  1. I could be wrong but nothing will surprise me if one of those is to be LLOYDS, you should have seen a recent decision I received LOL, a letter from "outer space" me thinks it was an offer, yet they upheld 2 of the PPI complaints just last month after again telling them they had not investigated my complaints properly! Shame they don't name and shame!
  2. Hi folks Over a month ago LLoyds upheld 2 loan PPi complaints, although at first it was a low offer of goodwill, I got back to them and told them I did not find their reasons on the findings to be any reason to reject and that they missed some issues. However, due to that they upheld in my favour within days. Anyway, I have since sent in another ppi complaint, (did not have the agreement details on this one until recently), but now on this one they have done the same, and the letter looks the same lol, apart from the offer, which is again a low offer. They made lots of mistakes, on dates, the amounts and so on. I have however, requested they look into this more carefully as I don't believe they investigated this properly, also reminded them they just recently upheld another 2 for the reasons I gave. As many of you will know LLoyds are one of the banks that do NOT investigate properly and it would not surprise me at all if they are one of those banks to be fined! FSA takes tough action against poor complaint handling in banks Going by the amount of complaints the FOS had to deal with - with these being on top of the list to reject complaints. Anyway, even though they upheld the first 2 in the end, where they state they calculate in line with the FOS, that is something else!
  3. What a lot of mistakes they made on this current decision, wrong agreement dates, about cancelling the PPI, although there is no longer any PPI to cancel as it was all paid off in 2002!!! I really don't think they actually read my complaint properly!!!
  4. Thanks dx, yes have done that. Have an update on another.... Even though they upheld 2 recently, they have rejected on this current one - but with an offer of just over £223 odd! This was a loan taken out in 2001, settled in 2002. What should be refunded if upheld is approx - £2,539. They are treating it like an ogoing loan and have stated that the amount will be paid on any debt arrears owed to the account!!! There is nothing owing on this one settled in 2002! The last 2 they settled as you know is one they have refunded to my bank account, and the other towards an ongoing loan account due to arrears on this one. They refunded the one into my bank account because it was settled in 2005, and the other we fell into difficulties as hubby then lost his job due to the steel plant going bust, however they messed up on that one as well!! So the other they upheld apart from the £111 interest that was paid directly to us were refunded towards the debt on this ongoing loan. They certainly do not have a clue, my son with special needs would do a far better job than them!!
  5. Hi and thanks for your input here as well folks. LLoyds have a law of their own it seems! Anyway, since having 2 upheld, I received a decision today on another, they have rejected but gave an offer, there is no way I am accepting, the offer is that of only £223 odd, and its of a settled loan taken out in 2001, paid off in full in 2002. They are treating this like an ongoing loan and also have the dates wrong, they mention about if we want to cancel?? LOl. They have not got a clue. Even though they say its the final decision, they have kept it open for further consideration.
  6. Hi folks Just curious really in regards of how LLoyds calculates the PPI refunds in regards of when they "Uphold in your favour" and state they will calculate in-line with the FOS. Somehow I don't think so, but that is my opinion with mine so far. They uphold in your favour but does not disclose the actual amount to be refunded until you sign your acceptance. However, it seems you can dispute afterwards, but with my experience they are persistent they calculated the same way as the FOS. If it is right and I am short-changed, then there is a few hundred quid still owing. I have however had some calculations worked out for me on here, buy a very helpful member (you know who you are) LOL thank you , and it seems that someone else worked them out as well the same way - which worked out exactly the same as the ones done on here. In this case then LLoyds have short-changed me and possibly many others too. A lot of it is in regards of the interest. Anyway, Lloyds suggested that if I was not happy even though they have already made the refund into my bank account, as they have re-checked the calculations and still believe they are correct is to complain to the FOS. Due to being told this, I emailed the FOS to explain the situation to save having to go as far as complaining (even though it may even come to that yet)?? And the FOS got back by email and said they are willing to take a look at the calculations and to send them all by email alongside with any information of the loan, they will then send to the redress team and contact me as soon as they have been completed. Considering this did not go as far as the FOS, and upheld directly by the bank. and the FOS are still willing to take a look at the calculations, I am grateful for that. Hopefully it will all be finalised soon, so we know how LLoyds do actually calculate their refunds on PPI.
