) are the sort code and account number you gave to your employer actually those of your mother? 3) if the details given were not valis for BACS payments then how on earth was the payment made in the first place? If the answer to both of the above is yes then its the fault of abbey. If the answer to 1) is yes and 2) no then it could take some time to get the money back, with cout action if necesary If the answer to 1) is no and 2) is yes then the fault is with your employer If both answers are no then you better start looking for a paddle

  15. I've also noted that both sainburys and waitrose both stock home brand Valpolicella and Montipulciano at the same price. So, purely in the name of science, I purchased them with a view to comparing them with their competitors. After drinking a bottle of each in rapid succession I came to the conclusion that not only do they get you nicely trollyed but they were also all exactly the same wine. skb
  16. Tesco own Valpolicella, Montipulciano and Chianti are all £3.19 and quite drinkable, hic (certainly by the second bottle anyway). There also currently doing a Chasse Du Pape Reserve Cotes Du Rhone for £4.68 which is very drinakable indeed, hih hic skb
  17. Thankyou, useful link. It would seem that I am in excellent health:grin::grin:

  20. What we have not been told is how badly the pedestrian was splashed. You should of course take every precaution to minimise splashing but it is inevitable that some water will spray up. The question is, and is probably entirely subjective, how wet does the ped have to get before its an offence? Is it zero tolerance ie one drop and your out, or is wetting the legs below the knee ok. I suppose before we can judge we need to know the degree of 'wetting' If it was a case of a couple splashs of water then yes, jobsworth, if it was a head to toe drenching then the fail is what she deserved skb
  21. Not to mention that it also affects your steering by dragging your wheel into the puddle and thus making you swerve. There is absolutely no reason, other than pig ignorance, why you cant just slow down . skb
  22. I can testify to this. Basically about 12 years ago I went home from Uni for Christmas and New Year. Before catching the train on the way back I stopped off at the pub with my dad for a couple of swift drinkys. After the first pint and chaser in walked one of my dads mates completely drenched from head to toe. What had happened was that a boy racer and his mates were cruising round town intentionaly swerving into puddles and splashing pedestrians. After a couple of more swift drinkys and still chucklng to myself at my dad's mate's mishap I set off walking to the station, about halfway there I saw a clapped out corsa speeding towards me and a rather large lake beside the road. My life briefly flashed before my eyes so I kind of froze to the spot unable to move as I was subsequently soaked in freezing cold sluchy black snow run off. With the cold shock pumping adrenaline through my viens I span round and swore at them, to no great effect, and slyly noted their registration. Once on the train I called my dad and told him the story and gave him the reg of the car, unbeknownst to me my dads mate contacted the police and low and behold about 4 months later I got a knock on the door from the local constabulary asking for a statement, which I duly gave. Anyway, the point to this story is that a couple of months later the local rag ran a little story about the soakings where the driver, a 17 year old chav who'd just passed his test, was given six points and a £550 fine. skb
  23. I would also report them to your local court as this has to be breaking some law or other, im sure they will be very interested skb
  24. Why not write to ur ex requesting payment of past payments be made to you and the DD to be switched to her account. If she refuses then send her an LBA and then if needed sue her skb
