A friend of mine is claiming about £3800 in unfair bank charges from the Halifax. She has sent off the second letter giving 14 days for Halifax to reply however they have written back to say that it will take between 14 and 28 days for them to look into her complaint. The letter also states that they may not be able to get it sorted in 28 days and in which case will write back to her requesting more time.

What should she do ? should she stick to her original time limits and let them know that she is going to stick to her time limits or is it in her best interests to give them 28 days ?

Unfortunately her laptop has died and she can not come on line which is why she has asked me to look into this for her.

Thanks for reading and any advice is welcome.
