Hi

New to the site so need some help please.I had a business account with the Northern Bank in Northern Ireland from 1998 to 2003.Have all the statements.I am going to claim back 6 years. When filling in the schedule of claim for charges form do I enter the full charge as on the statement ie SD UNPAID CHARGE 25.00 and dont add the 8%? Would like to claim from 1998 but will start with a claim back to 2001.

You can add 8% as per the spreadsheet - they've had your money for that length of time, they should pay you for the privilege.

Punitive charges are unlawful for cases of breach of contract for both business and personal (consumer) accounts, so much of the advice on the site will apply just as much to a business account - do your research though, I'm no expert!

If your account was closed in 2001, how much are you able to reclaim?

Going back more than 6 years is a growing theme - might be worth pushing it from the outset with NB?

Good luck!

Just to clarify, you can claim the 8% statutory interest, but you do NOT add this to your claim until you submit it to the court.
