thanks for the support im getting already!:-)

right i just received a print out of my transactions from 11/07/02 untill 24/11/03

unpaid direct debits 16 x £32 = £512.00

unauthorised overdraft 1 x £15 = £15

i had been previously sent a summary of charges from 12/06 untill 01/04

this stated i have been charged;

total cleared transaction charges -£1,160.00

total unpaid direct debit charges -£1,937.00

total unauthorised overdraft fees -£290.00

but also stated;

total cleared transaction charge refunds £60

total unpaid direct debit charges refunds £35

are these already deducted or have i got to minus these from the total? it does state in letter that 'any refunds and reversals of charges are also listed and the totals are given at the end of each column. please note that this list will not include details of any charges that we have written-off.'?

abbey seem to have neglected to send me statments from 24/11/03 until jan/04..... any charges incurred on these dates should be in the summery from jan/04 though, shouldnt they? as you are billed for the charges later.

so looking at it, i have been charged £3,914.00 since 11/07/02!

now i have the info i need what to do now..........

You now need to send your prelim letter asking for the charges back.

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/bank-templates-library/671-2-letter-preliminary-approach.html

copy and paste the letter removing anything that isn't relevent to your cliam.

You alos need to include your shedule of charges, giving the date and amount of each charge. You don't need to include the 8% interest colum with the prelim letter, that comes in when you file in court. The following link gives the spreadsheet.

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/bank-templates-library/182-6-interest-calculation-spreadsheets.html

I think you will need to remove from the toltal any refunds you have been given.
