  1. To the genuine members of this forum a quick guidance with respect to my previous post. If you are in a retail park or similar that has a number of different stores and one section of the car park(as i have often seen) has a sign saying it is managed by a PPC on behalf of xxxxxx store it is extremely unlikely that the store has the right to employ the PPC as the car park is usually in the ownership of the developer/land owner.
  2. Peternet it is obvious you work for a PPC and I note that you refer to Land Owners and Managing Agents setting the charges for parking. In the course of my business my biggest Client is one of the largest Property Companies in Europe and they rarely employ Managing Agents or PPCs. I have been to a number of retail parks owned by my Client and seen signs stating 'this car park is managed by [problem] PARKING on behalf XXXXXX retailer'. Until I joined this forum I never really took any notice of the legalities or otherwise of these signs. I have since asked my Client whether they employ PPCs and what the legal position was of one of their TENANTS i.e LEASEHOLDERS putting up these signs, at which point i was informed that they don't uually bother unless they receive a complaint. So I would suggest that you and the other PPCs should start checking very carefully who employs you, because if it is a TENANT neither they nor you have any legal right to allow you to operate. As you have no legal right to be there therefore you are committing trespass and acting illegally. Be aware I'm going to keep an eye open from now on and if I spot a situation like this I will inform my Clients' guys and make the tenants tow the line i.e stop employing you [problematic].
  3. Just a note the office in Basingstoke also houses their complaints department , I know because I used it and got the only sensible person in VM after 4 months of nonsense. Their phone number is 01256 7520000 go give hell people.
  4. I've just posted a link to this thread so i will butt out now and leave him to you guys, not the best scenario having your old man interferring more than he should.
  5. Try this thread priorityone http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/payment-protection-insurance-ppi/154793-deep-trouble-2.html
  6. My son has now registered under the nick cj25 and posted in the debt help section, i've requested the mods to bump it here but not sure how that works. If not i'll have to respond to his thread and point him here
  7. To mods can you bump this to the PPI section please, under deep trouble those that have been responding to that thread will understand why
  8. OK here are answers to your queries, 1. Logbook Loans he has made payments of £409.2 unfortunately he really does need a car. 2. Welcome Finance he has paid £180.66 including PPI the loan commenced 14/07/08, the agreement states that there are 3 items that have been rolled up and added to the loan, Personal Accident Plan £195, Lifecare 24 £215, and PPI £931.94 3. HSBC the loan was taken out 28th December 2007 and he has made 7 payments totalling £1445.57 including PPI, the PPI is a lump sum of £1780 added to the loan and charged monthly £41.62/month I asked about the PPI and he was told that it was a condition of getting the loans albeit that on the documents it is referred to as optional. I hope this is enough if not
  9. I've now had time to get the details together and set them out below not necessarilly in any order, my son is now starting to think clearer and he is going to register so that he can talk you wonderful people direct, he is also going to contact payplan. 1. £1450 with Logbookloans payable at £52.13 a week for 58 weeks as from 1st May2008. 2.£2000 loan with Welcome Finance 22nd July 2008, £180.66 per month for 36 months, seems there is an optional PPI ? of £37/month. 3. HSBC loan of £7100 over 60 months at 14.9% interest to which has been added PPI of £41.62/month which totals a repayment of £206.51/month 4. HSBC overdraft of approximately £550 There are a couple of small other debts but these are for pawning his watch and some small bills for his old flat for electricity, gas and 1 months council tax. I have written to these and asked them to hold action. they don't add up to more tham a couple of hundred pounds. If more information is required please let me know, i need to focus on getting his habit sorted and getting him back.
  10. Thank you all for your support he has given me an excel spreadsheet which i can cut and paste to word and presumably i can just paste this in the reply box. I need to go through and will post in the next day or two, also i will get him to register and let him speak to you guys direct at least it will see how fantastic other people are when things look crap
  11. Sorry i forgot to add he lost his job through bad time keeping, admittedly through taking drugs, but as far as the Bank, PPI etc are concerned he is just unemployed. The letter from his company doesn't give a reason so who is to know other him, me and you guys.
  12. Thanks for your support and advice and i agree about the ****** dealers if would make a hanging offence for dealing if it was left to me. One question though if the PPI doesn't want to know has he got a claim for return of payments because from what i've seen of his bank statement the only 'missed' payment is one that was due at the end of July.