  7. In regards of the email received from LLoyds later today as shown above, I have emailed them again (Copied them to the CEO) and informed them they still not sent any details as requested on the last few emails of a "Detailed written breakdown" of how they come to these figures. I know I'm a right pain emailing all the time but sometimes you just have to keep on. Still awaiting on another decision as well, the 8 weeks are up over the next week or so and did not have any rebate at all on that one when that one was settled!
  8. Cheers Landy and dx Since emailing the FOS with the calculations (which may take a little while for them to come back to me), I have received an email from LLoyds here: Hello , I am e-mailing you in relation to your complaint and also the recent e-mails that you have sent to the Lloyds TSB Customer Care inbox. After re-looking into the complaint and carrying out further calculations, I can confirm that all of our calculations are correct. Unfortunately you will need to contact the Financial Ombudsman Service If you have any issues relating to the refund amounts or if you wish to escalate the complaint further. I apologise if you feel that we have not been able to provide you with a satisfactory outcome. May I take this opportunity to thank you for contacting Customer Care. Kind Regards, Lloyds TSB Customer Care.
  9. LOL:D, I have a feeling they will work this the same as you did dx, not sure if they will be able to do anything though. I will post back as soon as I hear.
  10. For curiosity - last Friday I emailed the FOS anyway just to find out if there is any way they can look into these calculations for me, and I thought if anything I would receive an email to request to complete a complaints form first. However, to my surprise they had emailed back this afternoon and said they were able to take a look at them anyway, I have not heard anything further from Lloyds since sending in all the info, the calcs/spreadsheet etc and not sure if the FOS would actually get involved even if there was a problem, but at least we may get to find out why LLoyds calculates the way they do and so on. Email received here: Dear , We can look into this issue for you, can you please provide me with the breakdown of the calculations performed by LTSB and any other information that you think will assist us and I will look into this issue for you. yours sincerely I I | Adjudicator | Financial Ombudsman Service | Tel 0207 964 0036 | Fax 0207 964 0037 South Quay Plaza, 183 Marsh Wall, London, E14 9SR
  11. Hi Mikey Good luck with yours as well, I am currently waiting for further feedback from LLoyds in regards of my case "interest" if you have not done so yet, check my thread out here: http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/payment-protection-insurance-ppi/256202-lloyds-loan-ppi-calculations-2.html And the calculations worked out by dx for me on post number 25 of my thread above. I bet your real busy now with the wedding coming up, all the very best and Many Congratulations to you both. Di
  12. Hi Mikey Well done. That is the thing with LLoyds, they uphold and send the acceptance and the figures come along later, however you are able to dispute on these afterwards if you believe they are not correct. I'm sure if you post them up on here, when you receive these - someone will take a look at them for you. I have a dispute on one of mine with Lloyds right now, they upheld inline with the FOS but there seems to be some Interest issues, so sent the spreadsheet breakdown/calculation (thanks to dx) which are in with Lloyds now, and awaiting to hear further from them. Good luck. Di
  13. I have forwarded the calculations spreadsheet to the customer insurance team, hope to hear back from them on this, or it will have to be complained to the ombudsman. Will keep you posted, cheers. Di
  14. I will thank you dx, they seem to be a crafty lot. Even though they may not do anything else now its worth a try, and there is always the FOS if needs to be. Cheers so much for this your a diamond. Di
  15. Thank you for this dx. This is what I more or less assumed. So, should I get back to them again on this and question about the interest. I do note though on their decision it states per annum, but is this in line with the FOS though? With it being a few hundred quid down, this is basically being out of pocket again really isn't it? I am very grateful for this, thank you again. Di
  16. Hi I have another one here, which is ongoing......... Right this is an older one again, this one only just gone to lloyds for reclaim, did not pursue this one earlier because its only recently we have had hold of these details. Basically this one was taken out to pay for a previous loan. Taken out on 9 Nov 2001 and settled in full 2 Aug 2002 This one is shown a little different to the other agreement above. 60 months loan Cash loan 700.00 monthly repayment 15.59 PPI £1,430.57 Monthly repayment 32.70 Loan for repayments of existing debts owed referred by you as referred to in condition 1© 5.500.00 Monthly repayment 126.11 Total loan 7,630.57 Total monthly repayment £174.40 The actual statement for this shows the amount borrowed as below: £6,200.00 loan amount £1,430.57 PPI Annual percentage rate 14.0% settled in full 2 August 2002 at £6,929.80 No rebate shown. I find this one confusing to be honest, maybe its because its consolidated a previous loan to that one.
