  1. If they have no tax on them or not SORN'ed, can you just not ring the DVLA and this will sort its self out in a few weeks?
  2. If you parked in the Ridings or any council run car park, you would not have the problem. As far as trying to remove Excel? We residents are all working on that. Its all in the local paper.
  3. KeyserSoze83, Its all part of the scare tactics.
  4. Excel? Ignore any communications with them, as they will try all sorts of tatics that borders on harrasment. I think they have given up on me by now (12 months later). No court action, no baliffs, no CCJ's dispite the all the comedy threat letters. If they could take me to court, you would think they would have done it long before now. Under contract law they have to proove.... 1. who the driver was. You are not obliged to tell them anything. 2. there was a contract in the first place, that was broken. 3. what their losses were as a result of the breach... so 10min of parking is about 20p, not £40. All they they have done is paid £2.50 to the DVLA, and have written to the registered keeper. You will only get a CCJ if they take you to court, you loose and and refuse to pay up. They will not take you to court, as they have no evidence. There is no appeals process, dispite what it says. Ignore every threat they send you. It's costing them money each time to send you a threat. I reckon they must have spent about £200 on me alone when you take into account staffing costs etc. If you search for my thread on here you can see what will happen (or not happen) in the next 12 months.
  5. Ignore any future letters. Its taken a year for them to stop sending letters to me. Search for my thread. I had many a letter in different colours, and ones from a debt collection agency and a fake court document. If they want to take you to court let them try, they will not win if they do.... so they won't. They have to prove who the driver was, and that a contact existed between you two that has been broken. Even then they can only claim for the losses they have suffered.... for an hours parking its about 50p? Do you read the Wakefield Express? They are in there every other week at the moment with a lot of negative publicity. They are hopefully having the contract terminated soon. The local MP is also on the case. The many victims of the threat o grams will get the last laugh.
  6. Can't understand the backlash, you say? Yeah, right!
  7. You can ask BT to block calls from their number to your land line. Or if they ring back, ask them to take you to court and hang up.
  8. The DVLA will give the registered owners details away for £2.50. Thats for aonther thread, as it makes be mad just thinking about it. Drrrrr.
  9. If you take a read at my thread, it will make you feel better
  10. Well I've now got the address of HMRC, so I'm going to send them a copy of the letter. Freepost RSBT – YCYX – JYTK HM Revenue & Customs Tax Evasion Hotline Team Albert Bridge House 1 Bridge Street Manchester M60 9DX
  11. They will hassle you with "threat-o-grams" for about 12 months, don't worry about it. If they could have done it, they would have done so by now.
  12. Excel Parking are always geting negative publicity in the local paper, so I'm just stacking up the letters and biding my time (like so many people in Wakefield) which will hopefully result in the contract being terminated by the Council ASAP. They are the subject of recent negative publicity in the local paper, and someone has already started a boycot campaign. Get the word out!
  13. Just when you though they had given up.... Are they trying to get a bite with this latest letter or what? I've laughed so hard I've wet myself. ggggggggg.pdf
  14. Exactly what 68904 said. Don't get mad...just wait, ignore and wait some more. I'm stil getting threat-o-grams now after 12 months. If they could have done it, they would have done so by now. Don't worry about it! The last one I got was from a debt collection agency, threatening to take my vehicle to court. Which is soooo funny!!!!!
  15. This has appeard today on the wakefield government website "New Community Legal Advice Service on track for Spring 2010" www.wakefield.gov.uk: New Community Legal Advice Service on track for Spring... There is a simple solution to cut the bill in half before the project is completed....!
  16. 68904...... You have been in contact with him? Nice one!! Its a shame the the newspaper did not publish a link to this website, and try to drum up a few donations! I hope that once a few more cases like this go political like this one has, that the council may review the sitation and bring back all car parks under council control. It puts you right off visitng Wakefield over Xmas!
  17. Lets hope they asked Excel for a fixed fee upfront, not on a no win no fee basis! Regards The car
  18. Well guys, this one has been passed onto a debt collection agency! Action against my vehicle eh? I say bring on the legal action, at their expense. 56.pdf
  19. When all this has finally blown over, I plan to write to the council and try to get their contract terminated permanantly. As a tax payer, I'm fed up of the harrasment!