  13. Thanks for you concerns people its nice to know there's someone out there to get advice from. I've got him at home and he is stable at the moment, sorry i didn't mention it but one of the reasons he is in so much debt and is that we have found out he is addicted to cocaine and that is why he lost his job. We are getting him treatment because he really wants to stop, i think it was the drugs that were talking at least i hope so. My problem is having to deal with the drugs and his financial affairs at the same time, i got him booked into rehab so thats one thing out of the way now i need to focus on getting some of the scumbags he owes money to dealt with. Welcome Finance Logbook Loans Pawnbrokers HSBC although i dont put them in the same class as the others
  14. Having gone through his financial affairs last night it seems that he may have missed the last payment as his account is now overdrawn. I wouldn't mind betting they will use this as a reason not to pay but we will have to try anyway. Thanks to everyone for advice its comforting to have someone to talk to particularly as he has now told us he was contemplating suicide.
  15. Just did as suggested and they are showing typical APR 437%, yes people that is correct four hundred and thirty seven %. I think there is a name for that
  16. MY son has got himself into serious debt and one of his major problems is a loan with HSBC for £7100 at 14.9 interest to which has been added a PPI policy which amounts to £1780. He is on the verge of a breakdown and I am seriously worried about his health.Has anyone got any advice on how to deal with this as I have always been the sort of person to never get into debt.
  17. My so has got himself into serious financial problems and one of the items is a loan from HSBC taken last December for £7100, to this the bank has added £1780 for PPI. If that is not bad enough the interest rate is 14.9%. He has now lost his job and is on the verge of a breakdown over this, I would appreciate any advice on how to get this resolved.
  18. Interesting one as i've just become a grandad for the first time and my son has a child seat which unclips and is then used as part of a pram (looks more like a space shuttle to me after what was available in my day). Anyway the point is we will be baby sitting this weekend so i might pop into Sainsburys and do a bit of Euro CP baiting taking my camera with me for added effect. Just for record in the course of my job I am involved in designing retail parks for our biggest client. All of these parks are multi-tenanted and they as landlords and owners do not employ ****** PPCs so if one of them says they act for Sainsburys, Asda etc it could be argued that they are actually acting illegially just being there if not with the consent of the LAND OWNER. Can't wait to see what happens next time i'm at a site meeting with the client and i get a PCN
  19. Have you thought of saying they had made a spelling mistake instead, I did this with another airline and they fell for it. As you have already contacted them they may have a record so it might be too late.
  20. Here's a copy of my posting on another thread regarding the dread VM. Good luck and my advice to any members don't deal with VM's call centres go to the head office number. 'I wont go into the story of my problems with trying to leave Virgin Media as it would take several pages. However i got so exasperated with them and their so called customer services, being kept on hold, transferred, listening to bull*(&* that i decide to find out how i could talk to somebody sensible. For any of you that don't already have this info (Virgin Media hate people to know) their head office address and telephone number is Virgin Media Ltd, media House , Bartley Wood Business Park, Hook, Hampshire. RG27 9UP, 01256 7520000. Just ask for the complaints department as i did and after 4 months of crap the lady i spoke sorted things in 5 minutes over the phone. You may wish to post this as a sticky.'
  21. Whilst not strictly topical to the last few replies i just thought you might like this one. Despite having left VM 13 months ago, following 4 months of trying to get them stop sending me invoices for services not received, in the last week i have had two telephone calls asking me if i would like to take up their cable service, i told them in no uncertain terms that if i never heard from VM again as long as i lived it would suit me fine (not being personal to the callers, as its only a job after all). What amuses me though is this is supposed to be a communications company so you would think that they would at least keep a database of customers/ex-customers, or am i just being naive.
  22. From my experience i wouldn't hold your breath, i had a similar letter from the same address then nothing. About 2 weeks later despite them having my home number (answering machine always on) and my mobile number they sent me another letter saying they tried to contact me but couldn't, yeah right. That was when i found the head office number and phoned them, anything that comes from the address on your letter can be taken with a pinch of salt as its a call centre and if it aint in the script they don't want to know. Incidentally after taking months trying to get rid of them the last correspondence i got was a ' Welcome to Virgin Media' letter telling me arrangements had been made to install my service 4 days before the letter was dated. They really the biggest load of crap i have ever had the misfortune to come across.
  23. To tideturner, glad i could be of some help. The call centre so called customer services at VM are a complete joke so all you forum members, if at first you dont suceed, phone Basingstoke Head office

  25. we have had a mobile home on the same site, infact the same pitch, for 22 years and are on our fourth 'van' and would recommend it if you don't look at it as an investment. We are lucky that the site we are on is well run and maintained but i've seen some that look like Basra on sea. They are expensive so all i can say is think long and hard before you buy to ensure its what you want. Finally to Tom87 some of these units can cost £60000, 38 grand is mid-range
