Received statements for both my private account and joint account over last few days - at no cost even though both accounts closed over 2 years ago "happy to provide these at our own cost" was their reply lol. Charges total upto around £1,000 for both accounts, going to start the legal process now like I have with Abbey, but before I do I need to know can I claim for both accounts on the one claim or do I have to file seperately for each one?

Lots of different advice on this Spicester, having looked at lots of threads with the same question.

General opinion seems to be as long as the accounts are linked to you as the claimant in some way (i.e. you are one of the account holder; joint account holder; you are acting on behalf of your other half etc etc and have a signed letter passing that authority to act on their behalf over to you), it makes sense, given the figure is way below the small claims limit to reclaim the charges together.

Word of warning though - this is only my opinion from the threads I've read. I'm sure others are more legally aware than me.

Good luck fella.

Thats what I thought based on what I have also read here, but their is now so many new posts all the time it is sometimes a bit difficult to locate them all the time lol. Think I will give it a go in one claim, the worst they can do is block it in the court etc, but I doubt that will happen, my name on both accounts so why not lol.

yes, claim for them altogether but in any letters you send, make sure you reference every account number- a/c xxxxxx an a/c xxxxxx. you can total them up at the end

good luck
