CO-OP OD all charges - and Loan to pay off OD...
phatram replied to phatram's topic in Cooperative Bank
This is the only outstanding debt issue I have now after moving house last year and clearing all debt other than this which has become a bit of a favourite. The other day I got a call on my mobile from a number I didn't recognise so did a quick search and it was from Experto Crapit or similar. I assume it's this old CO OP account. Will keep you posted. -
Moorcroft & Mrs P's halifax Credit card account
phatram replied to phatram's topic in Halifax Bank and Bank of Scotland
It's Mrs P's Halifax Credit card account, which she was stopped from using by the bank and which, as far as she's concerned, was paid off in full at the local Branch last year before we moved house. Mrs P rang the Halifax and was put through to Moorcroft. She was told it would be returned to Halifax and she is waiting for the Halifax to contact her. When we moved house the balance was zero, although she did not physically close the account as Halifax had restricted its use. I do know there are a number of late fees on this account. -
Letter just arrived from Moorcroft for Mrs P asking her to get in touch about a personal matter. she will be ignoring this and waiting for the next letter. The only thing she has outstanding is a bank account O/D which is made up of charges and interest on charges which we were in the process of reclaiming years ago.

Thanks Andy.

We had a problem with our landline about 3 months ago and Mrs rang Sky to get it fixed. We were told there had been a fault and a crossed line had been the problem. Mrs checked the bill and we were charged for calls we had not made (about £20). At the time of these calls being made our phone was not working at all. Back in touch with Sky who told us that they would sort the problem out and amend the bill, this has not been done. We checked our latest bill on Saturday and we are still being charged for calls we've not made. Should we put this in writing to Sky or ring useless customer services again?

Only in England?

How lawful is the penalty charge and its amount?
-
I would argue that it is the responsibility of the NHS to notify people of rule changes. I would not have signed anything knowing I was not entitled to free treatment.
-
I recently received a letter from the NHS informing me I have to pay a penalty charge of £94 on top of £18.80 for my check-up. in 1980 I was diagnosed with Epilepsy and informed by my GP and my Dentist that due to my medication(Phenytoin) I would not have to pay for dental treatment. I have never been told by anyone that this is no longer the case. If I now have to pay then that's fine but I have not received any correspondence from the NHS informing me of changes to the rules and I object to a penalty charge for that amount for something I think is not my fault I've been with this Dentist for over a decade and always fill the form in before the course of treatment and they've not contacted me before. I do have a NHS Medical Exemption Certificate and I'm in receipt of Tax Credits. Does anyone know if and when the rules changed? Many thanks in advance.

A guide to Charging Orders & Orders for Sale

Our house is now up for sale as we want to move nearer an elderly relative, how does the CO on the property affect us wanting to sell? -
"We are reviewing your account and may take action against you" letter today.
-
R lost his property in 2007 and from what I can see he's had no contact with Blemain since then.

Another "Discount" letter just arrived
-
The letter is demanding many £1000's which they say is the shortfall from the sale of his repossessed property many years ago. I will scan it in later. When are repossessions wrongful? The amount he was defaulted for I suspect was including many of Blemain's made up fees etc.
-
Blemain have been in touch demanding money, I'm just off to see MMR now to find out what's going on.
-
Offering Mrs P a discount now.

Another "We may take action" letter yesterday.
-
Had a letter and phone call from Lowlives. Letter, "We may take action"etc etc.
-
Found evidence this is not quite SB, very close tho'. What, if anything should Mrs P be doing concerning this CCA being unenforcable?
-
Also this, Interesting thing here is the name on this is the same as my wifes computer generated safe signature which is not the same as the sig/name on the supposed CCA.

Just been through the supplied statements and the last payment was 07/01/09 and last usage was 23/12/08.
