Hello all!

Just to keep you all upto date on claiming £1495 back from HSBC

1) Sent my standard letter with all the charges worked out on the 6th March as I had all my bank statments.

2) Recieved a reply on 14th March saying they were looking into matters.

3) Recieved another letter on the 10th April saying they have not completed their investigations and will contact me by the 8th May.

4) Recieved another letter on the 5th of May, this was the standard 2 pager about the banks tarifs and they do not agree with my contentions. BUT they have paid £150 into my account as an act of good will and deleted £25 worth of charges for April as I am a long serving customer!

FFS.

Are they hoping by paying it in I will not bother!

Money claim time!

I thank you!

Will

Hi Will,

Definitely moneyclaim time - sounds to me like the bank has been pratting about for far too long.

When you fill in your claimform, ensure that you account for the 'refunds' you have had to date, and don't forget the 8% APR.

Good luck - it's great fun :)

I didn't fill in online, but in person (great sense of satisfaction) - would suggest that you use your local branch. That way you can be sure you don't have to travel far if they let it get to court...but experience suggests they will capitulate long before that...:)
