Hi,

I would like some advice about my situation. I have bought a used car from a garage, it was advertised as having air conditioning, however this has never worked. The car came with the normal 1 month warranty but this was about 9 weeks or so ago. When I contacted the garage within the one month period about this they agreed to have the air con recharged, however it seems like there is a leak in the system as it only worked for one day. when I phoned them up again they seemed to be organising to order a replacement part had have it fitted, I have now found out that they have no intention of paying to have this fixed and are claiming that as air con is an accessory that they do not need to have it repaired even though they sold the car as having it and it has never worked.

I hope that this makes sense, could someone please let me know if the garage is right in this?:???:

Thanks!

the garage should repair the aircon, they sold you it accessory or not. take it back to them and mention that under the sale of goods act you are entitled to a repair. if not mention trading standards, it wont hurt to call them. paul

thanks for that, though not sure another phone call is going to change them, I was just off the phone to them before I posted and they are quite sure that they do not need to fix this as it is an accessory.

Just wanting to make sure that I am entitled to have this fixed before trying to go further with it...really dont see how I can be expected to fork out £200+ to repair a newly bought car!
