  2. Most of the advice on the site seems to suggest to accept the offer but advise you will continue to pursue the outstanding amount
  3. http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=671 This one?
  4. Also remember that there are more than one credit reference agency that companies use. My Equifax file was amazing but on checking my Experion one it was really poor
  5. Seems very odd. I dont see how thier lack organisation should affect your timescales.
  6. Best of luck to you. I'm glad you have decided not to accept their paltry offer.
  7. Yeah dude the main thread is here
  8. As i said they 'kind' of tell you how much it is they are adding on at the same time they inform you of Insurance Premium Tax, breakdown cover, Motor Legal Protection etc etc The only thing i can think of as to why people dont realise a lot of the time(I hear this while monitoring calls) is, at the end of a 10-15 minute call after you have already agreed to buy something, people are so anxious to hang up the phone and have a cup of tea they are not really listening.

  11. Working for a car insurance company myself, i can confirm that payment protection cannont be added on without the client knowing about it, according to FSA regulations. However it will almost always be added on and they get round this by stating the price and saying something along the lines of "..this included £xx.xx for your payment protection...£xx.xx for your IPT.." etc. the only way it will not be added on automatically is if you are retired or unemployed.
  12. Ahh! you right. I never buy the tabloids, i just read ones i find at work, but it was 10p for months and months. Oh well...
  13. Hi ther, I'm new to the site also and found the FAQ's a great starting point
  14. One thing to make sure is that you stick to the timetable you set. Ie dont post it until their time has run out. Obviously they have replied but you need to give them until the date you stated to provide an acceptable reply(which they wont, but you need to give them the time to do so)
  15. Interesting thread on that note
  16. Assuming your not accepting this The next letter would be the Letter before action (LBA)
  17. Nothing on the Sun website about it only an unrelated story about CC charges edit.. its only 10p
  18. Good article, they missed out the fact you mentioned this site though
  19. Leave it in, after all their charges are excessive and unfair.
  20. Well my DPA letter was sent on Saturday to my BoS branch in Queen Street. Hopefully get a response this week. Fingers crossed!
  21. Many thanks i actually found it, should search more before posting. Apologies.
  22. Thanks! I have been totally debt free for over 4 years now and i have just opened a new joint account and got another switch account. If i contest the old charges on my old Switch - downgraded to solo - will they close all 3 of my accounts? I sincerely hope not I understand the closure of accounts is a possibility but does anyone have any experience of BoS closing accounts? And is it normally only if it ends up in court? Regards.
  23. Glad you got it sorted But for the record; to drive another car Third Party on your own Comprehensive insurance, the 'other' car must be insured itself (either C or TP)
