Hi everyone,

i am in the middle of trying to claim back my bank charges from Halifax. i had previously claimed back charges from Barclays and had no problem at all.

Having spoken to Halifax and the Financial Ombudsman this morning i have been informed that they have 8 weeks to respond to a request for repayment regardless if you instigate court proceedings. Does anyone know if this is correct?

This is just a standard letter from the bank which has no relevence to the process you are involved with.

Whatever the stage you are at, stick to the deadlines that you have stated.

If you've said 2 weeks to supply details, then its 2 weeks, anything over and send the next letter.

YOU are in control of this process, YOU set the deadlines, and ultimately YOU will win.

Post a thread in the Halifax forum and stick to your guns.

good luck

Louis
