SD delivered for unpaid funeral costs of my OH..
letsgetitsorted replied to DaveA2013's topic in General Legal Issues
the DWP also do a funeral payment , this is paid from the Social Fund and can be reclaimed from the person who has died Estate. i had to apply for a funeral payment for help with my dads funeral costs, they paid £1500 to help towards the costs, i cant remember what the time limit is for claiming, but it will definitely be worth a phone call to the social fund here is the link with the info...I do hope you get sorted Dave. https://www.gov.uk/funeral-payments/overview -
I also had a claim from Restons, that has been stayed for quite a few months now, occasionally i will get a letter from them with an offer of reduced payment, or even a letter asking me to withdrawer my defence. now i just ignore them and wait until i get something from the court to say otherwise....in 6 months time the debt will become SB anyway....was also a credit card with hefty fees and charges and an iffy agreement.

What Made You Smile Today?
letsgetitsorted replied to ukaviator's topic in The Bear Garden – for off-topic chat
1) Helping a friend defend a county court claim against DEAL/CEL and getting them to discontinue....now going after costs. 2) hearing that a letter i wrote for someone who got a ticket from UKPC had their appeal upheld on the basis of this letter. -
the court has ask freind for their witness statement so just going through the one CEL have supplied along with the claim form that DEAL issued and i am in the middle of ripping it apart. Havinastella yes looked at parking pranksters web site, ta for the heads up, we will be writing to the court to see if we can get a stay based on the test cases that are happening.

Home visit by ATOS for PIP-Backdated or not?
letsgetitsorted replied to Happyandcontent's topic in Benefits and HMRC
Hi I Had my PIP assessment 2 weeks ago and PIP was awarded from 10/9/14 from when they sent me the claim form, so yes if there is a successful application for pip they backdate from when the applicant first applied. -
Just found out I have a CCJ ...can I set a side?
letsgetitsorted replied to KJames's topic in Financial Legal Issues
As you have not lived at the address that the court papers where sent to, then you will have grounds for set aside the form you will need is N244. it will be best to ring the court who dealt with the CCJ to get the case number and any further details you can about the CCJ sent to you. i am sure others will more knowledge will be around soon to advise further. -
and if he is added to your claim you will find that there is an amount that they will pay as a couple, ours currently is currently 113 instead of just 72. just for me

i was advised by ESA to go for contributins based esa as partner was working, but was miss informed had the claim for a month, so was just able to add her to the claim and change it to income related ESA, might just be worth phoning to check but you should be able to add partner to the claim.

1) Do Not Phone the DCAs only deal in writing. 2) write to those companies that have purchased you debts requesting a copy of the CCA, i did with Lowell over Littlewoods catalog they could not and removed the debt and amended credit file. 3) Do not get pressured to pay anything that you cannot afford to pay, if all you can afford is £1 a month then thats what you send them...but only if they have valid agreements. 4) i contacted step change and went through my debts...3 with payday loans and 1 with santander, went through income and expenditure and they found i could oly afford £1 per month for each. so might be worth contacting them...but remember you only want to pay for those with valid credit agreements. 5) how old is each debt. I hope this helps for now, I am sure others will be around soon to help out, and advise where I have missed

you can appeal send a COPY of the ticket to the council, telling them what happened and that you spoke to the warden, the warden should have a copy of the conversation. appeal before the 14 days are up and send recorded to make sure they receive the appeal before the time is up...you may be able to appeal via email.
