  2. I had a look there but i would say it is unclear. When you are responsible for returning the postage is it your right to select something thats suitable i.e insured for full amount and claim the refund or do you accept the risk of insuring for the lesser amount and take the hit if it goes missing? My argument would be that the item is faulty which isnt my fault therefore they need to provide cover for a "fit for purpose" carrier obviously that is reasonable so not using a same day courier for example. The soga and oft guides done seem to go into that level of detail. I did pay by paypal so i could check with them i guess. At the end of the day if im using them to fight it i guess its their decision...........
  3. Interesting point...... Their exact response was that i have £1000 in credit but i am only allowed to take 50% of it no further justification. Originally they claimed to not be able to find any record of me on their books.
  4. Hey All, Some time ago i purchased a block of lessons up front for a hobby of mine. Due to other comitments i only used up some of the time i had booked leaving a balance on the book. A few years down the line the company had changed ownership but still trade under the same legal entity. After a bit of a battle they confirmed the correct balance, however they are saying that i can now only have half of the remaining balance. Frustrated and annoyed at this i challanged them and said that i wanted a refund and didnt want to take the lessons however i have recieved no further response. What are your rights when purchasing blocks of lessons up front. If they hold them on account can they simply turn around and say we are going to half them? Also if i wanted to take the cash value am in within my rights to request this? Im not really sure how to go about fighting this properly. Sum in question is about £1000. Would appreciate any feedback. I know my description is a little vague.
  5. Hey All, I decided to treat myself for my birthday last week so ordered an Android tablet PC from ebay. When it turned up i couldnt power it on. After a few emails back and forth with the supplier they said to return it for inspection. 1 week later it is only now that they are sending a new replacement. In their terms and conditions they said that they would refund postage up to £4.90 for first class delivery. I enquired at the post office and they said that this would only cover the item up to £50 for loss not the £200. The best option was special delivery. On the basis that the item is faulty and needed to be returned am i entitled to insist they refund the full amount or do i just need to accept the risk on returning for the recorded delivery amount? Thanks in advance
  6. Hi all have been reading the threads and they are encouraging, has anyone had problems opening a new account on the back of abbey taking charges and sending you over your limit. I have just had a letter of them saying they are downgrading my delta card to a straightforward cash card because i keep going over the od limit (because of the charges they keep taking). Subsequently wanted to get a parachute account but everyone is saying no. I have no adverse credit as i have just remortgaged, taken a new loan and credit checked myself. Is it possible that topping an od limit can stop you getting a new current account? Is there something registered with experian or equifax when you top the limit? Can you take any action against abbey for stopping you get away? Its like a trap you cant get out of . At a guess they owe me at least 2k on my personal account, 460 on a 1 business account and about 500 on another not to mention 400 on a cc
