Open my account with FD in June last year. This month I got a £80 charge so being curious I looked all the way back through my statments and found out they owe me just over £500!!.

Called them up and spoke to someone who said that the charges were reasonable and it was my fault cause my account was going overdrawn - I however pointed out that my account wasnt overdrawn in each case untill they took there charges - and becasue of them I am now in a vicous cirle of reciveing charges every month. So she told me to write the there customer relations manager.

I have now printed off all my statements and highlighted the charges and sent a lovely covering letter.

Fingers crossed.

Just wondering - does anyone think they will close my account?

I'm pretty sure they have to give you 30 days notice to close your account. If you find it has been closed without this notice there's action you can take - search around the forums to see. It has happened to a few people, but it's not so common.

You could in the meantime open up a basic account with another bank for peace of mind, if you're worried. Will only cost you time.
