  1. Sorry to thread jump but im in the process of doing this with Barclays bank. They keep sending me letters to which i keep replying to them but they keep asking for proof I am living at the address I provided. Im not a permanent resident or responsible for any of the bills for the house so therefore i am unable to provide what they ask, council tax, utilities, bank statements etc and they wont accept their own correspondence as being proof! I no longer have a passport. (same address i lived in at the time of having the bank account and obviously im getting my mail they send to that address). They closed the 2 nearest branches to where i live so i now have a 40 minute commute to go in person, as they wont accept photocopies in post, even if i had them. Any ideas what I can do?
  2. Who's to say it was a spam email or debt collection letter i received? You ask for copies of requests of parcel collections you receive - I dont know if its debt collection or spam email!
  3. Having spoken to the tenant today, he has admitted full responsibility to leaving the gate unsecured in his absence and has offered to pay for the damage to be repaired. He has had 2 follow up visits from the council which I was not aware of, and they inspected the gate, actions and the damage of the car as well. As the building was only recently renovated, the original plans were for them to install a sliding gate, which they have failed to do so there is possibly some breach of the owner on the planning regulations. I am an old age pensioner, with a car I needed for travelling. It was there as it was waiting to be repaired when I got my pension this week as well as it has been parked in the same spot for the last 4 years I lived here and this business only opened a few months ago. to everyone who chirped up with scathing remarks, I really hope your old mum isnt in need of help from anyone and she doesnt receive such comments instead of HELP and making me feel even more desolate and isolated than i did when this happened
  4. Different property owners own different premises. i woulnt be parking on someone else land would i
  5. Maybe your legs can walk any distance, i do not, if you READ what i wrote
  6. Bit of an odd one. I park my car alongside a newly converted business residential property. They have been leaving the 8ft x 10 ft heavy steel gate open un-secured. We place a big cone between the gate opening and the side of my vehicle but they have removed it. In the recent wind, the unsecured gate has swung the full length wide open and smashed into the side of my vehicle causing a big dent the whole length of the door, luckily not smashing the glass. There was no-one in the property today so we left a note on the glass door for them to call us asap (no call!). We also put a big stack of cones back in between the gate/car to buffer any more hits and tried to close the gate shut but there is no fixing, only a chain and padlock, which was locked on itself. This has been going on an hour, so we rang the council to complain about the noise etc. An official come out at the same time as a man who resides there returned home. When he returned, he tried to remove the cones we placed alongside our car. We quickly went out to speak with him and leave them there and highlighted the damage, he said " its nothing to do with him " (even though he lives there and re-secured the gate). The council man told them to secure the gate which he did but could not help us with the car. The police said it was not a criminal matter either. We cannot move the car to another space as it is very limited residential and that is our only place. The car is also up for sale but this has now caused the value to drop considerably and we cannot afford to repair it or can we now sell it with this damage. What can we do?
  7. So sorry for hearing you lost girl and my delay in reply. Usually the vet asks if you wish to have a pre-op blood screening, rather than them do it automatically. It adds about £60 to the bill. Unless they ask you and you agree to it, generally most vets would not automatically run them.
  8. Firstly find out about diagnosis of Lymphoma: http://www.wearethecure.org/lymphoma Did the pre-op blood tests check for it or is it a specific test not showing signs under routine bloods? This could found the basis of pre-existing condition which the vet could/should have found prior to operating and can be used as lack of competency on their side. Hope these people on the link can help. Very sorry to hear about your dog and the fact she had such a trauma of any operation when she needs her calm and happy life at most now
  9. Generally dental is not covered under any pet insurance and £500 for a cat with only 2 teeth out is extortionate! £200 would be more the sum expected to be charged. Get an appeal logged with the insurance company with the vet letter as defence
  10. the number i use is: 0844 4633 999 or you can ring the kennel club: 0844 463 3980 they are also on facebook if you can write on their wall http://www.facebook.com/Petloglostfound email]petlog@thekennelclub.org.uk
  11. If it is prescription only medication and depending on what the condition is, some medication needs to be monitored frequently for any changes to the animal such as kidney or liver damage, which is why they ask for periodic reviews. Just the same as our own DR will issue repeat prescriptions, but still need quarterly review. Without knowing the illness and the medication we can only perceive this to be the case. HOWEVER ask your vet how much they charge for a prescription without supplying the medication. They can write the script for 3 mths, and you can source from a pet chemist online. You will need to provide a copy of the script to them IE: Your vet charges £1.00 per tablet from them so 100 tablets = £100 Then ask how much your vet charges for a script £13.00, but online you can source the medication for .70p each = £70 plus £13 = £83.00 saving £17 per quarter Shop around for prices from the different online pet chemists as these prices change occasionally too. We would save £40 every quarter by taking our dog for her review, have a script written, then getting the meds online instead of the vet
  12. You do not 'buy' an animal from any rescue or rehoming organisation. You donate a contribution which is non-refundable whether or not the animal remains with you or is returned to them. Have never heard of a 'credit' but it sounds like they are accepting your donation to the rescue and aiding you instead of asking you to contribute another donation for a different dog. These rescues have a great deal of costs and expenses for each animal before it is adopted, such as vaccines, neutering, micro-chip, flea and worm treatments, feeding and veterinary costs so to ask for a donation back is rather frowned upon. Nobody knows the compatibility of any animal which may change at any time from the moment the new dog arrives to even 3 or 5 years down the line. This is not a guarantee a rescue or any other dog from a breeder or private home. If you bought a dog from a breeder you would have considerable added expenses, the purchase fee and no chance of having the option to return the dog to them for your money back. 3 weeks is not even a settling in period for any new arrival, least of all a rescue dog.
