  2. hi welcome to CAG i am guessing that this is the first time you have claimed.. well done for taking the first steps reclaiming your money. i sent my SAR(first letter requesting statements)(see templates) & cheque for £10. to pipers way swindon.. i recieved them approx 3 wks later. read the FAQ and other threads so you know what to expect on the way... there is always someone online to help you with any questions.. when you have sent your SAR off recorded delivery, check on royal mail web to see when and who took delivery of your letter, then count the next day as day 1, they have 40 days to comply to your letter.. this includes weekends and bank holidays.. so until then sit back read up.. and enjoy your holiday!!!! so where are you going???

  4. HI GUYS, I GOT THIS LETTER TODAY!:o PLEASE READ IT!! IS THIS A NORMAL SOD OFF LETTER~OR HAVE I HIT A BRICK WALL & COME TO THE END.. This letter was still addressed to MR Rightfully not MRS as it should be!!! Thank you for your recent letter about charges incurred on your flex account. Feedback from our members is absolutely invaluable, so we appreciate the time you’ve taken to contact us about this issue. We’re naturally disappointed that we haven’t met your expectations on this occasion. We are grateful for the opportunity to explain the rationale behind our charging policy and we’re aware there has been a lot of speculation about fees, charges and the impending OFT decision, in the media. We understand that some customers may experience unforeseen financial difficulties and it’s certainly not our intention to make things more difficult for them. At the same time when you opened your account you agreed to abide by the terms and conditions clearly setting out how accounts should be operated. Charges are applied to a members account when the account exceeds its agreed overdraft limit or a payment is returned due to insufficient funds. We notify you of the charges incurred, on your monthly statements and the charges are debited from the account 28 days after the statement is produced. We’ll try wherever possible to help you manage your account but it is ultimately your responsibility to ensure that funds are available to cover these charges and any further payments are due. If you are having difficulty managing your account we may be able to agree to provide you with an overdraft facility/increase your overdraft facility, if you request this in good time. You can apply online, by calling 08457 302010, or by contacting your local branch. Of course acceptance is subject to our lending criteria and cannot be guaranteed. You might also find that the enclosed page is helpful in avoiding future charges. After careful consideration of your request, we’re sorry that we can’t agree to your charges being refunded. Only in exceptional circumstances do we refund charges and on this occasion we feel it would be unfair to other members who find themselves in a similar situation and whose charges still remain. We realise that our answer will disappoint you however we trust that we have clarified the Society’s position. The Nationwide Group uses the Financial Services Authority rules when dealing with customers concerns. We’ve enclosed a leaflet that explains our Internal Complaints Procedure. If you would like any further information or feel that we have not covered all of your concerns please do not hesitate to contact us. Yours sincerely the signature begins with B then looks like ec with a circle in the middle ends with either w or n. the name is not typed underneath. it then goes on what to do if your still not happy Under the guidlines of the Nationwide Group Financial Services Authority, you may consider the following course of action if you are not satisfied with my response. 1 Our members service department can review your concerns. I will be glad to refer it for you. If you decide to go ahead with this option, please contact me. 2 If you are still not satisfied, you may then approach the Financial Ombudsman Service for an impartial, independant assessment of the situation. if you dont come back to us within the next 56 days,i will close our file. also another page under the heading 5 simple ways to avoid bank charges. I WOULD BE GRATEFUL ON YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS LETTER.. IS IT JUST THE NORMAL FOB OFF? HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS LETTER? DOES ANYONE KNOW THIS NAME IN THE SIGNATURE? THANKING YOU FOR YOUR TIME
  5. hi i read your thread and you say 26/3/07 post prelim... asking for £???? and interest!! you dont actually ask for the 8% until it goes to court.. and have you completed the spreadsheet to send with the prelim.. im sure you have read the step by step threads and are doing it correctly but how i read it ~ i just wanted to check that you got it all straight before you send it.. yep keep us posted on your progress.. if i have been of any help please add to my reputation by clicking on middle icon bottom left.. thank you..
  6. hi sb8, wow you are moving along quickly,, did you send the SAR letter requesting your statements and £10? how long did it take for you to recieve your statements? it took 3 weeks to recieve mine!! but they can take up to 40 days.. you were really lucky, then you sent your prelim letter and spreadsheet, and you give them 14days to reply~ then you send your LBA (letter before action) and give them another 14 days, then you file with the court.. check that you have done all the required steps before you file at the court or online.. the CAG way is a tried and tested way of you recieving your money back, you dont want to risk it by missing something important out.. it can be very daunting when you first start, but always ask someone will always help.. good luck and keep us posted..
  7. hi whiskers, its really hard when you are faced with the spreadsheet, knowing what to do and actually doing it!!! took me ages i know and with loads of help from guys on here.. they were more or less taking me through step by step - maybe check out my thread and you can see for yourself could maybe answer some underlying questions you may have.. they were of great help to me and got me through.. there is always someone on here that will help if they can its always worth asking at any time day or night ~ you never know who might be out there!! good luck
  8. hi christhesparky 40 days is just 40 straight off.. that is including weekends and bank holidays... if you sent your SAR recorded go onto royal mail web and check when and who recieved delvery of your letter, the next day is day 1,, i recieved my statements by special delivery after 3 weeks. so if you havnt heard from them on day 40, then send non complience letter on day 41, see templates.. dont worry im sure they will send them to you within the stated time.. they must know the time deadlines after all the claims they have been getting.. as eggopp pointed out to me tonight, the clocks went forward an hour so it has infact given us a whole hour on our side!!
  9. well say it like it is ehh!! nice one ~ keep us posted
