the Marlin entry shows default date 22/04/2010, the original default was 13/11/2009 according to HSBC entry. so it's 2 different dates. other question - is it ok to have 2 defaults on the same debt ? one from the original creditor and one from the DCA ?
-
right - I've just checked my credit report and I can see that Marlin added their default now ? I already have a default with HSBC dated 13/11/2009 and now I can see that Marlin Financial Services added their default for the HSBC debt dated 22/04/2010 Are they allowed to do it ?

just a quick question (im in the same boat as you) - so when does the timer for statute barred actually starts from ? I always thought it's from the default date. mine was defaulted in Sep '09. -
after the bemused letter to Marlin - everything went silent again. no reply from them. will see who comes up next

he had a phone call this morning from the mentioned company and spoke with the accountant. she said that she will contact the sales person who approved that and he will be refunded this week. my question is - should we wait now for them to refund it this week or should we proceed with demanding halifax to refund this ?
-
first of all - this is my mates case at the moment, after couple of years here I'm not that stupid to do the following... he was going through some financial issues and started looking around for some sort of a consolidation debt loan thingy. without any knowledge, he most likely google this company: http://www.clearviewfinanceltd.co.uk he called them and discussed debt management, fees, percents and all that. the stupid thing he did - he gave them card details on basis that they need to do checks and what card would be used for payments. they told him they will send him the agreement and he needs to sign it and return it. he did get the agreement, but decided he doesn't want to do it anymore, so he just ignored it. he was getting phone calls for about 3 weeks, but ignored them. problem occured today, as he noticed that they took 600 quid from his account - it was a card payment. he immediately called halifax to dispute this, been told that he needs to contact them first to get a refund and halifax gave him case number, and told him to phone back. next call was to clear view finance to ask about this transaction. they told him that they've tried to contact him for some time and there was no reply. they also said that they're within their right to start the whole process, as there was no cancellation - BUT NO SIGNED AGREEMENT WAS RETURNED TO THEM. also no paperwork about the debts and creditors - this was all discussed over the phone. my question is - are they allowed to this ? and what would be the next step to get this money back ? Thanks

I am sending the 'bemused' letter, as I am in this process since 2009 now you can have a look at my thread if you like: http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?211037-HSBC-Credit-Card

just checked my report with experian and despite Marlin saying that they bought the debt - can't see any search from them on my account. that's weird.

subbing to this, as my HSBC credit card has been passed to them too now. nothing was heard from HSBC for more than a year since last DCA tried their luck, but now Marlin is up.
-
yeah, that's what I will do. Just thought that maybe something changed in the past year
-
been a while now actually more than a year with no post from HSBC. but it's back on now - this time it's "Marlin Europe I Limited" just wondering if anything changed in the past year ? or should I just continue like I did before ('bemused' letter is ready) ?

its spinning out of control now...this is what awaits me in 4 days 15/10/2012 DAILY UNARRANGED OVERDRAFT FEE £100.00 15/10/2012 UNDER FUNDING FEE £5.00 15/10/2012 DAILY ARRANGED OVERDRAFT FEE £8.00

need some help with this. my missus has a santander account, she got laid off couple of weeks ago. account had an overdraft of 100 quid and she's been on it for a while. due to this she was being charged every now and then for arranged/unarranged overdraft and charge for no money coming into the account. now it's 159 overdrawn with probably more charges coming. i want to close this account and work out a payment plan. dont want to call them, as after my fight with hsbc - i need everything on paper. is ther some kind of a letter template and address I can write to ? basically want to stop them adding charges, close the account and work out a payment plan to pay this off. let me know guys, as this account will probably be charged again in a couple of days.

Hi mate. we've done this - send out a letter stating the obviou facts. But they still insist on ignoring this and we've received a letter today with the same usual crap, although they're ready to settle this at £120. Should we just resend the same letter again ? they obviously choose to ignore the procedures, as we did even ask for the complaints procedure etc. What we received: Thanks in advance
-
so today we've received a letter from Winterhill Largo, which seems to be debt collectors, and they're requesting us to pay for the above alleged invoice... So my question is - how should I deal with this now ? obviously we didn't get any sort of advertisement from the in the non-existing Streetwach magazine, which apparently was done in association with Cheshire Police - and yet we've not seen any copies of it anywhere. It seems like they're in liquidation now or something

Vodafone refusing to repair my mobile.
rudy691 replied to rudy691's topic in Telecoms - mobile or fixed
appreciate your help mate, but I don't I think that getting another opinion from an authorised samsung repairer is the right direction. this contract was made with vodafone and repairing was picked up by vodafone. I was given the same answer I had on the piece of paper send out to me with the faulty mobile. You gotta understand me - saying that something cannot be repaired under the warranty, but not knowing what caused the fault is a bit ridiculous. If something cannot be repaired as it's 'beyond economical' to repair, as I was told, the phone should be replaced by Vodafone. Hence why I'm asking for an opinion from guys here.