  17. Loan amount £10,000 PPI £241.37 84 months 7.90% Interest on the Loan protection loan £662.42 Total price of loan protection = £2,903.79 Total loan=£12,241.37 Loan worked out £154.23 per month PPI worked out £34.57 per month Total monthly repayments per month = £188.80. 10 monthly repayments made 10 x 188.80 = 1888 all in with PPI With loan ppi as above. Without PPI 154.23 x 10 = 1542.30 PPI actually paid = 10 x 34.57 = 345.70 Settled with the below amount 30 Nov, not including the above. Paid the full amount of £9676.45 after rebate deducted of £1,658.23
  18. Lol i see, First payment made was 01/02/2005 and last payment made 01/11/2005 and settled in full 01/12/2005. Is this ok? Thank you
  19. I am trying to reclaim on another one with LLoyds as well, did not deal with this the same time because its only recently I have received SAR details. This one is also on a settled loan, may need some help with that one as well, however no rebate shown on the statements at all for that one. Should I start another thread for this other one? Cheers.
  20. Thanks for this dx, much appreciated. So the amount of £1007.20 is therefore the full refund I take it? If this is the case then its not far off then.
  21. Hi there Was it actually Ocean Finance who arranged and set up your loan?
  22. LOL, good point made dx They are doing my head in to be honest, I'm sure its wrong how they worked it out, or is it me? lol:eek:
  23. Email just received back here: Thank you for your recent e-mail sent on the 21st April 2010. The e-mail has been passes onto the case handler who will hopefully be in contact with you sometime shortly. Kind Regards, Lloyds TSB Customer Care.
  24. Email I sent them this morning: Good morning REF PLE Today I received the letter dated 19 April 2010 in regards of the loan insurance calculations. Thank you. Letter from XXXX XXXXXX Customer Relations Manager, and signed by a colleague. However, they have failed to provide me with the "detailed workings out" which was requested for when I requested for this to be checked for me. The letter confirms the figures have been checked again and I would appreciate the workings out of the calculation and breakdown sent to me. I believe I have the right to have these. The breakdown sent on the offer letter was not clear and did not show calculations, just the amounts, so please could the team email this to me? I was expecting to receive these with the letter I received today. This would help me to understand more on this situation. You have emailed copies of letters in the past such as the final decision, and due to the inconvenience, I would appreciate it if you could also email me the "detailed breakdown" thank you. Please could you do this today and let me know either way, appreciated thank you. Kind Regards
  25. Right received letter about the breakdown, although they failed to supply a "detailed breakdown which was requested for" I did not think the letter of the offers/amounts they were refunded explained much in detail.... Anyway they still state they were correct and I can take this to the FOS if we are no satisfied, would like your advice if this is possible please folks, thank you. Dear Thank you for your recent correspondence, regarding the refund calculations on your Personal Protection Insurance. I understand that you feel we made an error in these calculations, and have forwarded your own calculations for our reference. I have, therefore, requested that our calculation be double checked, to ensure that the amounts offered were accurate. I would like to point out that our refunds are calculated in line with the regulations as set out by the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS). The total contractual payments a customer has made on the loan, with interest that as been charged on the loan protection insurance payments , is calculated. The interest is based on the percentage that the branch has applied to the loan. The Settlement difference is then calculated and is based on the settlement balance a customer paid when settled the loan, with the settlement balance a customer would have paid if the Loan never had insurance. The settlement balance without the loan protection insurance is taken away from the actual settlement balance a customer has paid. 8% is calculated on this figure as well as 8% on the total contractual payments made. Having checked these figures again, I can confirm that our calculations and the amounts offered are correct. However, if you are still dissatisfied with the amounts, you can ask the Financial Ombudsman Service to independently review your complaint. Should you wish to do this you must refer the matter to them within 6 months of the date of this letter. Please refer to the leaflet we sent you in our letter dated 7 March 2010 which explains about this service. Yours sincerely Customer Relations Manager - LLoyds TSB Insurance. So what do you think folks, they have not enclosed any workings out either!!!! Cheers.
