  1. I am new to this but I think you go back to the bank action group general forum and then there is a section for those in litigation and it says PM a moderator ( what ever that means!) I know they are a different colour in the list at the bottom who shows who is on line.Sorry to be vague but I am finding the technical part of posts /threads difficult myself. I think if you read in some of the success stories you might see some names of site helpers as well and I presume you can send Private message (just realised what PM means!) my brains too old for this! best of luck:confused:
  2. Hi how are you getting on? I am still waiting for my statements but have done lots of reading of all the threads on all banks which helps. Are you ok with FAQ as on another thread I found a list from a high user of the site. I thnk I saved on a thread and could send it to you if you want.A&L fined today for closing an account in retaliation! best of luck
  3. best of luck - I am just starting my claim and must admit the part about contractual interest seems to be the most contentious. From reading all the threads it seems to vary from Bank to bank whether they accept. Reading some of the A&L threads it seems that they have. Did you tell a moderator you are at the claiming stage - beacause then I think they will jump in with help if you have problems( which hopefully you wont!) interesting news today on the announcements aboutA&L fine dont you think!
  4. did you see in latest posts that A&L have been fined for closing account because of action by customer.
  5. Have you seen the announcement today on posts - Alliance and leicester fined for closing account ?
  6. I have just started as well - See my thread. You need to start a new thread of your in the a&L section and then someone will contact you (with more experience than me!) If you read all the the FAQ section and lots of threads you will get more info.Apparently A&L do close your account towards the end so you should open a "parachute" account and on the sites there are lists of recommended bank accounts. All the template letters are in the library and .When you start your own thread -you should start getting help.I have read lots of threads from each bank section and it does help. Best of luck:)
  7. Just a quick question.I am doing my homework and reading lots of threads. If I find one with helpful info how do I save it as a favourite? Is that the same as subscribing to the thread? I am understanding preparation and research a lot better - but finding posting/threads etc a bit harder to understand! It must be my age:o getting the hang of this now - wish I had sent SAR recorded if dont get reply soon or cheque cashed I will send again recorded. ONLY MISTAKE YOU MAKE IS ONE YOU DONT LEARN FROM:rolleyes: confidence up now and want to get started:smile: Especially now A&L penalised for closing accounts:cool:
  8. hi cant help too much as I have just started myself on A&L - but i have read threads for all other banks as well and I think when you start litigation stage you can contact a moderator who will help ( thats what it says on Alliance and Leicester anyway) Also some of the people who have won have extra help on their threads so look on the forums of settled cases. Sure someone will answer you soon anyway. Best of luck
  9. Hi I joined just recently after our mistake caused us to go a very small amount over the overdraft limit - next thing I know have 3 x £34 charges and although I could transfer the money from another bank it takes days while in limbo and then they are earning interest,so having been a customer for over 15 years Iasked for an immediate increase in overdraft - and although we are lucky enough to both be on good incomes they refused- mentioning a credit report. THIS WAS RUBBISH as i have checked and as I knew we had a good credit score. So then I remembered all the times this had happened before and I had just let it go.I a have sent my request for details of charges using the letter in the libary - but should have sent it recorded so could start the 40 day count down. Spend a lot of time reading the threads as they are invaluable to get you prepared for the next two stages that could happen quickly. Best of luck
  10. hi we are at same stage roughly. I made the mistake of not sending mine by special delivery - but am watching my account to see when they cash the cheque - then allow the 40 days.By looking at other threads it seems the A&L leave everything untill the last minute then pay up.I am looking forward to them leaving it to the court claim stage then can add all the interest as well.
  11. :? Great - I think I have started a new thread! Hope it is in the right place. Have just sent first letter to A&L for details of charges for last 6 years.I have a parachute account with Cahoot (with whom I have had no problems) My account with A&L was mainly for DD only for bills - but due to an error on our behalf went slightly over the OD limit next thing I know three charges of £34.00 for failed DD - even though my husbands salary is paid in on regular basis. Then it takes days to trf the money over for the DD and the charges. So it becomes a vicious circle. This has happened before and we have just paid up without argument and after seeing publicity for this site I have decided to take things further.I had asked for a temporary OD increase (while transferring money )and was refused and they mentioned an adverse credit rating? Cant see how this is the case as we have just had a large increase on mortgage granted - so they would have done thorough checks. Doing my own credit check anyway as thought it would be useful as amunition if A&L slap something on as a result of my action.I will update when I get details of charges.
  12. Best of luck - I am just starting with alliance and Leicester so will be watching with interest.
  13. I have sent my request for charge details to alliance and leicester and have parachute account with Cahoot. Can someone tell me how I start new thread on alliance and Leicester forum? Thanks
  14. Thanks for replies- i have been reading up on site tonight and have found the template. First time on ant website forum as well and feels good to have some support.
  15. Hi everybody I am just starting to research a personal claim against Alliance and Leicester bank . In error just went over the overdraft limit a small amount and was charged £34.00 for failed direct debit which then had a knock on effect for another DD due the next day before I could transfer money from another bank account. Before I know it I have £90 charges. Then I think about times this has happpened before and I have been angry - but just sort things out and let it go.So I am sending a first letter requesting details of charges for last 6 years. It also annoys me that it takes so long to transfer monies between banks when you do become aware of the problem. I would be interested to hear how other people have got on with claims against Alliance and Leicester bank.
