Most of the advice on the site seems to suggest to accept the offer but advise you will continue to pursue the outstanding amount

Also remember that there are more than one credit reference agency that companies use. My Equifax file was amazing but on checking my Experion one it was really poor

Seems very odd. I dont see how thier lack organisation should affect your timescales.

Best of luck to you. I'm glad you have decided not to accept their paltry offer.

As i said they 'kind' of tell you how much it is they are adding on at the same time they inform you of Insurance Premium Tax, breakdown cover, Motor Legal Protection etc etc The only thing i can think of as to why people dont realise a lot of the time(I hear this while monitoring calls) is, at the end of a 10-15 minute call after you have already agreed to buy something, people are so anxious to hang up the phone and have a cup of tea they are not really listening.

Working for a car insurance company myself, i can confirm that payment protection cannont be added on without the client knowing about it, according to FSA regulations. However it will almost always be added on and they get round this by stating the price and saying something along the lines of "..this included £xx.xx for your payment protection...£xx.xx for your IPT.." etc. the only way it will not be added on automatically is if you are retired or unemployed.