  13. Hi! Well - it was truly awful! i was a wreck and not much better today so hope this reads ok: I was still awaiting my evidence from hospital so i asked for the case to be adjourned until i had all my evidence for my case. (typically arrived today) but they were not keen and continued without accepting my request for postponement. The spokesman started out to be a very arsey d!ck. I pleaded not guilty with extenuating circumstances and explained correctly why for each, as you advised. Before id even finished he said it was Mitigating not extenuating and that really threw me way off course as i didnt know what to say. He was very harsh and hitting me with questions which i was having increasingly difficulty to answer properly but did try my best, but nothing was 'acceptable' to him as being reasons for the dogs barking and kept repeating why plans were not in place before the breach! and what could i have done differently at the time and why didnt i? Even though i kept trying to say things have been improved drastically since and there have been no breaches etc in all this time i was always thrown back to AT THE TIME of the breaches themselves. i explained things take time to assess with new homes for dogs etc.but at the time i was in a rush in emergency. he asked why i didnt take all dogs with me? it actually never entered my head to do that! He asked about my health as i told them i was finding this very diffcult, especially to explain things, so he asked about my health. i tried to say about medication and skimmed over the conditions briefly, but he said 'well, anyone can take medicine, it doesnt mean anything' - which meant i had to really open up and explain my health which i found extremely distressing, and uncomfortable. i dont discuss things to my Dr let alone a group of strangers. however, it did make them understand why i wasnt coping too well and they give me a little more leeway? council quipped i had rehomed 1 dog, but i corrected them and said it was 2 as i stated in the interview and its in the transcribe. he actually stated he cant be seen to 'bully me' which is exactly what it felt like in the beginning with his whole demeanor but when the bench went for recess for me to try to compose myself, he was talking to me a lot better. in the end, i deteriorated so much with being so upset it was adjourned to enable me to get an advocate to support me and seek further advice as it would be a very costly case if it were to go to trial and lost. However, some things he said between recess: council said they offered a 'simple caution' which i refused. i explained i refused it due to circumstances and it would be easier for council to prosecute me if anything ever happened again. He agreed. however, the council were present during this and could hear everything discussed so i was very cautious. he did try to see if i could get legal aid based on my health, but as its not a prisonable offence, i couldnt so he did actually end up trying to help me! speaking to one of my health advisers today, they told me the council had contacted them for information about me, which they couldnt give due to confidentiality and they were asking how many dogs etc i had and what i do with them! council not disclosed this to me. council said they understood if they couldnt disclose the information! can i use this in my defence at all? I cannot defend myself, i know that much. so im speaking with a solicitor tomorrow. he was actually present in the room waiting on his next trial and not connected with the council so he will know a fair bit of what went on, but without the file i have on the history etc. im hoping to pay it off on an invoice 28 days so it buys some time. court is adjourned for 2 weeks so whatever help i can get and as much as possible im needing. i did find this on the web:- Extenuating circumstances are circumstances surrounding the crime to try to make the crime less serious. Things like intent, or excuses about the crime such as "I did not know the gun was loaded". Or my client has dimished capacity. He cannot think to understand what he did. They are meant to reduce the punishment or the charge Mitigating circumstancesare the conditions or happenings that do not justify or excuse the crime, but are about the person charged or events surrounding it that may have caused the bad action. A boy kills his father because his father was beating him all the time. The crime of killing is not justified or excused, but the fact that his father was beating him should reduce the sentence. Or, my client is 85 years old. Prison is a death sentence. It would be things that reduce the punishment because of things about the person who did the crime. This is a real finepoint difference and I had to think about it. There are things that are BOTH extenuating and mitigating circumstances.
  14. In the post today is the court summons to magistrates court in 10 days. However, i now have copies of the two council witness statements from the 'breach' dates which i for had before. My request to the hospital for proof of admission is being dealt with so that should be here shortly, same to the doctor request of proof. What do i do in the meantime? Im devastated they think neither incidents were severe enough to accept!
