  1. I found out that Halifax are matching overdraft in principle due to credit checks, but only for a limited amount of days I feel they will then want the old bank account (nationwide closing down) in order to keep the overdraft facility.
  2. Thanks I really need the reasurrance.
  3. Nationwide have now kindly taken away one of the overdrafts running at its max and want the whole lot back! nice touch. im so scared now as they will def do the same for the other 3 that I have on the go and amounts to a huge amount. Swapping credit back and forth tarting on ccards to try to raise the overdraft amount. Cant leave it that I dont pay it back as they have said they will charge me 24.% interest daily! got me over a barrell. Feel like I want to say sorry pse let me keep it and we will drop the whole thing ut know im in too deep for that and must continue forward. Still not had anything from court or nationwide and 14 days left till 28. Went to Halifax to open up an acc which matches your overdraft but think they want me to close my nationwide account off in order to keep od with them. Everyway I turn its just made so hard. Sent a letter to Nationwide and Mr Bacon their solicitior thanking them for valuing my custom over the years by penalising me and taking back the overdraft facility because we are in dispute, will take this to court to me if it goes that far, I have tried to negotiate at every stage but they just gave me no option.
  4. Im at 28 day period with Nationwide so keep me updated along the way, they have so far, taken back my overdraft.
  5. I thought I was being really clever by opening a new account with Halifax who would match the Nationwides overdraft but Im beginning to think by information that Im reading that the Halifax only offer to match the overdraft for enough time for you to go over to them, they then make you cancel your existing account. If I close my Nationwide account whilst in dispute over the money wont this mean I wont get it back as they wont pay it into my account?
  6. Hya Ian, Im around 14 days into my court time of 28 days for them to file a defence, thats what they will do, be warned though I did set up another account BUT I didnt reckon onthe Nationwide taking my overdraft away at this stage and asking for it all back within 7 days or they would charge me a daily rate of henious interest. I dont know if they can do this but think that as the account went around 10p over its limit they have the right to cancel the whole overdraft. I think that if you overstep the mark at all on the account they come down on you like a ton of bricks. I was very worried at this stage as I have four accounts with them and claiming on all of them, but went to the HALIFAX today and set up a new account with them where they match your current overdraft therefore can pay back Nationwide and just pray that I dont loose.
  7. I have just receivd a letter from Nationwide sayin they want all of their overdraft back on the first account that I have sent to court still in 28 day period. thats a grand, and if they follow suit with the other 3 accounts im in soooo much trouble as i just cannot find that overdraft. any help from an advice point of view would be appreciated...
  8. Does anyone know the outcome of the Barrister who went to court for damages today? in relation to his bank charges
  9. I am proceeding with court at 28 days for the defence with my sons Nationwide Account and one of my flex accounts. I have two more which I have now sent the 40 day statement request going back six years. I have read on Nat West thread that people are suggesting going back longer than 6 years (how can you do this if they suggest that they dont hold records back longer than that?) I have also rung the Financial Ombudsman today can provide no if anyone wants it as a result of a post I rcvd on this thread. They will take ahead claims for you as long as you havent got to court stage and they wont charge you a penny! It seems with the weight of their name it is going through quicker, this is all hearsay at the moment as I havent successfully claimed my money back YET.
  10. What are you guys thoughts on the barrister who is going to court Monday? if he looses and the bank wins surely its game off for all of us?
  11. tnx for info on Halifax,my 2nd claim has just come back from Nationwide that they intend to defend, I still havent had the AQ form from the courts does anyone think I should chase it up? or just wait..... they now have 28 days. What do we think about the barrister who is taking it to the courts on Monday? if he doesnt loose its game off for us guys isnt it?
  12. Thanks Eggie, did you have to go to court? Im a bit concerned about how far they will take it, and have read through the literature for statement of evidence and stated cases and it looks mindblowing, Im just nervous if they actually do try to defend it in court would I need legal representation? I know everyone says it wont get to court but I spoke to someone in chat room tonight who said she was appearing in court tomorow, I guess there is a likelyhood that she will have to travel all the way to the court and then they will drop the case hours before.Skeggsy
  13. great thanks for your experiences.skeggs
  14. whats a sar letter? im in the first stages of claiming with it being registered with court and got 28 days for them to prepare a defence
  15. I read the thread and presumed you won/ im at the 28 day stage with the Nationwide, can you let me know if they did close your account? and did you win/ so i know what to expect. skeggsy
  16. Let us know how you get on, have you gone to court stage yet and filed a claim?.... if so Im expecting this reply, I thought I read somewhere that it was unlawfull for them to close your account within 30 days of you making a complaint and this may also be answerable, saw this on money saving expert site.
  17. ok will do will probably hot up in the next couple of weeks. expecting them to close my accounts and have 3 which bit concerned about because claiming on my main account at the moment but have two more in the process, do you think they will close all three if they pay out on one which will mean i wont be able to find the amount overdrawn at present to pay back, was ready for them to repay me then close the accounts and that way they can take their overdraft and im debt free
  18. thanks for the support of Caesar, I think I would have totally bottled it by now without knowing that someone else has taken on NATIONWIDE and won, Iv stilll got a long way to go and will have to check it at each stage.
  19. I Have Started My Claim Online Against Nationwide. They Have Responded Within About A Week And Acknowledged My Claim Saying That Their Inhouse Solicitor Is Going To Defend The Claim. I Have Not Yet Received Any Allocation Questionnaire But I Think I Will Get One From The Court. I Have Now Lodge Anothe Claim With Nationwide And Asked For Two Other Accounts Statements.feeling A Bit Scared And Apprehensive:?
